Not only do Robin Wood’s tarot images resonate with me the most, in this app, she gives VERY detailed descriptions for each card. Even more than the physical book that comes with the physical deck. I love it! This is my go-to app when wanting to look up tarot cards. I didn’t have the physical deck, so when I pulled a card in person from another deck, I would actually look up the image on this app and could understand the card better. I finally bought the physical deck today, but will still be using this app to read her detailed descriptions of the symbolism in each card. At first, I was a little skeptical about how accurate it may be, you know, an app vs real cards. Let me be the first to say that there is no difference! Energy is energy and my readings are just as accurate using the app as when I use the real cards! The artwork is beautiful. I love the option to share the reading via email! So easy to use! I loved the deck so much I've always bought myself new decks over the years as the old decks get worn out. I love this app. It's fun and listening to introductions and information is really enjoyable. I recommend this deck to anyone and everyone. No matter how old I get, (I'll be 51 on Aug 04), The Robin Wood Tarot Deck still teaches me things, and always make me smile and feel good about my readings. ### 5/5 — Best Tarot App *2016-05-31, version 1.4* I have used several tarot and Lenormand apps since they first became available. Most are flawed in some way or just clumsy to use. I found Fools Dog when looking to see if Robin Wood cards, my favorite, were available. The app is so well thought out and easy to use that now I look for Fools Dog rather than specific decks. I now have several. It includes the entire Robin Wood Tarot book. ### 5/5 — 🎇🎇🎇🎇 *2016-02-11, version 1.4* Thanks to TFD - Robin Wood is the first boxed deck that I'd decided to get last September, I'd resolved to first run through all 78 cards on several TFD decks (mostly the first free deck-and mostly one-card daily draws) so there I was in mid-January finally getting to use the physical deck; suffice to say I'm quite happy with the readings and overall experience. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Nice approach to interpretation! *2016-07-09, version 1.4* Though this is not the deck I started with, the similarities make it easy for me to relate to each card without changing what I've come to understand. The changes made to the images open the intuitive mind to expand their meaning and are closer to the Jungian, archetypical meanings I prefer than the dogmatic interpretations given for the Rider-Waite deck I began my journey using. I love the richness of the drawings, the colors, yet the meanings have not changed, but expanded, allowing room for personal interpretation. Great app for someone new to Tarot or a seasoned user who needs another view in their vision. ### 3/5 — Love it. I also record readings with physical cards using this app. I sincerely hope it will continue to be updated so we can use it in future iOS versions. ADDED 11/9/2022 I really hope the app will be updated. At the moment the Journal page does not scroll. That means no access to old journal entries that do not fit in the page. ☹️ ### 3/5 — Some bugs *2018-01-10* Been using this for a while...great for doing quick readings on the go. But recently the journal feature has stopped working. Whenever I click to access the journal, the app shuts down. Have tried updating iOS, removing and reloading app, but still not working. ### 4/5 — Only a few glitches *2026-03-14* The Robin Wood deck is my all-time favourite tarot deck. I love that you have the full material of the book available. My only gripe is a few mechanical glitches. When using the journal, it’s hard to make the whole writing area appear. I pull at the screen, but it bounces back to position. I love the fact that the complete text from the companion book is included, giving not only the card meanings but the artists own notes on each card. When I was first learning the tarot, the beautiful Robin Wood deck was used to illustrate the book that I was learning from. So, I’ve always had a real affection for this deck. The images are so beautiful and vivid. They are also reasonably close to the classic Rider-Waite, so aren’t difficult to follow. - That’s often a problem with other decks. I have this deck in real life, but it’s nice to be able to use it on the iPad as well. Perfect! ### 5/5 — My favorite Tarot deck! *2023-09-17* Many years ago, I met Robin Wood at a fantasy/sci fi convention. I was already aware of some of her other books, which I brought with me for her to sign. I bought her tarot deck and accompanying book there, and took a class at the convention from her, which I really enjoyed. I love her artwork and her deck really speaks to my soul. I’m so thankful for this app, and all the extra benefits it offers to tarot enthusiasts. I’ll never forget the short time I spent with her. I think it is well thought out and planned, works really well, and I love the ability to enter cards into a reading that I’ve drawn myself from my own deck, and then share that reading with the friend I did the reading for via email. I love the journal that keeps record of all the readings. Great work! Well worth it! ### 5/5 — My favorite tarot, in a great app *2021-08-08* I have always loved Robin Wood’s tarot for its vivid colors and dense symbolism, making it a joy to work with and easier to read. The app is simple, but still has all the features I value in a tarot teaching app, including the ability to save and journal about readings. I rely on the card of the day, and Robin’s incredible descriptions are a joy to read. I love being able to view the description of the card of the day side-by-side with the card image. I just wish it was easier to trigger the feature that makes the card and description appear side-by-side. I just keep poking and swiping until it happens. It was one of the first decks of cards I bought when I was starting to learn Wicca and Tarot. The images on this deck are very simple and free from any hermetic, astrological, or alchemical symbolism.
