However, the add on version is very bland and there is not real challenge as the original was. It’s more of annoying repetitive actions. It’s like there was no real effort. I happened to fire it up a few weeks back to replay it and was pleasantly surprised to see the new level pack and new graphics! The game engine (written from scratch) is superb for the game. The 3D engine with reflections and dynamic movements are very well thought through and executed. I really enjoy the new blocks. I’ve not completed it yet but I’m 2/3 through and the level craft is both innovative and dastardly! I was stuck on level 52 for almost a month. A really good balance for that sitting on the sofa relaxing after work type of game. There aren’t enough games like this. There is absolute cunning and thought put into these harder levels that even though can be really tough, it absolutely makes me credit the level creator once I solve it as I imagine is quite tricky to conceive ideas when making a full level pack. ### 4/5 — RR 2 *2024-08-03, version 2.0.5* It’s impossible to get the Strawberry on level 23! ### 4/5 — Great game, but… *2024-07-28, version 2.0.5* I’ve enjoyed the game, but I’m now stuck on a level and the only way to get help is to spend real money. I wish I could use the money within the game I’ve collected to purchase the help, watch an add for help, or invite more friends to play the game to get help (they do allow this one time.) I won’t be spending actual money on the game, so I will probably delete it soon. It’s the first time I’ve seen a need for double verification for an app. After I put in my Apple ID, it then says it needs verification and sends a code to my husband‘s phone. I have to get the code from him and then after I type the verification code, I try to press verify and it just will not register. I have tried it about a dozen times. ### 5/5 — Great game, and the strawberry in level 23 is now possible to get! (Updated review) *2024-07-01, version 2.0.3* I’ve loved this game since it came out years ago, so I immediately bought the new levels pack when it became available. Going through all 63 of the new levels was a lot of obsessive fun. Previously, when going though the levels again to get the strawberries, I’d discovered that the strawberry in level 23 could not be gotten. (It’s down a small section where the floor only allows one pass. If you go down to get it, the floor behind you sinks into the water. At the time, there was no “water potion” available on the level, but the latest update fixed that small bug and made a water potion available to find.) The new levels are a blast! I love how you really need to use logic to figure everything out. This is one of my favorite games! (And kudos to the business model of a one-time purchase. I have moved up and accidentally hit menu then restart more times than I can count. There should also be a portrait mode, I don't even care if it's added in or not, I can play as is but not with the menu button being huge. Theres only 4 blocks in the level and you need to use 3 to reach the finish because of water. However in its current state, you have to waste 2 blocks in order to access keys and cheese. The reason being is that there is a floor block in the upper left surrounded by conveyors that has no grip. You don’t stop on it and just slide on past it, making it impossible to get the blue key in unless you waste a block to get to it, thus leaving you with only 2 blocks at the end of the level. I don’t think I’m crazy, but I’m also not spending more money on a credit to see if it’s a glitch or I’m missing something. 2 stars in the meantime until they fix this. ### 2/5 — Something *2025-03-03, version 2.0.5* Level nine is so hard you have to make it easier!😮‍💨 ### 2/5 — Fix levels *2024-06-12, version 2.0* Love this game. I did a search after feeling some nostalgia for Chip’s Challenge. However, after the last update, two levels are unbeatable. There is a wall block in the way on The Beginning: level 32 (or an ice block needs to be changed to a wood block) and the wrong color key is given midway through 33 (needs to be red, not green, or the next door needs to be green, not red) ### 2/5 — Super fun with a major glitch *2022-03-19, version 1.2* I loved Chips as a kid and it was awesome to find this game that is a great remake. The only problem is I got to level 60 and am completely stuck because of a glitch in the game (the balls that move on their own stop moving when you get a certain distance away - since on this level the ball is activating a button to open pathways you get to a certain point where you’re too far away for the ball to move but stuck because all of the pathways are closed).
