## What is Rodewatch?

Anchor monitoring on Apple Watch.

Record a GPS reference point, set the swing radius and follow your boat’s distance and movement.

Without a subscription: anchor alerts, GPS-gap warnings, a live swing map, radius helper, man-overboard position marker and race timer.

Pro subscription: detailed night reports, GPS-gap history and GPX export.

GPS analysis runs on your Watch. No Rodewatch account is required.

GPS quality, battery and watchOS limits affect monitoring and alert delivery. False alarms and missed movement are possible. Maintain a proper anchor watch and use other navigation and safety equipment. Rodewatch does not contact emergency services.

Rodewatch Pro is an optional subscription, offered monthly or yearly. Eligible new subscribers can start with a free trial — one week on the monthly plan, two weeks on the yearly plan. The price, the trial and your eligibility are shown by the App Store before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends; manage or cancel in your Apple account settings. Anchor alerts, GPS-gap warnings, the swing map, the radius helper, the man-overboard marker and the race timer do not need a subscription.

### 1.6 — 2026-09-21

Improved pin selection and swing-radius calculation. Oversized calculations are no longer silently reduced. Clearer GPS-gap and subscription-loading messages.

### 1.5 — 2026-09-08

The number: 6,600 simulated dragging nights across eleven GPS failure modes, 0 missed — now measured on every build and printed here, not promised.

— The morning report draws your night: the circle you set, the track you made, and a ledger of every blind stretch with times. A red line means the GPS never came back.
— The blind alarm repeats every two minutes and the drag alarm every 30 seconds until you answer.
— The watch offers to re-centre the circle when your swing shows the pin was off the anchor.
— Arming waits for a ±20 m fix, and noisy fixes carry less weight: measured, this cuts false alarms from a wrong pin by two thirds and on throttled nights from 41 % to 2 %.
— The armed state is saved every minute, so a process kill costs seconds of the ledger, not minutes.
— The subscription screen keeps asking the App Store until the options arrive.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-27

Eleven lines on the night report — the distances from the anchor, the swing circle, the alarm and fix counts, the resolution — stayed in English whatever language your watch was set to. They are translated now, in every language Rodewatch speaks.

On a watch that had just been set up, the purchase options sometimes came back empty. Rodewatch now gives the App Store up to 15 seconds to answer instead of 1.6.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-22

The morning-after report now speaks your language.

• Eleven rows on the night report — furthest from anchor, average, swing circle, alarms, length, arc covered, blind minutes, fixes kept, resolution — were still in English whichever language you use. All of them are translated now.
• The share title of an exported night is translated too.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-22

• The Rodewatch Pro screen no longer opens empty when the App Store is slow to answer. It waits, retries up to three times, and says plainly if the store really cannot be reached — instead of showing an error before it has even asked.
• Norwegian is declared correctly again. In 1.1 the language code was silently dropped from the app's own declaration, so Norwegian was missing from the list of languages the app speaks.
