### 3/5 — Holidays

*2021-05-29, version 4.0.5*

Why does this app not account for holidays? That is extremely annoying.

### 3/5 — Bugs need fixing!

*2020-11-18, version 4.0.5*

This is a five star app when it works. Currently can only see the recycling days and nothing else, even after the latest update. Please fix!

### 4/5 — Data is backwards again.

*2019-02-11, version 4.0.3*

Thank you for the app! Quick method to check schedules. However, the schedules are showing backwards. A and B seem to be reversed.

Thanks again.

### 2/5 — Out of sync

*2018-03-25, version 4.0.1*

Days are off by one, weekly is on Friday, shows date on Thursdays

### 4/5 — Great idea but wrong

*2018-02-05, version 4.0.1*

I was excited to see the city rolled out this app. You can enter your address or "Use this Location" and set when to be reminded of all of the different pickup days. But the app has it WRONG. It has my pickup weeks reversed from my actual schedule as shown on the official 2017 Bi-Weekly Collection Schedule. The APP needs some work!

Thanks for fixing the APP and for your developer response. Schedule is populating correctly now. I’ve upgraded to 4 Stars. It would be worth 5 Stars to see current updates from Solid Waste like when they plan to resume heavy trash pickup.

**Developer response:** Hey sorry there was a bug that has long been fixed! Sorry for the inconvenience, if you ever have a problem feel free to reach out!

### 5/5 — Update

*2018-02-05, version 4.0.1*

My original review was titled “Doesn't handle holidays well…”. This appears to have been fixed.

### 4/5 — Address search issue has been fixed. Works well.

*2018-02-04, version 4.0.1*

Works now. Schedule can be found by my address.

### 5/5 — need heavy trash variations

*2018-02-01, version 4.0.1*

shows heavy trash as tree and junk for every month, but it should alternate

Update: has been corrected. Great app!

### 2/5 — Jan 15 update busts display

*2018-01-29, version 4.0.1*

After update, on iPhone 6s/iOS 10, days are shown left to right. Only one day shows and other days are off the screen to the right. Scrolling disabled.

### 5/5 — So handy!

*2017-03-22, version 3.0.0*

I love the simplicity of the app. Super useful!

### 5/5 — Love this app - use it weekly

*2017-01-07, version 3.0.0*

I really do rely on this app on a weekly basis ever since it rolled out. With Houston's biweekly recycling pickup I find myself consulting the app every trash day. When I recently notified the developer of an schedule error the problem was corrected in hours. Thanks so much for this most wonderful app.

### 5/5 — Responsive developer

*2017-01-07, version 3.0.0*

After emailing the developer, he was responsive and quick to address the issue with the schedule.

### 2/5 — Schedule is wrong

*2017-01-05, version 3.0.0*

The app is totally backwards on its mainfunction of advising of specific trash/recycling pick up at one's home, as the schedule it shows for my address does not matchthe 2017 on-line recycling calendar just published by the City of Houston. The app does have some good general info about trash guidelines, recycling drop-off centers, etc., but some users may not even find it, as the only way to access that info is to accidentally tap an icons on the page with the incorrect info. Good idea, but needs work. Hope corrections are made, as it would be very useful if accurate!!!

### 2/5 — Useful but not great

*2016-12-27, version 3.0.0*

Frustrating that the app does not update schedules for holidays. Instead, the app refers you to a website for the schedule. Not sure of the point if the app does not consolidate that type of information.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2016-09-21, version 2.1.0*

This is super useful. I can never find the waste pickup schedule on the city website.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No info

*2019-12-20, version 4.0.3*

I was able to get the trash day and recycle day but nothing about waste day.

### 1/5 — Data no longer correct

*2019-02-11, version 4.0.3*

“Don’t miss a recycling day”? Don’t bet on it. This app does not show the correct recycling schedule any more: it is off by a week, which means that, as far as recycling is concerned, it is ALWAYS wrong.

### 1/5 — Still useless

*2018-03-22, version 4.0.1*

The app used to work but now it is still showing the wrong schedule. Im on Thursday pick ups and app shows Wednesdays... about to delete it for good

### 1/5 — Waste - yes pun intended

*2016-04-19, version 1.2.0*

Useless. Doesn't work. Why does the city promote this app when it doesn't do you any good. I'll just rely on my reminders on my phone.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2016-04-14, version 1.2.0*

It can't find my address. Worthless.

