The graphics are great. Love it all. But… after paying for the month I was really disappointed to see how few songs there are. I have realized that the strumming has been rough I have no idea how to play and this app just makes it harder. So overall, I kind of wish that they had more songs in those of which were more popular songs nowadays like riptide and death bed. It said I was doing the first chord wrong so I tuned it again, IT DIDN'T TUNE IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Not to mention, if you take a long time to get all the keys right, u will get 0 stars and keep having to play the wretched stage. Come on man. There is no back button so I did all the songs on there because I thought I had to and then I could go into another page but nope I’m still stuck here and I did try closes the app and reopening it but nothing happened. I want to be able to pick the song I want and not these kiddy and Christmas songs so please help me as I am very confused. ### 4/5 — What am I doing wrong *2020-11-22, version 0.10.3* I had a bad start with this app because I couldn’t get it past the first chord. No matter how loud I played, it said I wasn’t loud enough and wouldn’t unlock anything else. But it’s fixed itself now and seems pretty good. Looking forward to learning more chords! ### 3/5 — Good App but needs a few tweaks *2020-11-07, version 0.10.2* The speed transition between slow and regular is too great on anything but the first few songs. There needs to be a middle speed in order to enable a beginner to get the chords correctly before progressing. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App and or device doesn’t work well *2026-08-02* I am an experienced guitarist, having played for over 50 years. I was hoping that this would be a quick way to expand my repertoire. I tried several songs in the songs in the app and found it to be unusable. I tested the device on an electric guitar plugged into the device and on a Gretsch hollow body using the microphone. There was a delay between the device and the app, so that chords played registered as late even though the timing was correct. Also, the device or app failed to register about one in three notes completely. A third complication was that the sound automatically went to volume 0 in the middle of playing a song. The problems persisted despite following all recommendations for making sure only one Bluetooth device was connected, reinstalling the app, checking for updates, checking the input volume to make sure there was no clipping. I am returning the device, canceling my subscription, and uninstalling the app as it was unusable. Finally, the recordings work, but are not great quality. Better to get a good microphone or Tascam recorder. Hopefully, they can get these issues fixed with a new version or updates and significantly improve on the Coach app experience, as I think the concept is great. I continue to use the Roadie 3 tuner, which I like a lot. ### 1/5 — Free trial is a scam *2025-07-30* App offers two month free trial but when accepted it errors out. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2025-03-10* Don’t waste your money. I recorded music then attempted to transfer it from the Roadie Recorder to the app. Downloads fail for anything longer than 30 seconds. It is nothing more than an expensive fishing weight. I immediately returned it. ### 1/5 — Terrible! *2024-06-09* Based on the fact that this app literally can’t pick up anything you’re doing unless you strum it at hard as physically possible I genuinely believe all the 5 star reviews are lies. Try it fir yourself and you’ll see it’s useless. There are MUCH better apps. This one is trash. **Developer response:** Sorry to hear about your experience. So at first this app is good and I learnt ‘you are my sunshine’ but then I tried to learn ‘old macdonald’ and it would tell me to play C and F and it was fine. But then it would ask me to play G and for some reason it just kept saying it was wrong no matter how loud or quiet or hard I played it it just wouldn’t work. I searched up how to play that note and I asked other people how to play it and they all said I was doing it right. So I tried again. It still didn’t work. It kept saying it was wrong so instead I just had to repeatedly play it so loud and eventually it would decide out if no where it was right even though I was doing the same thing I was doing the whole time. I managed to do it all the was through but then it would say I had to restart because I needed more practice on the Gs!! I got so mad and u just deleted the app. This is not worth it unless you just want to play ‘you are my sunshine’ for the rest of your life. I wouldn’t recomendad this unless you fix it. It’s a shame because it was very good at first until it got tor the second song. Thank you So ### 1/5 — Updates bad *2020-11-24, version 0.10.3* The app used to be so so great! I would use it all the time to teach my self and friends because we could all practice no matter what level. Then the update happened and got rid of a lot of the good songs and made it so that you had to unlock most of them. If you want for more people to get your app again.
