## What is Roost Run?

One button. Six caves. Don't hit anything.

Roost Run is a one-button flyer with no random level generation and no filler. Six caves, each hand-tuned, each with its own rocks, its own physics and its own way of being difficult.

THE CAVES

The main cave has spikes. The lava depths have needles, in pickets, and a floor that kills. The ice cave has slides you ride without flapping — stay glued and you keep the speed, flap and you lose it. The flooded gallery has pools you dive into, where gravity is a fraction of what it was and getting out is the expensive half. Up top the ceiling is lethal and the rocks come in combs you have to weave through. The root cellar has curtains you can fly through at the cost of momentum, and knots you cannot.

Six venues, six ways of moving.

NOT DYING IS THE POINT

Every obstacle you pass builds a multiplier. Die and you lose it. Finish a whole level without dying and it pays several times what the level itself was worth — and the bonus grows with every clean level in a row, so a flawless game through all six is worth about ten times a scrappy one. There is one best score, and it is the only thing that survives the session.

FAIR BY CONSTRUCTION

Every level is baked, not generated at runtime, so the game is the same every time and learnable. Before any level ships it goes through a solver that proves eight things about it: that a route exists at all; that the survivable corridor never pinches below a measured floor; that every checkpoint can be survived whether you play instantly, flap on arrival, or freeze for a moment; that every checkpoint has room to see what is coming; that every piece of fruit can actually be reached, and that none of it sits on the line you were flying anyway; that every pool holds water; and that every ice slide lands inside the tunnel it fires at.

If a level fails one of those, it does not ship.

NINE CHECKPOINTS PER LEVEL

At ten percent intervals, each one proven survivable from a standing start. Dying costs you the run, not the afternoon.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-09-08

One finger now. Tap anywhere to flap — and swipe to dart.

FOUR NEW MOVES
• Swipe up — the bat fills itself with air and climbs
• Swipe down — drop
• Swipe forward — surge ahead through a gap
• Swipe back — brake. And braking really buys you room: it moves you along the cave
rather than slowing the whole world down, so the rock keeps coming while you don't.

SEE IT COMING
• The ceiling cracks above a falling rock before it lets go
• Lava bubbles before it spits

ALSO IN THIS UPDATE
• Every obstacle scores now. Islands, root knots, blocks, ramps, curtains, boulders and
lava all pay — several of them never did.
• A clean level gets announced properly, next to the number it just changed
• Bigger menus and score on phones
• A card at the start showing the four swipes

### 1.0 — 2026-09-03
