### 2/5 — Can't restart a game

*2012-01-01, version 3.0*

I may have missed something, but I can't find any way to open a new game. I've totaled the score to over 1000 and over 10 hands, but it still won't reset to where I can start a new game. If I could find a way to do that it wouldn't be a bad app.

### 2/5 — Not happy

*2010-06-27, version 0*

Please update to use different scoring methods. We play with a 100 total and minimum bid of 60. Please update.

### 1/5 — Do not buy

*2010-01-04*

You can only add up to four players and with rook it is unlikely you will play with less than five players. I could hence not do much with the app and found it utterly useless!

### 3/5 — Like it but need a update

*2009-12-22, version 0*

It is a good app. But if you could and in the option to set what the cards score for that would be great or you could change the biding screen up so I could just enter what the bid is. That would work too. Thanks for the app.

### 1/5 — crap

*2009-12-21, version 0*

this rook game is retarted. dont even gwt to play all u do is bid then call trumps and pick how many points u caught. stupid!!!!!!!

### 2/5 — needs one more scoring option to 150

*2009-10-23, version 0*

Game we play scores total of 150. Rook worth 20 and Red One worth 30.. 10's and 14's worth 10 pts and 5's worth 5 pts, and removing all one's but the Red one which is high scoring card. That option not on this app, therefore will not keep our score correctly. If that option available will work great.

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2009-10-04, version 0*

Developer refuses to add any updates!

### 3/5 — a

*2009-03-27, version 0*

U need 2 develope the rook card game

### 1/5 — Crap

*2009-02-01, version 0*

Crap... Somebody make a good version of rook... mine crashes before it even starts!

### 3/5 — On track with room

*2009-01-16, version 0*

I like it with a couple of upgrades if you could. It needs to be able to undo, back up to previous point and to edit. It is geeky to enter names from the address book but direct entry would be nice also. Last would be playing the version where the 1 counts as 15 for 180 points with start min. bid of 90. (right now any mistake and there is no way to fix it) oh, it doesn't cover penalties for misplay.

### 1/5 — Problems after updates

*2026-01-18*

I could find a way to contact Kevin directly so I hope he sees this. The app does still work and is still functional and can be used to keep score. However, if you close the app it will completely reset and you’ll lose everything. Game history is now a thing of the past. When you select a team to put their score in, it gives that score to the other team. (Just have to know to reverse it and it does still work.) I’m not sure why there are so many bugs with something that was just updated but I do appreciate the app and that it’s free. I have no issue changing my rating when these issues are fixed.

### 1/5 — Please go back!

*2021-12-19, version 7.0.1*

I used this app years ago, and it was great. The changes are terrible. I paid $.99, and it doesn’t even work right.

### 1/5 — Great idea. Bad execution.

*2021-07-25, version 6.1*

Was excited to see an app that allows you to score rook correctly with the betting system. Was very excited to see it even accommodates the “Baby bird” and “Red 1” versions of the game, but when I tried to use this feature I found it was broken. No matter what you assign the value to this option, it will be scored as 20. It literally has an input field for you to set the value of this card, then it ignores whatever you put in and uses a value of 20.

Tried to get help via the developers wiki page but there is literally no way to contact the developer there, and the wiki is full of broken links.

If the developers are reading these, I also find it very strange that you can set a call partner, but then when scoring it gives you the option to not score with your partner. Odd that you have to manually tell it each time to count your points together.

### 1/5 — Total points possible in game

*2012-02-27, version 3.2*

I have played rook since I was a kid and we always played with 2 rooks: the rook and black 1. The rook was worth 30 points and the black 1 was worth 20 points for a total of 150 points in a game. I do not see a way to set the scorecard for 150 points without making the black 1 worth 30 points. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? How many points do you play for in a hand?

### 1/5 — Incorrect Description

*2012-01-27, version 3.0.1*

I bought this application thinking it would be compatible with my 1st generation ipod touch because it says here it is compatible with the ipod touch and now I can't use it. I have tried reaching out to the support team to get a refund and have never heard back. So people with ipod touch please beware before spending money on this application. :-(

### 1/5 — New update needs help

*2012-01-01, version 3.0*

Can't restart game and zero out score since update. Dealer box does not move after the hand is recorded. All of these things worked before the update. Please fix.

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY!!!!

*2011-12-06, version 2.1*

Just purchased and it won't open. Don't waste your money!!!!

### 1/5 — Crap

*2011-11-25, version 2.1*

I cant set the score manually. Needed to catch up but then it got confused and would crash as soon as loaded.

### 1/5 — Thanks for creating it.

*2010-10-11, version 0*

Now just need to stop it from crashing. Or give my $0.99 back.

And a secret partner option would be great.

### 1/5 — rook sc

*2010-09-12, version 0*

Would not have bought this if had known it was a ROOK Scorecard and not the game itself...what a scam!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Update

*2012-04-18, version 3.3*

Great addition to an already solid app. Thanks for adding the ability to play with called partners and 6 players. The interface is very intuitive and easy to learn. The only thing that would be nice to see yet is the ability to track what card was chosen as partner when playing called partners.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2012-02-17, version 3.2*

Beautiful. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2012-02-04, version 3.2*

My family plays Rook every time we get together, and this app is exactly what we need and it works just as expected. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Excellen

*2011-11-14, version 2.1*

We always forget dealer and this app saves the day. Wonderful.

### 4/5 — Muck better than the update

*2026-02-15, version 8.2.1*

Functions a lot better now.

### 4/5 — Rook app

*2012-06-09, version 3.4*

Would be good to have for iPad resolution as well

Scoring options, this app scores differently than described in all the card sets

### 4/5 — Rook Scorecard

*2012-01-02, version 3.0*

Works fine. (Swipe on current game to start new game.)

### 4/5 — Rook

*2011-12-31, version 3.0*

Great app. If you are a Rook player, this is a must have. Just needs a few upgrades, but I can't figure out how to email the developer.. 1) needs a way to edit the dealer ( when things get out of sorts) 2) need to be able to review the score once the bidding has started, 3) rare but it does happen - scoring for a renigged hand, and 4) way to edit the bid during the bidding process and not after the bidding is complete (go back button). Don't get me wrong, it is a great app, just needs a little tweaking....

### 4/5 — Awesome

*2010-10-02, version 0*

Love this app cus I'm too lazy to keep my own score. Love the option to add 1's as 15 because that's how we play. One request tho: sometimes we play to 200. The team with the most books gets 20 points so if there was a way to turn that off and on and then pick the team that gets the most books.. That would get 5 stars from me!

### 3/5 — You're getting there.

*2012-10-03, version 4.0*

I am an avid rook player and got this app when it first came out in the hopes that I could use it. It wasn't till this latest up date that I would consider it. I like how the new version is laid out. Getting to call partners is huge. I would give this app 5 stars if you would add the option for 2,3, and 5 players. If you don't know how that's played 2 players is just man on man. The play is different but the scoring is the same. In 3 man, there is no partner. It's every man for him self each person collects their own points, however it's the combined score of the opposing players that determines if the declared makes his/her bid. In 5 man, the person who takes bid calls one partner, and it becomes 2 against 3. I know a number of people who play this game and would love this app if you added those features. I'll keep watching for the new updates. When you get there I'll start pushing them to get it.
