### 5/5 — Wow!

*2012-04-14, version 1.4.1*

So much for so cheap! This is a wonderful easy to use app for anyone wanting to play along to backing tracks, learn tunes or transcribe music. It's all here and for 3$...

### 4/5 — Sweet

*2012-04-10*

$17 cheaper than Coda and a whole lot cooler looking. Glad I held off on buying Coda or Amazing Slow Downer as this is really functional and well thought out and designed. Sound quality needs work.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2012-01-30, version 1.4.0*

It's a great app. But it's got some bugs but I'm sure they will be ironed out soon enough. I recommend!

### 5/5 — Unbelievable

*2012-01-28, version 1.4.0*

This app is great right now if you are a music lover and what to learn how the artist composes and layers their music. However, future improvements would be a nice addition, such as being able to export to iTunes, or email to someone. You could also add effects for different parts of the composition. But as the app stands right now is great. One minor improvement I really need to see is not having to click the record icon to chose the function I want to go into maybe like hold down and the menu pops out, slide finger up, then release. But just a really minor tweak.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2012-01-28, version 1.4.0*

I work in a music shop and i am also a bass player. This app has just saved me heaps of cash as I nearly bought something that does the same thing for just under $200. I don't usually write reviews but I felt that i had to this time.
Well done. Great app
Ps. The loop function works fine

### 5/5 — Love this app :D

*2011-10-05, version 1.3.0*

I've never felt compelled to write a review for an app before. But I feel obliged to give robick a review and five stars.
The way you've stuck to 'simple is best' make this app a pleasure to use. It's features aren't all over the place and they just work! It's helped me during my schooling and soon to be university-ing. I reccommend it to all my muso friends and learners of instruments. It's just great.
Well done you guys :D

### 4/5 — Great

*2011-09-08*

This is a great app. Please make an update so you can zoom in more on just a tiny bit of music and so you can slow down the music more than 50%. Still this app is awesome.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2011-09-07, version 1.2.0*

It's one of those apps where it is left a little unused and you start to wonder why you bought it... BUT... when you do find a use for it, it's absolutely great.

It's a wonderful app for learning and practicing new songs on the guitar... or even any instrument, I needed something that would slow down the tempo when i'm practicing the guitar and this has come to the rescue a few times now.

Great app, well worth if!

### 4/5 — Great fun!

*2011-08-30, version 1.2.0*

It's fun when you're enjoying a song and you adjust the tempo at the last chorus. Could you please update the app so that I can save it to my music please?

### 5/5 — Excellent...markers would be nice.

*2011-08-18*

This is a FANTASTIC, cheap app that is very useful for transcription. I plug my iPod into my stereo, using this app, and transcribe using Sibelius 5, and I become a transcribing fiend.

One recommendation, however: it would be nice to have the ability to mark certain points in a track. Some sort of marker system would be very useful.

### 5/5 — Fantastic and Amazingly Intuitive

*2011-08-14, version 1.2.0*

I use this to learn bass guitar lines. I can slow down the tracks I'm learning and boost the bass level for better clarity. Great for analysing music too and listening to songs on a different plane.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2011-08-09*

Simple and easy to use! Just what I was looking for! Works with all of my songs, and hasn't crashed! I highly recommend it!

### 4/5 — Shuffle

*2011-08-08, version 1.2.0*

Please, please make it so you can shuffle the songs. That's is making the tracks play in random order. :)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not work!

*2016-11-14, version 2.4.1*

Does not work! Does not allow DRM protected files to be uploaded as it says.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2013-03-07*

Just purchased this app. It crashes every time I try to load any songs or music tracks onto it. (The songs were not DRM protected.) No longer appears to be compatible with the latest version of iOS (6.1.2). All I'm able to play is their sample audio track. :(

### 2/5 — Awkward interface

*2019-01-10*

I was struck by the feature list of what it can do in theory, such as save loops, but it’s too hard to use in practice. I’m only willing to put so much effort into wrestling with a funky interface before bailing on an app. In the end the perhaps overly inventive interface is just awkward, although cute as heck.

A deal-breaking negative is that the interface sits sideways on my iPad Pro - no beuno. I suppose I could sit the device sideways, but then you lose control over the viewing angle for the screen. Awkward.

PS: I note that across the board iOS apps continue to be markedly inferior to Mac apps in almost every instance - on the Mac the Amazing Slow Downer is infinitely superior to its dumbed down iOS version (which cannot save loops) and to Robick as well, of course.

**Developer response:** Thank you for review.
This application aims to be easy to use when operating many times. However, as you pointed out, the interface is not common, so it may be difficult to understand how to use it.

By tapping the "i" icon in the lower right corner of the main screen you will see a simple operation method, so I hope this will help you.

If you have any questions about how to use please feel free to contact support.

### 2/5 — Nice app but needs some work

*2018-10-22, version 2.7.1*

I’ve been searching for an app that allows me to scroll through music tracks in a way similar to the jog-wheel on an iPod to help me easily skip or repeat a section while I learn to play guitar.