### 1/5 — Location doesn't work

*2016-04-07, version 1.2.0*

Both my husband and I tried to have the app location, and it said it couldn't find us. I restarted my phone and tried again with no luck

### 1/5 — Deleting. App not working.

*2016-03-03, version 1.2.0*

Disappointing. A good concept but not if the app developer doesn't manage the info, aka bailed on the app. 😡

### 1/5 — Not worth the space

*2016-02-10, version 1.2.0*

I downloaded this app and then I deleted it. It could've been really great, but it is so limited it is not worth the MB's of space you have to waste for it. You can input your address for your specific schedule, but then it uses the entire screen to tell you what pickup happens that week. Big waste of space. To make it worthwhile, it could have lots more information. It could include holiday trash scheduling. It would also be great if it would give you a list of the city approved compostable bags for yard waste and some idea where you can buy them. That information is available online so it could be in the app. Also, it would be very helpful if there was a page that lists recycling locations in the city - not only for electronics and that sort of thing, but also the location on So Post Oak for chemicals, paint, etc. It could tell you where and how to dispose of construction waste. Again, the city posts all that info online so why don't they have it in this app as well? Alternatively, it could provide links to find the information online. I was hoping it would be very helpful, but it really isn't. Hopefully, they will put more effort into it and improve the app.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t reflect holiday schedule

*2021-05-31, version 4.0.5*

Why doesn’t this app reflect the holiday schedule? Today is Memorial Day 2021 but yet the app says my trash will be picked up. But it won’t. Until tomorrow. Such a simple app should know Houston’s holiday schedule.

### 2/5 — Wrong schedule!

*2021-01-04, version 4.0.5*

We moved zip codes in Houston from 77018 to 77026 and our trash/recycling schedule is opposite of what it should be! I called the city and they told me not use an app not ran by the city.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Rick

*2024-03-19, version 4.0.5*

I installed this app shortly after moving to Kingwood in June 2024 and the recycling which is supposed to be picked up every other Tuesday never happened. It was picked up on Wednesdays. This often resulted in the recycling bins being left out for two days. After contacting the developer a couple of weeks ago requesting information he took it upon himself to contact the city of Houston and today the recycling truck came around a couple of hours after trash pickup. Fortunately I was home and heard it down the street and was able to get my bin to the street. Unfortunately, many neighbors were not home so I expect their recycling bins will be out tomorrow, for no telling how long! Let’s hope this glitch has been resolved and everyone will be on the same schedule soon!

### 5/5 — So happy this was recommended to me

*2024-01-09, version 4.0.5*

We had been going online to the HTX trash pickup website and it was just a hassle. Then we learned about the HTX trash app but it was often wrong or not updated. FINALLY someone on Nextdoor mentioned this app in a comment section and it’s cut a lot of wasted time worrying about trash/recycling/ bulk days and wasted time moving the different cans up and down the back area and driveway. Not to mention having to move vehicles or ask neighbors to move vehicles, if parked too close or right where the cans go. Waaaayy too long of a review just to say I’m happy this app exists and the schedules are updated well. Thanks developer!

### 5/5 — Simple yet effective!

*2022-05-21, version 4.0.5*

It does what it’s supposed to - reminds me of the proper local trash schedule & details! Works like a charm - Perfect!

### 5/5 — Very convenient and responsive!

*2020-11-05, version 4.0.5*

This is a great little app. If you have an issue (like it didn’t load the address once for me), just contact them and it is quickly addressed! Wonderful and responsive service! Thanks!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-11-03, version 4.0.5*

This is probably one of the most useful apps I have
Love it
love the friendly reminders

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-11-02, version 4.0.5*

I can’t remember garbage, recycling, heavy trash, tree waste pick up dates. This app is very helpful to search any property and remind you to take out the trash in the City of Houston. Tell your friends to download the app. -act

### 5/5 — Simple and helpful!

*2020-05-31, version 4.0.4*

I’ve been using this a few years and have no complaints. It’s a great little app and I refer to it often.

### 5/5 — The city of Houston now recycles glass!

*2020-01-12, version 4.0.3*

There is a message within Rollout that states that the city of Houston does not recycle glass in the bins. The city started recycling glass again so glass in bins is OK!

### 5/5 — More useful than you think!!

*2019-12-08, version 4.0.3*

You wouldn’t think an app like this would be necessary, right? Wrong! Even the best of us need a reminder (some need a CONSTANT reminder) what week it is. Is this recycling pick up week? Is heavy trash pick up this week or next? Is it junk waste or tree limbs? This simple app puts the answers right at your fingertips. No more trying to maneuver the city website. I use it all the time and my neighbors should too. Being on the board of the HOA not a week goes by that I don’t get a call inquiring about trash pick up. It’s great for new residents who aren’t familiar with the schedule
ALSO I have a friend who is a real estate agent. He is always asking me to use my Rollout app and tell him when pick up is in at a certain address so he can tell contractors or cleaning people at his listings when they can put the trash at the curb. A great tool for anyone cleaning out a house in a neighborhood where they don’t know the schedule. I’ve also been told by a “picker” who goes around the day before heavy trash day looking for treasurers that people throw away, that he uses it to chart his course for the week.
There are a lot of uses for lots of different people. It’s a great app!! Very helpful and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2019-04-26, version 4.0.3*

Very helpful! The COH web page is so confusing, this is great.
