Measure any roof's pitch in seconds. Set your phone on a rafter, ridge, or roof deck and Roof Pitch Gauge reads the slope straight from the built-in accelerometer — no string, no level, no math in your head. The big live readout shows the same pitch four ways at once, so you can talk to anyone on the job: • x:12 rise over run — the classic roofing pitch, like 4:12, 6:12 or 12:12. • Degrees — the true angle of the slope. • Percent grade — handy for low-slope and flat roofs. • Rafter multiplier — the factor that turns your run into rafter length, so you can order and cut lumber right the first time. HOW IT WORKS Roof Pitch Gauge uses your device's motion sensor as an inclinometer. Rest the phone on the slope you want to measure and read the angle — or hold a reading to check it later. A NOTE ON ACCURACY Readings depend on your device's sensor and how flat the phone sits against the surface. Calibrate on a known-level reference first, and treat results as a field estimate, not a substitute for a certified instrument on safety-critical work. ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 1.0.11 — 2026-08-16 Your level calibration now stays put. Set the zero once and it is still there the next time you open the app, instead of quietly reverting to the raw sensor reading. Added a way to clear that calibration and start over.