This app looks great and allows me to use it as intended however I find that it crashes a lot when using the core functions despite having the latest OS and app version.

Hopefully it will be updated to address this issue soon or I will need to continue my search for a similar but more reliable app...

### 2/5 — Needs improvement!

*2013-07-06*

It sounds decent, but it needs a major overhaul when it comes to iPod music access, needing to transfer tunes manually is just plain stupid.

### 3/5 — Not yet perfect but close.

*2011-08-03*

The sound quality is worse than Amazing Slow Downer but the user interface is nicer.

### 3/5 — Hmm

*2011-05-26, version 1.1.1*

I believe I just wasted my money, giving 3 stars for basic functions

### 3/5 — Great! But add reverb & smooth out looping

*2011-04-29, version 1.1.1*

This is great! Perfect for looping / removing. Option for reverb to make smooth loops is needed & app needs updating to remove clicks on looping. Other looping progs don't click. Thanks

### 4/5 — Powerful and slick-looking, but difficult to use

*2016-02-10, version 2.3.1*

This app has many of the features you would want in a slow-down audio player, but is very difficult to use because the interface is needlessly cryptic and user-hostile.

You will have to spend a lot of time searching for the features you need, but once you find them the app's functionality will start to shine through.

### 4/5 — Very good but would be even easier on iPad

*2013-03-31, version 1.5.0*

Please can you port this over to the iPad as the larger screen would be a huge benefit in terms of adjusting the start and end positions of sections. This is quite fiddly on an iPhone sized screen. Still a great and very useful app for a musician learning a song.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best!!

*2020-07-15, version 2.8.3*

There is no app that is so well designed in simplicity and functionality. If you are a musician trying to figure out music by ear this is a great tool.

### 5/5 — Best available

*2018-06-08*

I use it for guitar and it’s fantastic for practicing. The ui is neat but can feel a little clunky moving around sometimes. Dislike having to import files from Dropbox as opposed to being able to read directly from iOS folders but perhaps that’s a limitation of iOS and not the app itself. Really wish you could have multiple start/stop slices for 1 song. Right now you can only have 1 but at least it remembers when you come back to song after switching to a different one so it’s not the end of the world. Good job by the developer

**Developer response:** Thank you for review! You can save up to 3 repeat sections for each song. Tap the down arrow icon at the bottom right of the screen and tap the 1 to 3 icons to switch the repeat section. I will consider the function to import songs from iOS Files.

### 5/5 — Priceless

*2017-04-21*

The most useful app on my phone. Would love A UI refresh!

### 5/5 — Absolute Top Class

*2015-11-29, version 2.3.1*

Really surprised why this app doesn't show up in the top 50 apps in AppStore. Incredibly wonderful app. Love it to bits. Developers, please promote it as this has huge potential. I use it to slow tracks during guitar practice. Similar apps such as capo touch, anytune etc.. sell at a premium price!! This one is cheap in price + rich in functionality. Highly recommended. Probably the best for the price range on App Store; even beating apps set at above £10.

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2015-11-14, version 2.3.1*

In all the years I've been downloading apps, this is the first time I've decided to write a review because this app deserves it!
This app is perfect for slowing down songs to catch a riff, line or anything you want. You can even EQ the song so that the high lows or mids come up or down in the mix. The app looks great, you just touch, swipe or grab to change what you want (i.e tempo, song region etc.)
This app definitely deserves more stars, it's worth the price too!

### 5/5 — The best app of this type by far

*2014-12-21, version 2.2.0*

I've bought a few of these apps for slowing down etc music tracks and this is the best by a long way. It looks good but more importantly it's so incredibly easy to use. Skipping to different parts of the track is precise and slick and setting up a loop is so quick and easy to do, as is altering the tempo etc.
A very original and unique but simple to use user interface. Well done to the developer!

I've been using this for many years now and continue to be very satisfied with it.
I highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2013-07-06, version 1.5.0*

This app in simply invaluable to anyone who needs to learn a song on guitar or bass, or vocals.
One of the best and most used apps I've used.
Love it. Would love a dedicated iPad version though.

### 5/5 — Stunning

*2012-11-25, version 1.5.0*

Professional opera singer. Fills a big gap in the iPod app. Learning music is so much more easy now I can scroll backwards and forwards simply and precisely. The odd bit of slow mo helps too!

Update: Still brilliant (used it since day 1) and the app has been consistently updated with new features. Very good developer indeed.

### 5/5 — Great functionality and design!!

*2012-07-19, version 1.4.3*

Takes something special for me to write a review, and this has it all! This app has a funky interface that is fully functional. As a harp player & learning percussionist I find this program indispensable for analysis of riffs; and imagine it would be the same for guitarists and other musicians. Easy to operate and all features work a treat!

### 5/5 — Terrific

*2012-06-13, version 1.4.3*

Nothing to add really for this great app except to say that I've been using it for over six months and it's proved to be great value. It really encourages you to use your ears to learn a piece, which many say is the best way.
Would love an iPad version please!
