## What is Root?

Root is a personal space where ideas and everyday life take root.

KEEP WHAT INSPIRES YOU
Collect photos, text, and stickers on boards. Capture a moment or turn your own photos into stickers to make each board yours.

GIVE YOUR IDEAS ROOM TO GROW
Organize boards in folders and build a hierarchy for your projects. Keep everyday memories, creative inspiration, and work plans together without mixing them up.

TURN A BOARD INTO A GOAL
Manage a board as a goal, organize subgoals, set priorities and dates, and use reminders to stay connected to what matters. Keep ongoing, completed, and archived goals separate.

MAKE SPACE FOR TODAY
Quickly capture tasks, add times and reminders when needed, and view your day in the calendar. Connect a task to a board or goal to keep the bigger picture close.

YOUR OWN PERSONAL SPACE
Start without creating a Root account. Export and restore your workspace using backup files.

ROOT PRO
Root is free to download, with an optional auto-renewable Root Pro subscription for additional features. Available plans and local prices are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.

- Draw right on your boards. The pen and eraser are for everyone; the pencil and watercolor brush come with Pro.
- Add videos to notes and play them in place. Put photos side by side and resize them.
- Home Screen widgets show today, this week and this month at a glance.
- Connect Apple Calendar and Root's plans gather in a "Root" calendar. You can move any plan to another calendar.
- Repeat plans and to-dos every day, week, month or year.
- Bookmark notes, and sort each list its own way.
- Saving and syncing are more reliable.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-10-17

- Apple Calendar sync: see your events in Root, kept the same on both sides.
- Note links: jump from a note straight to another note.
- Pin notes to boards, and write right away with T.
- Gather boards, notes and photos on a task, and organize with calendar categories.
- Create all-day events that span several days.
- Smoother screen transitions and bug fixes.

Fixed the Face ID lock setting showing as off, and a glitch when dragging a locked item.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-13

• Goals and boards, your way: a goal can stay just a goal, and gets its own board when you turn on “Use Board”.
• Archive is now a chip on the Home filter row. Archived boards are view-only until you take them out.
• A short introduction when you first open Root.
• A Select button on Home: pick several boards to move, bookmark, archive, or delete at once.
• Clearer guides that show each gesture right where you use it.
• Root Pro now has a yearly plan.
• Fixes for the status bar on iPhones with a notch, and for moving items linked by arrows.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-06

Notes are here. Write longer thoughts in a note, with checklists and photos.

· Calendar: events, a day timetable, and reminders from 10 minutes to a day before
