My only qualm is the gps formatting- who really uses utm anymore? I get that it’s easy for reading maps, but a pain for inputting into the gps where everything else is dms format. Also, I definitely didn’t see a strong disclosure that purchasing one area would still require purchasing another area. It doesn’t matter if you have cell service or not, the maps are there and you location on them. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is due to the lack of more user ratings on canyons. I think you would end up with a better average report and understanding of what some of these canyons and hikes offer if you had a broader rating pool. Regardless, I use this app almost every time I head out. ### 4/5 — Great App Intro to Utah *2017-10-26, version 1.3.0* It is the best app out there for finding your way around slack he needs and hikes in the southwestern part of Utah. The fact that the GPS module works while you're in airplane mode and you can see your track while hiking in different remote areas can be reassuring for beginner hikers. A couple improvements would be nice, such as being able to zoom in on the maps further, as well as having the pictures downloaded on the app without having to be connected to the Internet. You have to take Ryan is taking times with a grain of salt, they could be right on for athletic hikers, but could take beginner hikers 1.5 to 3 times longer. ### 4/5 — Great app for canyoneers *2017-04-24, version 1.2.4* The beta is spot on ( so far!)
