The game engine is great and I managed 20hrs gameplay. But one the main 3 hard missions are done there is little else to play for. Feels a bit unfinished and I just want for the developer to have the extra dough to make this really impressive. The only bits I did not like was the auction system which can be a little tedious. Full of good humour but only 3 stars as it has crashed twice and had to be reinstalled meaning that all progress was lost. At the start you have to grind and grind just to be able to access more than three planets and there’s very little to do. So you just go around and around or pay for credits. The whole game seems to be geared towards that, the gameplay is limited and akin to games from the 90s at best. Skip it, try galaxy on fire 2. That’s way way better than this and been around for ages. There are dozens of much better examples than this. The reviews are either people who haven’t looked around or are paid reviews. I would love to see more upscale missions than there are currently in the game. But it just lacks depth. They have everything else right - the tone, the soundtrack, the humour, the handling during dogfights... but after a while it’s literally the same thing over and over. I don’t mind a grind, but this is absolutely the same thing - accept mission, warp, kill pirates, warp, dock, complete mission, accept mission and start again. ### 3/5 — Why not die? *2018-01-10, version 2.0* Dying in this game doesn’t seem like it comes with nearly as stiff a penalty considering you can just pay a small sum or watch a video to respawn like nothing happened. The in app purchase I don't mind. Helpful to speed things up. Bought the game but don't mind you now made it free. This game deserves to be in the spotlight, and I recommend to any sci-fi/dogfight/space exploration fans. Hopefully you guys update and add more stuff into it. The concept of exploring is very well brought to this game and it pulls the player in very well. It could include a cutscene when the ship docks at a port and it could also include 3rd person action also. Why doesn't the Volante have a more powerful hyperdrive? I did get past the mission I complained about last time though. P.s in order to get past the asteroids I restarted the game, so the only mission is the asteroid one, pls add more missions. I finally got to Viper... aaand NOTHING new. Like I said so much time wasted no new missions and Viper has WAY to many pirate gang ups. ### 5/5 — Excelente "space trader" *2017-01-04, version 2.0* Si te gustó Elite y demás juegos del espacio en los que comprabas y vendías recursos, hacías misiones, etc., éste te encantará. Ocupa poco instalado (140MB aprox.), va muy bien en mi 4S y da para muchísimas horas de juego. Además, los desarrolladores están muy pendientes de arreglar fallos y mejorar el juego, y son muy activos en las redes sociales. Si no sabes inglés, aprende, pero no pongas mala calificación al juego porque no entiendes. Tendrías que aprender inglés, en vez de decir que el juego es malo por no estar traducido. If you like Elite and space trading games in general, this is your game. Works like charm on my old 4S, and size is just 140MB installed. Fantastic! This will drain your credits to 0. Every Time you fail mission, credits are subtracted. Would certainly not upgrade to the latest iOS that would render great and rare apps useless. GAME UNINSTALLED!!! (iOS 7.1.2 - iPad 2) ### 1/5 — D tier game with A tier graphic design *2016-01-09, version 1.3* Oh Rogue Star. You have to be my most disappointing game of 2015. When I first saw your trailers & your promises of a gurad shaded style Elite rip off space combat game with a very British sense of humour I was very excited. Unfortunately, the 'indie' of this studio appears to stand for inexperienced. On release the game was so unbalanced as to be literally unplayable with its difficulty spike. On leaving my purchase unplayed for months I decide to revisit it. It would appear that the difficulty has been addressed but replaced with a game breaking stuttering bug on (at least) iPad Air 2, iPad pro and iPhone 6+ Basically, at random whilst playing the game will freeze up for a good 4-5 seconds. Whilst you are frozen, the game actually continues (meaning you can die without any control of your ship). This happens on average at least once every 30 seconds. This essentially makes the game completely unplayable. I hate to do this to a small independent British developer, but the lack of initial support and balance for this product combined with this bug (that has had no communication from the developer that I can see) shows that they appear to be rank amateurs with some graphic design props. You for example can fly into the station through the open hangar doors and end up inside the station model and not in the station menu you usually enter by just hitting a button on your HUD. I am also a bit concerned about long term motivation and repetitiveness as currently all quests I can get are bring object from A to B. Another thing I‘d love is if we could customise our HUD a bit more and change the turn sensitivity. To those who say it's too hard, I say "stick at it": nothing worthwhile is easy, and it takes time and practice. My only negative is, that I've run out of missions! Have I really out-played the programmers' expectations? Please, give us some more updates? There was one mission with a secondary objective ... And I have several items in my inventory that have not become apparent why I have them ... The thing to do is not flick at the joystick but keep your finger on it and slide it it makes battling a bit easier. Also adjust lasers and shields on the left. Keep at it its a good game. It's too hard! If you upgrade to a better ship the difficulty ramps up so you never get on top of it! A pity it's a good game otherwise. Edit they’ve added an easier level for those of us not blessed with great combat skills and it works on latest devices! This is a real game, and it’s clever, fun, and challenging. I really hope the developers bring it to other platforms, such as Android and Switch. It’s essentially open world, and you can choose your path and see the consequences of your actions. But at the beginning of the game, you don’t join a faction of pirates or guardians. You go on missions and protect convoys or destroy them. This will move you along on the spectrum of good and evil.
