## What is Roof Guide?

Roofing and framing carpentry calculator, decking, stairs, concrete, stud wall calculators.
In additions to the roof calculators the decking / flooring, stud wall and concrete calculators also estimate quantities and costs.
US or metric measurements.
Developed by a carpenter and builder,  used by carpenters, roofers, contractors, builders and construction pro 's  in over 40 countries around the world.

Roof Guide (previously Roofers Guide) is not a 'How to App’ - you know how!
It is designed to save you the time and effort required for roof, framing, deck, stairs & other building / construction calculations

Accurate, reliable and easy to use, it is an indispensable tool for the construction pro.
Metric or Imperial (feet, inches and fractions of an inch (or decimal)
Print, email or reports.

Never forget your span or rafter tables, red roofing book and other standalone construction calculators again! 

CALCULATIONS INCLUDE:

ROOF FRAMING:-
- Rafter,Hip/Valley Lengths
- Multiple cut angles, including for compound saw
- Template (adjustable) sizes for the same cuts - where used
- Setout of Creepers/Jack Rafters(US), ridge and wall
- Roof Pitch Factor degrees, inches (US), D:M:S
- Rise : Run ratio
- Birdsmouth calculations
- Drop or Chamfer Hip adjustments
- Multiple heights measures, including:- top/bottom of ridge, roof centre, 
- Hypotenuse calculations eg: Calculate Pitch from ridge rise
- Adjust pitching plate heights where one wall is higher eg Bulkheads
- Ridge length, area, rake factors
- Print, email or message reports

DECKING & FLOORING SETOUT, MATERIAL ESTIMATING and COSTING:-
- Options for Insets, single or double bearers 
- Set Spacing type to maximum, fixed or equal
- Set pricing for materials / labour to calculate cost and cost/area

TIMBER SETOUT:-
- Set Spacing type to maximum, fixed or equal
- Insets at start and end.

STUD WALLS SETOUT, MATERIAL ESTIMATING and COSTING:-
- Raked or flat walls
- Sizing, Quantity & Cost Estimates - Timber (studs, noggins, plates) & Sheeting
- Comprehensive setout lists - bottom, top
- Align sheets on width, length or no sheets

STAIR FRAMING (currently for single stair runs):- 
Permits Multiple restrictions on risers, treads, inclines and also allows application of 2R+G (2R+TD in US) in jurisdictions required - to meet standards.
Other than StairCalc (which is our Stair only app) we do not know of an app that does this simultaneously.
Also calculations allow for situations where the overall stair rise and run are fixed or variable allowing maximum flexibility.

CONCRETE CALCULATOR / ESTIMATOR:- 
- Calculate quantities for  slabs, footings,round and rectangular/square holes.

CONVERTER:- 
- Convert Lengths, Area, Volume: Metric and US/Imperial.
- Work in Decimal units or Yds/Ft/In/Fraction format to Metric, decimal US.

EASY TO USE GENERAL CALCULATOR WITH TAPE:
- Calculate (add, subtract etc) directly in feet / inches / fractions or  decimals.

Just sat and played around with different roof types to get used to it. Great for hipped roofs. You can even set it for chamfered hip or plain dropped hip. Recommend playing around with it to get used to app. Then on site its quick to set up.

J’aurais aimé être avisé que la version langue française ne se change pas d’ans l’application pourtant c’est bien écrit anglais français

L'App Store a automatiquement détecté les fichiers français lors de la précédente mise à jour de notre version. Les langues supportées ont alors été automatiquement modifiées sur notre page App Store.

This is like having an indispensable new tool in your kit box! I used to use string lines and bevels to set out my roof. Now I am confident enough to enter the basic dimensions, cut in on the ground, before taking it up the scaffold and nailing it together. 
   When I had a problem with the app, I e mailed support, and they replied on Boxing Day! It transpired that I wasu entering data wrongly!
   Money well spent.
