## What is Roofing Expert?

Walk off the roof with the report already finished — slope-by-slope damage counts, GPS-stamped photos, the storm data for the date of loss, and the percentage-deductible math already worked out on the page.

Roofing Expert replaces the paper field roof report with a glove-friendly, tap-don't-type workflow built for insurance restoration work — hail, wind, and everything they argue about.

NEW IN 2.0 — YOUR WHOLE CREW, ONE COMPANY
Set up a company and invite your inspectors. When someone finishes a roof they send the report, and it lands with the office — every field, every photo, ready to correct and export. The office sets the letterhead once and everyone prints it. Ask the crew a question against any section with a review note; they see it on the report and mark it handled.
You choose which reports to send. Nothing is sent automatically.

SYNC YOUR OWN DEVICES
Turn on iCloud sync and your iPhone and iPad stay in step through your own iCloud account. Off by default.

CAPTURE EVERYTHING CARRIERS ASK FOR
• One-page intake: customer, carrier, policy & claim numbers, deductible, storm date, date noticed, claim called in, desk & field adjuster contacts
• Visual pickers for roof material, pipe boots by size, goosenecks, off-ridge vents, turtle vents, skylights, drip edge width — plus custom entries for the odd sizes
• Slope-by-slope damage counts across all eight compass facings: hail bruised, wind creased, torn/missing, mechanical
• Hail corroboration built in: shingle strike counts plus soft-metal confirmation checks (window screens, AC unit chalk rub)
• Interior room-by-room: damaged surfaces, leak locations, room measurements, itemized damage
• Exterior collateral, gutters, existing solar arrays with panel counts for detach & reset coordination

STORM CHECKER
Can't pin the date of loss? Pull free NOAA and National Weather Service storm reports near the property so the homeowner can recognize the day it happened. The app presents what was reported; the homeowner chooses.

PHOTO DOCUMENTATION
Every photo is GPS-stamped and time-stamped at capture and tied to a required-shot checklist — address shot, elevations, slope overviews, pitch gauge, close-ups, collateral. The report knows which shots are missing before the carrier does.

SAVE ALWAYS, FLAG MISSING
Real inspections happen before the claim number exists. Reports always save; missing items get flagged in red until resolved — never blocked.

CARRIER-READY PDF IN ONE TAP
Branded with your company letterhead and license numbers. Full damage tables, penetration schedule, photo appendix with coordinates and timestamps. Email it to the desk adjuster in one tap.

APPLE WATCH COMPANION
Count slope damage from your wrist with the Digital Crown while your phone stays in the truck. Syncs live, queues offline.

WORKS WITH NO SIGNAL
Reports are written and saved on your device — no sign-up, no cloud requirement, no waiting on bars at the jobsite. Sync and company sharing are optional, off until you switch them on, and run through Apple's iCloud. We have no server and never receive your reports.

Free to try — your first 3 complete reports are on us. Then subscribe for unlimited inspections: Pro monthly or yearly for you, Office monthly or six-monthly for your whole crew. Lapsed subscriptions keep read-only access to all your reports; your data is never held hostage.

Subscriptions are billed to your Apple Account and renew automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.6 — 2026-09-03

Photo timestamps now record the time zone the photo was taken in, and always use the Gregorian calendar — so dates read correctly no matter how the phone is set. Storm lookups use the same corrected dates.

### 2.0.5 — 2026-09-01

Photo-heavy reports are much smaller. Photos are now downsampled before they go into the PDF — a six-photo report could previously render past the 25 MB limit most email providers enforce, which meant the finished report would not send to the adjuster at all.

The built-in demo report's sample mortgage company is now fictional, finishing the sample-data cleanup started in 2.0.4.

### 2.0.4 — 2026-08-30

Sample data in the built-in demo report now uses clearly fictional insurance carriers and addresses. iPad screenshots have been updated to portrait.

### 2.0.3 — 2026-08-28

This update corrects the sample data shown in our App Store screenshots. There are no changes to how the app works — 2.0.2's fixes to the photo appendix, large photo sends and iCloud messages are all still here.

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-27

FIXES

• A photo that hasn't reached this device yet is now marked clearly in the report's photo appendix. Before, the page printed the shot name, capture time and GPS under an empty box — which reads like documentation of something that was never documented.

• Sending a large set of photos now uploads in small batches, so a dropped connection on a roof no longer restarts the whole thing. Before, one interruption meant re-sending every photo from the beginning.

• When iCloud asks the app to slow down, it now waits and retries instead of failing straight away.

• When a company's iCloud storage is full, the app says so plainly — and says whose account needs the space — instead of reporting a generic error.
