## What is RootStall?

RootStall is where Hawaii's local markets, craft fairs, and community
events live.

FIND WHAT'S HAPPENING
Browse markets and events across the islands. See who's vending before
you go, save the ones you want, and get directions when you're ready.

FOR VENDORS
Build your profile once and apply to markets in a tap. Your photos,
categories, and history travel with you, so you're not starting from
scratch with every new organizer.

FOR ORGANIZERS
Run the whole event from your phone:
• A shareable event page you can style with your own colors and flyer
• Vendor applications, reviewed and approved in one place
• Booth layout — assign spaces and let vendors see where they are
• Guest registration with no account required
• Ticket types, prices, and limits
• Day-of check-in for guests, vendors, and tickets
• Door staff with per-person permissions

BUILT IN HAWAII
RootStall was built in Waimanalo, for the people who set up tables at
6am and the families who show up. Free to browse, free to apply, free
for organizers to run their event.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.5 — 2026-09-03

Signup sheets — organizers can now post volunteer slots and shifts, and
people claim them straight from the event link without an account.

• See who's on which slot, with contact details and a running count of
  what's still open
• Volunteers get a schedule showing when they're on and who's with them,
and can claim an open slot from that screen
• Waitlists fill automatically when a slot is full
• Check volunteers in on the day, same as guests and vendors

Team permissions — add people by email and choose exactly what each one
can reach: guest registration, tickets, vendors, or signups. Owners can
now manage the team; managers run the listing.

Fixes
• Vendor applications no longer show "Application unavailable" on
  listings without a saved form
• The signup roster loads correctly for organizers and co-hosts
• Chat and description editors no longer hide behind the keyboard

### 1.9.4 — 2026-09-02

Paste a Google Form link and RootStall reads your vendor questions straight off the page — no retyping the form you already have.

A rebuilt apply form. Questions sit on their own step, documents you mark required actually block submission, and anything still missing is a button that takes you straight to it. Questions can now ask for a date, with a calendar.

Event schedules. Build the day as named schedules with tabs, drag to reorder, and times that can be exact, all day, or grouped under the slot above.

Tickets open to who bought them, and there's a way to scan people in at the door.

One vendor, one track record. Applying with an email or phone already on file links to that account instead of quietly starting a second one.

Name the place. Call it Kakaina Farm or Blaisdell Center and it shows with the town, instead of a postal address nobody can act on.

Home and your dashboard now show the same card for the same market — venue and town instead of a full address, grouped by date.

### 1.9.3 — 2026-08-31

Cancel a market or event without deleting it. Your page stays up with a
cancelled notice and your own message to vendors and guests, instead of
disappearing on people who already signed up.

Block and report — from any profile, or from a conversation. Manage
everyone you've blocked under Settings.

A rebuilt vendor dashboard that puts your markets, applications and
documents in one place.

Attending is now split into upcoming and past, with cards that match the
home feed.

Organizers get a staff activity log: who checked in whom, and when.

### 1.9.2 — 2026-08-30

Check-in is now one screen, and it's on the listing itself.

• Tap "Check In" right on your market or event — no digging
through settings to find it on the day.
• Guests and vendors in one place, including people who
registered without an account and anyone holding a ticket.
• Vendor check-in shows booth number, contact details and
whether their booth fee is settled.
• Search and export on both lists.

For organizers:
• Staff history — see who checked someone in, and who undid
it. Your whole team can see it, so nobody has to take
  anyone's word for it.
• Give your team exactly the access they need. Tick Guests,
Tickets or Vendors and that's all they can reach. Day-of
access ends on its own after the event.
• Managers can run the listing with you — approve vendors,
  message people, issue comp tickets.
• Booth fees — record cash, Venmo, checks or card payments
against a vendor and see what's still owed.
• Preview your guest registration form and your vendor
application exactly as people will see them.
• Broadcast an update to your vendors or your guests, in
something that works like a normal message thread.
• Guest registration, vendor applications, ticket types and
payments each have their own clear screen.

Fixes:
• Door staff no longer see guests' full answers or the
export button — just the list they need to check people in.
• The app no longer shows a blank screen after signing in
  or switching accounts.
• Tickets open correctly for markets as well as events.
• Map search stays open while you type.
• Search now finds every vendor, not just the first 50.

### 1.9.0 — 2026-08-26

Send an update to your guests. Organizers can now message everyone
who registered for their event — rain plans, time changes, where to
park — by email and push, right from the event's Notify tab.

See your vendor page. Your Vend dashboard now opens with the page
organizers actually read before approving you, so you know how you
look to them.

A simpler bottom bar. Home, Map, Add, Vend and Host are always
there now instead of appearing and disappearing.

My Events, tidied up. Tap a listing to see it the way everyone
else does, or tap the gear to manage it.

Easier guest registration setup. The questions you ask guests now
sit next to the answers coming in, so the form is no longer hidden.

Plus clearer messages, a faster event editor, and a pile of fixes.
