### 3/5 — Get a clue

*2022-05-11, version 3.0.17*

Restaurants are not bad, app isn’t bad, combine the two together you get a poor disconnected experience. Every time I eat at a Roovy required restaurant I watch people come in and walk out once told they have to use an app. This ownership is pissing away $$ in their held fast commitment to back of house operations run by an app.

### 4/5 — Positives and Negatives

*2021-01-04, version 1.4.60*

Let’s be straight forward, like another user, walking into a restaurant for the first time and being told to download something is disconcerting. When I asked the waitress about it, she shrugged and said “I just work here” and could offer nothing. That restaurant had no other options: do this or leave. This is a huge bummer, as the app comes from a local Houston restaurateur and developer. Businesses, especially here, really need to sell this. Go local! Instead, it is a case of a poor roll out with with no support or education offered. “Trust me”...with my credit card? My data? Skeptical, not a good way to make customers comfortable.

Skipping to the end, the tipping part is super egregious. Poor service earns a poor tip.

App interface is easy to use, the pictures and navigation is intuitive. Adding and subtracting items didn’t have any hitches. Again, here is where the total lack of staff education is astoundingly destructive to the user “experience”; this is the main point of the app! Didn’t know I could put notes down.

All in all, not a bad app, just badly needs vendor out reach and eduction to improve the overall customer experience. If this is going to be how dining interface is going to work, step up the experience and make it at least professional, if not exceptional.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2020-11-15, version 1.4.48*

Only one out of three people in our party could download this app.

### 1/5 — Worst dining experience because of this app

*2020-11-15, version 1.4.48*

This app ruins the whole dining experience. I’m making it a point to walk out of the next restaurant trying to be lazy and use this

### 1/5 — Horrible concept, worse execution, deceptive

*2020-11-08, version 1.4.48*

Being forced to download an proprietary app just to eat in a restaurant is a bad idea. This app being terrible and stealing your money makes it even worse. You have to give them location access just for the correct restaurant to pop up, no way to manually select which one you’re at. The menus are clunky and poorly written requiring you to click on each item just to find out what it is. Finally when you “close your tab” it automatically applies a 20% tip, regardless of party size or how terrible the “service” is (them carrying food to your table). No warning this was going to happen, just straight stealing your money. AVIOD THIS APP AND THE RESTAURANTS AT ALL COST.

### 1/5 — Not Good

*2020-10-17, version 1.4.45*

I started up the app and put in the payment info but I added an extra letter to my name by accident. Can not edit my name or delete card so I could not order anything at the restaurant.

### 1/5 — Hometown Hero’s

*2020-09-26, version 1.4.43*

At event. App doesn’t work. 0Stars.

### 1/5 — Automation is not your friend

*2020-08-16, version 1.4.37*

Around 3,500 BC, the civilizations of Mesopotamia developed a technology that enabled them to transport significantly higher volumes of goods over long distances. We know this invention as the wheel. There is a reason it has not been reinvented. If a restaurant forces you go download this app, and you agree, you are complicit in the exponential rise of economic inequality, and you should be ashamed of yourself. Billions of people live in poverty and it will only get worse because of BS like this. Solidarity with workers.

### 1/5 — Lacks all Functional Thought

*2020-07-25, version 1.4.33*

This app is one of the worst out there. First off, nobody wants to use an app to order off of. Or even just to see a menu. Waste of data, waste of storage on the phone. A forced app just to eat somewhere.

Secondly, this app lacks things like split payments. Or split tenders. If I’m at a table, I should be able to split the tab or at a minimum let people order their own stuff on mine. Each new add is a new tab. This app is a cluster of total lack of functional design.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2020-06-20, version 1.4.28*

Does not give time estimates for when your pickup will be ready. Also you can’t switch done in/carry out/delivery without restarting cart. Sorry restaurant’s probably won’t choose you again because of this app. Not a fan

Instead this
Hello we’ve received your order at Shepherd Park and will message you when we’re packaging it up, this will give you time to head our way and think about how awesome you are!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stop messing with the dining experience

*2022-08-13, version 3.0.24*

Please don’t force me to download an app to dine. This is so frustrating. Pretty shameless ploy.

### 1/5 — So annoying

*2022-06-03, version 3.0.21*

Like many other reviewers, I walked into a restaurant and was asked to download this app before being seated. You have to enter in your credit card info into yet another useless app. The whole interaction was more tedious than it needed to be. Within the app, there are only a handful of restaurants that utilize this app and it doesn’t make it worth having. I’m going to go ahead and delete it and hope that my credit card info isn’t stored for their convenience.

### 1/5 — It kinda bad

*2021-07-10, version 1.4.91*

Yo it’s kinda bad my homie

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2021-05-03, version 1.4.78*

I went to Tres Amigos yesterday and this app made my dining experience so bad I will never go to any restaurant that pushes or requires this app to order or pay. There were 10 people inside this restaurant and I heard at least 7 complaining about this app. There were also two men that looked to be in their 60s that tried to order got frustrated and left. If you market a restaurant/bar as ZZ Top themed it going to attract an order clientele who will want servers and attentive wait staff. This might be the first review I have ever written on for a restaurant or app. That’s how bad my experience was.

