However some recent update has broken check-ins when in airplane mode. The map shows up as black. Also an error dialog pops up and refuses try go away no matter how many times you dismiss it. I hope you want to log in. The map feature works as extraordinarily as the website, but the offline map feature fails. You cannot select an area to create an offline map, you are stuck with what is mostly practical, a large area nearby. You cannot change the levels of zoom you would like to download either. The best part about it is that you don’t have to actually google geology map or Google maps. From beginners to experts, this is an absolute must for anyone who has an interest in rocks. Also in map view when looking at people’s checkins, when you are done looking at one, the map brings you back to your location. This is pretty annoying when you are trying to review checkins in a certain area because you have to keep navigating back to that area after each checkin is reviewed. ### 1/5 — Location accuracy *2022-08-25, version 3.2.3* Since the latest app update, the app fails to update your gps position in real time. This is frustrating if using while on a road trip, which is the most useful application of Rock’d. Additionally the map often fails to indicate North making it difficult to determine geologic units relative to your position. And to make matters worse the link to the developer web page is broken so no way to get help. I’m also finding the maps lacking in content. Mt Shasta does not show up on the street view. Have to hit the satellite screen to find a mountain that is massively dominant on the land scape.
