### 4/5 — Good with one request

*2013-10-06, version 1.2*

My 4 year old is doing sight words and likes building simple rockets(like this game already does).

What would be nice option is the interval choice (fixed at 3 words right now). It would be good if we could do 1 or 2 words to get to the end and then shoot the rocket.

Nice work on getting a balance on fun and learning

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2012-12-23*

Kids love it. Parents love it. Everyone wins!

### 5/5 — Fantastic addition to the Rocket Speller family!

*2012-12-18*

My three year old LOVES rocket speller, and he can't wait to try the new Rocket Speller Plus! From a parents perspective, this is one of the greatest learning apps a child could use to further enhance their vocabulary and their ability to spell and read. I love this new app, and I know my three year old will give it an enthusiastic thumbs up!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Please update

*2017-11-10, version 1.8*

App only works for one play, then crashes. Kids love the game, but quit/relaunch is tedious.

### 1/5 — Crash

*2017-06-22, version 1.8*

The app does not work it's crashing every time o press play

### 1/5 — Confusing

*2014-03-19*

Allows kids to place phonograms out of sequence. Also, pronounces some phonograms wrong.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2013-03-14*

The most disappointed I've been with an app purchase. LOVED the free version, so decided to purchase the Plus. Was excited that there was an even better version available that included letter sounds...have yet to see any difference between the two...why did I pay for something I already had for free?? Very frustrated!!

### 1/5 — Not good

*2013-01-30*

Unable to hear phonics. Gives word and allows you to drag the letter not much learning involved not worth the money would love a refund

### 2/5 — No update in 5 years? Keeps crashing…

*2021-12-28, version 1.8*

It now crashes every time you tap the parents icon.

### 2/5 — Update needed

*2017-08-26, version 1.8*

Please update!!!

### 2/5 — Good game play but....

*2013-02-13*

My little one loves this game and i was excited to see there was a phonics version available. However the phonics sounds are not quite right which is a real shame.

### 3/5 — imperfect

*2018-08-08, version 1.8*

No verbs and adjectives.

### 4/5 — Phonics Improvements

*2013-11-09, version 1.3*

I like how it groups letters together to show phonics, but it doesn't group "ing" together which is very confusing to my students.

### 5/5 — WHAT?

*2023-07-31*

Look! There’s a bug you need to fix! Do you wanna know what it is? Okay, I’ll tell you; when I press the parents button, the game crashes! It always does that with Wifi and without Wifi! Can you fix it?

### 5/5 — Exceptional Spelling App

*2013-03-02, version 1.1*

I used the free version of this app for over a year, including dozens of hours in my son's Kindergarten classroom - the paid version is even more useful. My child struggles with phonics & spelling despite being several grades ahead for reading via sight words - this program is engaging & has helped my child's spelling immensely.

### 5/5 — Great learning tool!

*2013-02-14, version 1.1*

This is a great supplemental learning tool for my dyslexic six year old. It has renewed his interest in learning to read and, with parental guidance while using the program and his school teacher's help, he has learned to recognize that letters have sounds and that putting them together can make words. He has also learned about silent letters and combined letters that make new sounds. It is just the right amount of learning with the game format that he needed to boost his desire to work on reading/writing!

### 5/5 — Teacher's opinion.