### 1/5 — No where service industry should be going

*2021-05-02, version 1.4.78*

I rarely complain about service at restaurants since most of the time there is a valid explanation. My first (and hopefully only) experience at a restaurant that uses this app was absolutely the worst. There was 1 person for the whole place because who needs more than one when you have an app to place all the orders right?

WRONG!! The poor girl was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I asked for a lime for my drink... never got it... had to ask 4 times... obviously if that app let me order it, it might have eventually come...

This is an awful concept and should be an option, not the only way to order food and drinks. I think I heard every person complain in the entire restaurant about it. I don’t go to a restaurant to order my food through my phone and if I am forced to, it better make the service better, not worse.

What happens if heaven forbid you don’t ha e a smart phone?!? Restaurant owners beware of making this your only means of ordering. You will lose business. I was excited to try this new restaurant concept in my neighborhood but will it be returning unless they change how they do business and it better not include this app.

### 1/5 — Terrible experience

*2021-03-03, version 1.4.66*

Wow! This is a perfect example of technology getting in the way. It took the server longer to walk us through downloading the app than it would have been to take our order. The process completely got in the way of customer service. When we finally did order, the app came out at the same time as the entrees☹️ The food was just ok, and service non-existent. When I did check out, I never received any final bill. I was expecting to receive a receipt via text. Traveling for work, how am I supposed to expense this? I won’t be back here again.

### 1/5 — Credit card won’t load

*2020-12-17, version 1.4.58*

What a horrendous app. Credit card information won’t save so you can’t order. Restaurant has no idea how to fix.

### 1/5 — Don’t download this app

*2020-12-06, version 1.4.51*

My card was overcharged!

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2020-11-23, version 1.4.50*

A restaurant I like uses this app, but the app is so horrible I can no longer go to my neighborhood restaurant. Crashes mid way through and lots of freezes.....and restaurant can’t do anything to help (can’t even take a manual order). Not a complicated app but must be done by a group of volunteers.

### 1/5 — Reviewed

*2020-11-20, version 1.4.50*

This app is terrible. It takes away the reason that I go to a sit down restaurant. Makes the restaurant feel cheap.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Concept and Service!

*2022-01-21, version 2.0.14*

Absolutely loved using Roovy! No need to wait forever for service, it was super user friendly and just makes sense! Great concept and I hope to see it around more restaurants throughout Houston

### 5/5 — Fast service

*2021-03-21, version 1.4.73*

I really appreciated this way of ordering at the concert I attended in Houston at the white oak music hall. We didn’t have to get up for anything . They delivered everything very fast

### 5/5 — Awesome service

*2020-12-13, version 1.4.51*

We went to a concert at white oak music hall and service was amazing! Ordered and got our stuff within minutes. Definitely beats having to stop watching and go stand in line. Appreciate this so much.

### 5/5 — Readsouthall TX

*2020-12-12, version 1.4.51*

We had some trouble yesterday with the app but Ken was quick to help us out. He and his team made sure we were taken care of. What an amazing night and experience. What a great staff.

### 5/5 — Amazing App!

*2020-12-08, version 1.4.51*

We had to use this App to order food and drinks... this was a COVID precaution and it’s fantastic! I never had to wait more than two minutes for a drink and food only took ten minutes! It was fantastic at a show with one thousand people present.

The reviews here seem very unfair... our experience was out of this world! I would HIGHLY recommend this App!

### 5/5 — Jeff B

*2020-12-08, version 1.4.51*

I love this app! It never took us longer than five minutes to get our order while keeping everybody safe and well hydrated.

### 5/5 — Stupid

*2020-11-21, version 1.4.50*

If you are in the restaurant and you are getting this app, DONT. This is stupid, the fact that this restaurant makes you order using a app is a bad idea. At least make a Website or PNG with the menu. The fact that I need a already shady app with bad reviews AND I need to pay with it is stupid. If your reading this review in the restaurant and wondering if you should or should not install this app, don't, and leave the restaurant immediately.

### 5/5 — Smooth, Seamless, and a major step towards the future

*2020-09-24, version 1.4.43*

Tired of waiting on your beer? Trying to flag down your waiter but he’s just too busy to see you? Roovy totally cuts that right out of the equation. Ordering food or drinks could never be simpler. I absolutely love this app and will definitely be using consistently

### 5/5 — Love it

*2020-06-21, version 1.4.28*

I’ve used this app several times and I find it simple and accurate. From the menus and choosing my favorite foods to checking out it is seamless. One of the things I love the most is the communication from the app that keeps me updated on my order including when to pick it up. Give it a try, you’ll be happy you did.

### 5/5 — User

*2020-06-07, version 1.4.23*

Best thing since sliced bread!
