Man fummelt sich so durch und lernt auswendig, was wo ist, anstatt dass die App einen führt. Es macht einfach keinen Spaß, ein High-End HiFi-Gerät damit zu steuern. Dann lieber Spotify Connect und man weiß, was man hat und muss nicht umständlich rum suchen. ### 2/5 — Leider Nix… *2026-01-04, version 5.09.45* Die App ist leider wie von vielen anderen auch schon erwähnt sehr schlecht. Völlig unübersichtlich, unverständlich und fast jedes zweite Mal keine Verbindung zum Rose, sodass dies manuell am Gerät eingeschaltet werden muss. The Preout in/out volume setting in the App does not properply reflect the setting in the device. 2. Cannot connect to a UPnP server to look up a song or album. Have to use Windows SMB instead. 3. The network directory uses the IP address instead of the hostname. This app renders the streamer almost UNUSABLE. It’s beyond FRUSTRATING. I was assuming they’d make it better eventually but it’s only gotten worse. So confusing to use and buggy for me. Also the Autoplay algorithm is the worst I’ve seen. For me, I might have to forego some sound quality and go with another streamer that has a better interface. With this update the app NO LONGER CONNECTS TO MY RS520!!!!!! Right before Christmas, you put out an app update that BREAKS THE APP!!! Unbelievable!!! If I pull up the QR code on the RS520 and scan it I get "ip address not found”. I cannot tell you how much I regret this purchase! $3,500 for a brick! ### 1/5 — Fiabilité et convivialité *2024-12-20, version 5.07.30* Pas fiable convivialité nulle combien d’essais pour tenter d’obtenir une solution médiocre. Si le matériel Rose est bon le soft est très mal conçu. Imbitable disions-nous quand nous étions étudiant. Le concepteur a dû faire ses études à l’ENA… dommage ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Gets worse with every update *2026-06-24, version 5.10.01* Update (June, 2026). The Rose somehow disconnected from the internet so I went to fix it and found out that I needed a pin code to do anything. I never created a pin code. I was never asked to create a pin code. Why do I need a pin code? But the solution for not knowing the pin code was great: a forced factory reset! So now things work even worse than before. It would be almost comical if this device had not been so expensive. (Also the English is still terrible. “Recently Playlists” is amusing every time I see it.) Update: The playlists you have to make manually of your various box sets (because the Rose does not keep the tracks in numerical playback order) now just stop at random in the middle of playing them. The app is also getting even slower. Nothing is ever fixed by this company—they just add new problems. I wonder if anyone at Rose even reads these reviews. (April 2026) Update: As of Sep. 14, 2025 the volume button no longer functions, the tracks from multi-disc sets are listed incorrectly, and I still have no idea what at least half of the poorly-written English in the app even means. Way too many goofy frills and not enough incredibly basic functionality. And updates fix nothing; They only create new problems. This is embarrassingly bad. I cannot search for artists in the “Music” section since the last update. Terrible app. So bad it makes me question the entire company. Had I known I would never have purchased one of these units. I do not think anyone who built the device or the app has actually used it. ### 1/5 — Yeah, it’s pitiful *2026-06-08, version 5.09.53* Was really hoping this was gonna get better, but so far it has not. It’s extremely clunky, all it really gives you are the recently heard albums, which is exactly what I don’t want, the search feature doesn’t work at all, thank goodness the Tidal portion is not too bad. It worked fairly well with a few problems - until I started installing updates. For a long time I’ve had to reload the deck to connect to my system multiple times during each session, only to have it disconnect and instruct me to “change devices”. My “devices” are all fine as far as I can tell. Amazon Prime and AppleTV/music run with no problem and don’t interrupt my listening due to connection issues. The AppleTV box cost about $400 and works fine. After yesterday’s update, my $2400 Rose streamer won’t even power up. Always updated the firmware every time there was available one. Also the initially limited list of Radio stations is definitely over. I wanted to wait some time “to see if” … now, December 2024, I should say… the App it’s just perfect and it works perfectly! Period. Very happy, thanks Rose for your constant improvements!
