Customer service was really apologetic and eager to make it right. Had another buggy situation trying to book elsewhere but it all worked in the end and service was polite and professional about it. I just spoke with their customer support and they were very fantastic ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible experience *2025-01-27* I had high hopes for Roomer, but my experience was nothing short of disappointing. The concept of booking by video sounds great in theory, but the execution is severely lacking. First, the app is glitchy and slow. It crashed multiple times while I was trying to browse listings, and the search function often returned irrelevant results. When I finally found a reservation that seemed like a good deal, the booking process was anything but smooth. The app kept freezing, and I had to restart it several times just to complete the transaction. Worse, the customer service was unhelpful and unresponsive. I had a question about the reservation I purchased, but it took days to get a reply, and when I did, the response was generic and didn’t address my issue. It felt like they didn’t care about resolving my problem. To top it all off, when I arrived at the hotel, there was an issue with the reservation. The hotel claimed they had no record of it, and I had to spend hours sorting it out with both the hotel and Roomer’s support team. It was a nightmare and completely ruined the start of my trip. Overall, Roomer feels like a poorly managed platform with little regard for user experience. Save yourself the trouble and book directly with the hotel or use a more reliable service. Best regards, John Customer Service Team, Roomer ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work and wasted a lot of time *2024-12-13* I had booked a hotel I couldn’t cancel and used Google to find out what to do. This was a site recommended, so I went on it, put in all of the info, and had to confirm everything through an email. I thought that would be the last step, but nooooooo. It took me to the app, where it didn’t transfer everything that I did. But I really want to sell this hotel so I just was going to do everything on the app, all over again. The hotel can’t be found in the listing, so….i can’t sell it. Thanks a lot for wasting my time, twice in a row! I sold a room at the beginning of March. I reached out after the ten days past checkout time had been reached since I hadn’t received payment. I was told that my claim was being sent to the finance team. No reply. I recently reach out again (over a month since I last reached out!) and was given the same answer that my claim would be sent to the finance team. I was given no explanation regarding why my payment was delayed or when it would be resolved. It seems like roomer delays payments long enough that sellers forget or become frustrated and give up on receiving payment. Do not be fooled by this company who looks to make a profit without holding up their end of the bargain. ### 1/5 — Terribly Designed App *2018-05-08, version 2.4.2* Not sure how the service works because I couldn’t even figure out how to register, let alone add a hotel room for someone to purchase. I learned about the app on The DRs ( #thedrs ) and it sounded great but after downloading all I could do was read their own accolades and search for hotels in London. Since I’m trying to sell a hotel room on Texas that doesn’t really help. Seems they need to get their IT team to update the app, especially after reading the other reviews... ### 1/5 — AWFUL *2017-04-30* Absolutely horrible. I booked a room for a get away with my mom, grandma, and aunt a month earlier than we were going. We went wine tasting and showed up at the hotel at 4 pm for check in. They had zero information on me, and zero record of me booking. They were at captivity. I hat 6 phone calls with Roomer customer service. I talked to Paul, Raymond, and Aki (probably fake names). Three hours after waiting in the lobby and 6 conversations later, we left. They took my money and had zero resolution to the problem. This is a completely fake website. They will not book you a room but they will take your money. I am taking them to court to refund me, because they still have it refunded me. DO NOT book on this site. Do not. You just have to scroll thru everything available and it's not even alphabetical. ### 1/5 — Worst company ever. *2016-09-12, version 1.2.0* I sold 2 rooms on roomer. The 1st payment was 2 days late and the 2nd payment is already over a month late I still have not received anything. Their staff are not qualified to answer any questions as they are literally clueless. They just keep putting off my pavement and blaming someone else. Their service is terrible and no one every answers the phone. Do NOT use this service to sell your room, it is not worth it, you might not even get your money. My most recent experience I mentioned that I was traveling for my anniversary and the team also helped me customize my itinerary. Overall a great experience. I think they are also improving their services.
