Soooooo irritating! PLEASE correct that! And add a simple sleep timer please! I really want to love this app again! ### 1/5 — App is useless *2022-12-25, version 2.0* As other reviews have stated, you can't play the radio in the background so its useless please fix! ### 2/5 — Good, but…. *2022-11-30, version 2.0* The latest update offers a cleaner, more up-to-date interface. However, after the latest update, the content stops playing when the screen turns off or navigating to another app. This means you have to leave the app open and scroll up and down every few minutes (which ain’t happening) to keep it playing. I hope someone from the site will read this and get their act together. Thank you. ### 2/5 — Seems like it’s potentially a good Portal app to Internet Archive content - BUT… *2022-01-15, version 1.6* This app is potentially great for streaming classic radio content BUT there’s a Big problem that made me subtract 3 stars from my rating BECAUSE: The “schedule view” option for all categories doesn’t work or even get past an endlessly turning wheel — darn it all❗️ Developers, please fix this, let me know, and I’ll happily update my review👍. -P.S. It would also be useful if there was a Playlist/Bookmarking function added to the app. Note: I’m using an iPad Pro 10.5” device running iOS 14. ### 1/5 — Latest update pure crap *2020-09-02, version 1.6* Once again when they’ve updated the app it’s quit working. It no longer displays current items being payed on app and the schedules show no information. I give it zero stars as it is Now they’ve changed name to ROKiT and half the channels urls no longer work on internet radios. Namely recieva they play on their app but several quit working when programming on other radios. They also have no way to communicate with them anymore. Old time gold, British comedy 1, American comedy , no longer connect. Was url updated on those? ### 2/5 — What's happened? Your new update is not working. It doesn’t update itself. *2020-02-09* Half the stations don't work anymore. This app needs urgent updating. It used to be excellent, but not anymore 😞 ### 1/5 — Absolutely Abysmal *2018-08-01, version 1.3* Worst app in the store. Audio stops, app freezes and schedule is totally unusable. By the time you have the right time zone and channel the programme is over. Get someone who can write apps and re do it. Until then DELETED!!!!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Useless app *2026-06-06, version 2.0* App does no more than the book marked web page on my browser. Just uses up memory. I installed it in hopes of being able to look at programs available for more than the current hour so I could plan when to listen to my favorite programs. Xm radio, which I admit you pay for, has a nice Excel spreadsheet that gives you 24 hour programming for a channel. I’d like to see what programs are scheduled for the day. I’ll still listen, but not using the app ### 1/5 — Needs Work… *2024-05-06, version 2.0* The apps old radio shows will not continue playing when Smart Cover on my iPad is closed… Why??? This one glitch makes the app virtually useless for entertainment purposes. Station playing is not shown as a main screen . Not compatible with apple large format . No accessibility features. Listings are not current by several minutes ### 1/5 — Useless *2023-11-18, version 2.0* Since the last update you can only listen as long as you’re phone is “awake”. Once the screen goes dark the app stops playing. This, of course, makes the app useless unless you want to continually touch your screen. This has been reported to the developer by several users but nothing has been done. Sad, it was once a great app. Now I use the “Radio Garden” app to listen to my favorite ROK stations. ### 1/5 — Used to be a great app *2023-10-01* After the last update the radio stops after the phone goes on standby mode. So if you want to listen you have to constantly tap the screen. A shame. It used to be an awesome app and apparently the designer isn’t reading the reviews because I’m not the first to complain about this. ### 1/5 — At last, finally got it to work in the background *2023-07-04, version 2.0* Well done!!! You have got the App to work in the background, but now the currently playing doesn’t change . While we’re at it how about changing the listings to show each full day and not the same hour for each day in a row....not easy to find... that’s just madness. Old review:Used to be good, now most of titles of the programs are missing. Sometimes loses the stream. Recordings not always planned so the endings are missed. Planner hard work to use. Now audio stops when iOS Device goes to sleep... absolutely useless !!! Cannot be used... I guess that’s the definition of USELESS... Review July 23: update version 2 Nope still not working in the Background!!!! STILL USELESS! Real shame, was good when it worked. ### 1/5 — Used to be an outstanding app *2023-05-28* That is until the latest update. Now when your phone goes into sleep mode the program stops. It used to be one of my favorite apps but now it’s pretty much useless. ### 1/5 — No background sound. *2023-03-31, version 2.0* Edit: 4 years later, tried the app again. Still no background sound. Literally a fundamental function of a radio app. It’s just a schedule app now and even the website does that. Nicer app and good content BUT you can no longer listen to it in the background or with the screen off. It has been very hard for me to find good old Time radio apps and yours is one of the best however, I want to acknowledge that there is a bug still around that has been persisting for a while now from the looks of it a few years it is the bug that when you put your phone to sleep, the app automatically shuts off. This is annoying when you want to listen to radio stations not to be rude, but this is a very small bug and it shouldn’t be that hard to fix. That’s why I only took off one star I hope that you will give this consideration and try to fix it. I have noticed that other people have had the same problem too. I want to be an advocate for this app because it is a really great app. I just hope that this bug can be fixed. Thank you. ### 4/5 — Great OTR Channels, App Needs Work *2022-05-10, version 1.6* I love the selection of Rokit's channels but I'm hoping the app gets an upgrade. 1 "View Full Schedule" opens a blank page (for all channels) 2 Please add a sleep timer! 3 "Now playing" almost never updates, unless the app is shut down and reopened. But the programming is wonderful! And free! Thank you! ### 3/5 — Still haven’t fixed it! *2026-07-09, version 2.0* I left a review of this app several months ago, and I was hoping this bug would be fixed. However, it still persists! The app still shuts off when your phone goes to sleep. This is bad for those of us who like to fall asleep to old time radio or listen to it in the background. That is why I took off another star. No more listening to it in the background. Also, I’d still love that sleep timer I’ve been asking for! Hope this gets fixed. Really good app otherwise. I enjoy all the shows on here, my favorite being the crime and mystery channels. I love the British shows that are available. To make it perfect, I’d love to have a sleep option. I enjoy listening to it before bed and it would be great to set a timer. This makes the app rather more power intensive than previously since one must set the device to not go to “sleep”.
