Nothing more than poorly worded, flowery descriptions, that can be found most anywhere else on the internet. However, it's not as good as the Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Rocks and MInerals handbook. ### 2/5 — Little to recommend *2011-07-02* Very little information and a poor selection of rocks. At the very least you would expect a library like this to come with some basic information on physical properties such as hardness or chemical symbols, but only a few of the rocks seem to have anything more than a basic descriptive paragraph. Even these seem to be written by somebody with no knowledge of geology. No matter what stone I put in, it kept giving basically the same answers again and again. Not worth it even if it is free. And it isn’t **Developer response:** To be clear, the app makes no claim to "recognize" any rock or gem and has no capability to do that. If you have a Rose Quartz Crystal that you want to add, you simply take a picture of it, add any other details about it, like where it was found and save it to your collection. Your collection can then be sorted by type, date found, or rating.
