This app is all marketing with no serious material or effort. ### 1/5 — Horrible Customer Service *2026-08-12, version 2.9.1* This app has numerous connectivity issues, but the last straw for me was when they charged me for my monthly subscription and cancelled my membership anyway. I have the receipt from Apple proving my purchase of subscription this month, and I’m locked out of the app. I’ve tried for over a week to contact them and they haven’t gotten back to me. This is how they treat you after they take your money. I can’t say enough bad things about Ubisoft. ### 1/5 — Disappointed… *2026-08-06, version 2.9.1* Honestly was going to pass on the review but wanted people to know, just save your money. Been playing rocksmith for years starting with 2014 and since the implementation of payments I’ve been extremely disappointed. Notes I’m clearly hearing saying it’s not registering causing the app to pause. ( ruining any type of rhythm and flow) The cost is crazy considering 2014 had better songs and I’d say a better learning platform. They have stripped the game down and have you have to pay more for a less enjoyable experience. Not to mention they have not made any updates to fix issues or found ways to make the payment actually worth it. I WAS a fan of rocksmith until this one came out and I’m sad it’s so bad now. Better off buying a late copy of the 2014 version on an older system at this point and I guarantee you will enjoy that more than this rocksmith +. Save your money, save your money and save your money. I payed for the year and honestly just want a refund. I can still access pretty much everything through the “home”, “learn” and “search” tabs. So the issue has been deescalated from catastrophic to minor annoyance. I still think a paid app shouldn’t have issues like this that customers are left to navigate on their own, rather than the developer making it seamless. This is probably why other guitar apps have much larger user bases. But at least Rocksmith is priced more competitively to somewhat make up for it. The only other criticism I have for now is that the song selection could be better. A lot of artists and songs are not available, and there’s no funk music category at all, which is a big disappointment for bass players. But there is still a decent selection to choose from. Plenty to keep you busy, especially if you’re a beginner. The technique exercises are good too. That’s honestly one of the biggest selling points for me. All in all, it’s a very effective app for helping you learn to play while making it engaging and interactive. I think gamified training is one of the best ways to learn. It just needs more attention and care from Ubisoft to bring it to the level of it’s competitors. I’ll stick with it for now and update if there are further issues or changes. - Basic technique exercises work, but as soon as you try to play a song, the app blocks you with “can’t connect to server” error messages. The songs load just fine, but the app will continuously stop playback and interrupt you with error messages, making it impossible play. What’s shocking to me is that there are reviews going back MONTHS complaining about this issue, so I know I’m not the only one. And Ubisoft STILL hasn’t fixed it. You have a lot of nerve charging money to use this app, and then refusing to support it or fix problems.
