## What is Root?

A thought worth keeping. A day worth remembering. A plan you want to make real.
Root brings notes, a photo diary, boards and everyday plans into your own personal space.

GIVE YOUR THOUGHTS A HOME
Write quick notes or develop an idea with photos, videos and checklists. Link related notes so the next thought is always close. Keep the notes you return to on a board.

MAKE A DIARY THAT LOOKS LIKE YOUR DAY
Keep a few words, a favorite photo or an instant-film print. Arrange photos and stickers on the page, then share the whole diary as one image. Return to your memories by day, week or month.

COLLECT WHAT YOU LOVE
Build boards with photos, notes, stickers and drawings. Turn your own photo subjects into stickers. Add a board inside another board to keep inspiration and projects together.

TURN IDEAS INTO EVERYDAY PLANS
Keep tasks, repeating schedules and reminders alongside your calendar. Connect a note, photo or board to a plan. Break a goal into smaller steps and keep moving toward it. Apple Calendar integration is optional.

ROOT PRO
Make more room with unlimited boards, photo diaries beyond the free allowance, Pro sticker packs, extra decorating tools and Home Screen widgets. Pro also includes iCloud sync and app lock. The app shows which features require Pro.

YOUR PERSONAL SPACE
No Root account required. Your workspace is private, with backup export and restore. Optional diary reminders and morning schedule briefings can be turned off in Settings.

Root is free to download with optional monthly and yearly auto-renewable Root Pro subscriptions. Local prices and any eligible trial are shown before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.5 — 2026-11-04

- Save to Root from anywhere. Share a photo or link you're looking at, and it goes right into a note or board.
- Draw shapes on your boards. Add rectangles, circles, triangles and diamonds, and write inside them.
- Arrows bend now, and attach to the side you want.
- Home is lighter, so it opens faster even with lots of boards.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-11-01

- A new diary: keep each day with one photo and one line. Hold the Calendar tab to open it.
- Root fits iPhone Duo, folded and unfolded.
- A fresh start: choose your name and photo, then learn Root with the welcome board and guide.
- Drag notes into folders, just like boards.
- Faster and more reliable.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-10-20

- Draw right on your boards. The pen and eraser are for everyone; the pencil and watercolor brush come with Pro.
- Add videos to notes and play them in place. Put photos side by side and resize them.
- Home Screen widgets show today, this week and this month at a glance.
- Connect Apple Calendar and Root's plans gather in a "Root" calendar. You can move any plan to another calendar.
- Repeat plans and to-dos every day, week, month or year.
- Bookmark notes, and sort each list its own way.
- Saving and syncing are more reliable.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-10-17

- Apple Calendar sync: see your events in Root, kept the same on both sides.
- Note links: jump from a note straight to another note.
- Pin notes to boards, and write right away with T.
- Gather boards, notes and photos on a task, and organize with calendar categories.
- Create all-day events that span several days.
- Smoother screen transitions and bug fixes.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-13

Fixed the Face ID lock setting showing as off, and a glitch when dragging a locked item.
