## What is Ronri?

Practise critical thinking. Keep your own judgement.

Give your curiosity somewhere to go. With Ronri, you can work through a reasoning problem, explore a word across languages and return to what you’ve learned. Build a regular study habit on your iPhone, then use timed exam practice to check your progress.

Find a skill worth practising
Explore sixteen skills for learning, work and everyday judgement, including critical thinking, analytical thinking and media literacy. The skills map draws on the OECD Learning Compass, DigComp and WEF skills outlook as curriculum references.

Give your reasoning a workout
Choose your level and try a short, free set of questions. Read an argument closely, work through a numerical problem, spot a pattern or picture a shape in space. Take time to form your own answer.

Follow a word across languages
Compare meanings across connected dictionary entries in Japanese, Chinese, English, German, French, Latin, Korean and Arabic. Read explanations in a language you know and explore how expressions relate. Available connections vary by entry and meaning.

Search by text, voice or character, or browse words, phrases and idioms. Listen to the pronunciation and say it aloud. Chinese readings include Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence adds definitions, usage notes and explanations.

Today’s exercise
Swipe through colourful exercise cards and explore 957 free exercises, including 316 focused on critical thinking. Start up to 5 new exercises a day and 15 a week for free; revisit started exercises anytime. Subscribers unlock unlimited starts, exam practice and quantitative reasoning.

Turn your material into something to remember
Create draft flashcards from a PDF, check the questions and answers, then save them to your own decks. Try to recall each answer before turning the card over, and rate how well you remembered it.

You can also write your own cards, import a CSV or photograph text to save words for later. Keep your own material alongside Word Book in Cards.

Look closer at language
Practise writing kanji, hiragana and katakana to connect shape, sound and meaning. Explore word roots, prefixes, suffixes and forms. Study JLPT N5–N1, HSK and TOPIK grammar through examples, with Apple Intelligence explanations on supported devices.

Let a word lead you to a poem
Read Japanese haiku, tanka and Hyakunin Isshu, Chinese Tang poetry and Song ci, and selected public-domain English and French poems. Browse Japanese works by poet, period or season. Discover how rhythm, imagery and context bring familiar words to life.

Put your learning to the test
Use focused practice for listening, reading and reasoning, then take a timed mock to check your accuracy and pacing. Practice spans:
• Languages: IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, JLPT, HSK, TOPIK and OET.
• Admissions and aptitude: LSAT, LNAT, TARA, GMAT, UCAT and GAMSAT.
• Professional qualifications: CFA, FRM, SQE1, NCLEX-RN and NMC CBT.
• School and selection tests: HAST, NAPLAN and HSC.

Preparing for an internship or graduate role? Explore psychometric and online aptitude practice in Career.

Start at your own pace
Dictionaries, poetry and reasoning drills work without an account. Optional Super and Max subscriptions offer additional access; features and limits vary by plan.

Apple Intelligence requires a compatible device with the feature enabled and a supported language and region. PDF card generation and the mock exam question bank require an internet connection.
