### 3/5 — Works well but...

*2021-01-03, version 1.0.4*

I use this app to play dnd and I am in possession of an iPhone 11 but the app will not send an audible alert to my phone notifying me that someone has played there turn it only throws a banner up. This is a huge issue for me because I sometimes miss my turn. The rolling and interface of the actual app for gameplay is beautiful and is everything you want (with the exception of being able to zoom out on the map) but I love the app if you fix the audible notification the app will be deserving of a 5 star review !

### 3/5 — Title was required

*2020-12-26, version 1.0.4*

I can’t sign in.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2025-02-07, version 1.2.6*

Server was incredibly slow,
App kept crashing and freezing…very aggravating

### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work

*2024-08-24, version 1.0.21*

This app is unstable and freezes a lot. I can’t recommend the app, the web client works fine however.

### 1/5 — Freezing up

*2024-07-24, version 1.0.18*

Logged in and everything seems to work fine until starting a new game, and then everything freezes on the keyboard screen. Have restarted and redownloaded but nothing works…

### 2/5 — Keyboard freezes

*2025-01-30, version 1.2.6*

This is actually a great app and I used to use it quite a bit. Unfortunately it has become unstable since the updates have fallen behind. The keyboard completely freezes up when you try to type in the name of a new game. Please continue to update!

### 2/5 — Unstable

*2024-08-06, version 1.0.20*

I used to like this a lot. Great for playing with limited time. App has become very unstable since the most recent update and is crashing consistently. Will upgrade rating when this is addressed.

### 2/5 — Unable to create an account

*2021-05-30, version 1.0.6*

Looks great but hard to tell since I can not create an account.

### 2/5 — Help??

*2021-04-09, version 1.0.4*

It seems like a great game, but theres no option to create an account, only to sign into one. I’ve tried creating one from the signing in, but it just tells me there’s no account with that info and nothing else.. anyone know how to create an account?

### 2/5 — I have encountered a problem

*2021-03-02, version 1.0.4*

Well, it works, but for some reason I am unable to create an account for the app. The only options are “login” and “browse games”. But otherwise, the app looks great.

### 3/5 — Very cool, but…

*2024-10-30, version 1.2.6*

Seems like a great platform for remote ttrpg play, but freezes entirely every time I try to type anything into my character sheet. I can only edit it properly on the RoleGate website, which doesn’t have a proper mobile version and is a bit difficult to navigate at times. I also find it quite disappointing that you need a paid account to add a picture of your character.

### 3/5 — “Works with your iPad”…ish

*2021-06-23, version 1.0.6*

This app works with my iPad and does what it says on the tin, so high points there, but it only works in portrait mode at the size of an iPhone, and not a plus or max size.

### 5/5 — Account help

*2023-04-04, version 1.0.10*

For those who can’t make an account. Search up the game name on google, browse on the website, not the app, and make your account from there, you can figure out the rest. This should work.

### 5/5 — Give it time

*2021-05-15, version 1.0.6*

Great app! Rough around the edges, but I can see the potential. I’ve been surprised at how well the app works for games outside of D&D. I dig it!

### 5/5 — I met the best party on this app.

*2021-04-08, version 1.0.4*

I first found out about rolegate before it was an app. It was a sponsor of a DnD YouTube video, and I decided to check it out. From there, one of the first games I joined was “Star Wars: The Ancient Fear.” This game is still running 2 years later, and the other players, GM, and I now have our own discord where we chat about the game and other things. They’re real great friends, amazing players, and I’m so glad I found them. Thanks, RoleGate.

### 5/5 — Excellent Platform

*2021-02-01, version 1.0.4*

For those of us who have busy lives and miss having the tabletop time, this app remedies that. Well made and thought out.

### 5/5 — Play d&d from anywhere

*2020-10-23, version 1.0.1*

Have a few minutes at work? Roll some dice... rp...cast eldritch blast... this app is awesome, the dev works hard and keeps adding features all the time. Play ttrpgs with your friends and new ppl, anywhere any time.

### 5/5 — Absolutely Terrific

*2020-10-20, version 1.0.1*

From my phone, I can now run role-playing games for my friends across the globe, which has been s life-saver during the coronavirus pandemic.
 It’s amazing.
Thank you!

### 5/5 — I love rolegate

*2020-10-19, version 1.0.1*

When I moved away from my group it felt like my RPG days were over. But nope, I started using rolegate and ran one of the best campaigns of my life. Thank you.

### 4/5 — Great app still buggy

*2024-12-28, version 1.2.6*

Great app live on this thing… however it refuses to give notifications and just freezes when trying into character lists… needs some love… but I still live it.

### 4/5 — Good app, but some issues

*2024-11-25, version 1.2.6*

iPhone is unable to create a campaign. The keyboard does not work when it pops up to enter information.

### 4/5 — A good way to role play or do tabletop

*2021-04-21*

I like the app and it’s flexibility, you can pretty much play nearly any tabletop rpg on here that doesn’t extensively require a battle board set up! The UI itself can be weird to learn, but there are a lot of people on the app who will show you how it works, and all the little features really are useful to know. (Ex. You can hide the ooc chat so it’s easier to read what’s in character and you don’t have to worry about cluttering anything)

A feature I think really helps it be a good option for pbp is the ability to highlight dialogue with tone, no need to always describe how they sound!

The main draw back for some might be getting into a game since there are a lot of players not many dungeon masters, but the nature of it makes gm-ing much easier for people who are new to it. Like if your like me and get nervous talking to people XD.

Yeah there is some things you have to subscribe to get, but not having those things really doesn’t impact anything, so if you want to donate money it’s basically you get some nice extras!
