### 2/5 — Lifetime membership not honored

*2026-08-29, version 9.2.1*

I finally have time to learn a language and the product will not allow me into core module #2 in unit one. Why is it locked? Why no easy way to reach support? Very disappointed. I have passed and completed the lessons I was allowed to access but magically the rest of not available? Questionable.

### 4/5 — An Awesome App, but Needs Dark Mode

*2026-08-27, version 9.2.1*

This a great language learning app, but it just needs dark mode or night mode to help students read and study better in dark environments.

### 4/5 — Instructions needed

*2026-08-24, version 9.2.1*

Sometimes it is not clear what to do

### 5/5 — Great product! Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼

*2026-08-19, version 9.2.1*

Great product! Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼

### 5/5 — Good learning tool

*2026-08-19, version 9.2.1*

I really enjoy using the app. It’s simple. The lessons are short and direct.

### 5/5 — Rosetta stone

*2026-08-18, version 9.2.1*

I like Rosetta stone because it helps me learn different kind of languages

### 5/5 — Five stars definitely

*2026-08-17, version 9.2.1*

I was learning French for thirty minutes and I was already getting good. And it was strait forward gives you a passing grade or a failing grad.

### 5/5 — It’s a good app I like it and it’s like a Experience Classic Rosetta Stone

*2026-08-14, version 9.2.1*

Quick

### 4/5 — It works!

*2026-08-13, version 9.2.1*

It is a little challenging getting familiarized with words and pronunciation that you have never seen before. But surprisingly, these new lessons sink in! I would appreciate a slower paced. But don’t give up and stick with! You will be speaking a n w language before you know it!

### 5/5 — Fluido

*2026-08-13, version 9.2.1*

Es un curso fluido y agradable para empezar a estudiar idiomas, tiene amplia trayectoria en el mercado, lo recomiendo ampliamente

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2026-08-11, version 9.2.1*

This app is working pretty good so far! As a homeschooled person I’d say this has helped immensely with learning French! Lessons are clear, straightforward and structured. Using a language learning app can be difficult because if you aren’t able to complete your daily lesson the words you learned the other day, don’t stick. I love Rosetta Stone but I suggest you have an extra thing for you to learn along with Rosetta, such as maybe having a practice where you write the words you learned, or going to a class and practice with Rosetta Stone after or before. Hope this helped, have a blessed day person who stuck around and read this. 🙃

### 5/5 — Happy Learning

*2026-08-10, version 9.2.1*

Works by intuition so to learn the language as if by learning by experience

### 4/5 — Não consigo assinar e usar.

*2026-08-10*

Esse app é muito bom, pena que agora fizeram outro com 100% IA e não consigo mais assinar e usar esse. O designer desse app e imagens eram melhores.

### 2/5 — Won’t register my voice half the time

*2026-08-06, version 9.2.1*

Great idea awesome but won’t register my voice half the time.

### 5/5 — French

*2026-08-04, version 9.2.1*

Used Rosetta Stone as well as some other apps and was able to succeed in Paris and Canada. You have to be willing to put in the time

### 2/5 — Could’ve been updated instead of made a “classic”

*2026-08-02, version 9.2.1*

Soul be better if the lifetime subscription holders had access to the newer version of Rosetta Stone which absolutely could have and should have been just an update for the now “classic”.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-08-25, version 9.2.1*

“This app is for existing users only” is all you get.

### 1/5 — Speech recognition is broken

*2026-08-09, version 9.2.1*

Doesn’t matter what language or what device unless I’m using my laptop or a desktop. The speech recognition is never consistent. It’s always throwing up flags saying that my microphone is providing poor quality audio. sadly, I get this exact same problem whether I use iPhone android iPad or an android tablet. Seems to work absolutely fine on desktop versions with no issue whatsoever.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2026-08-07, version 9.2.1*

Paid for the lifetime subscription on this and now it blocks me from accessing anything past lesson 1 on content that previously worked and paid for. Scammy company.

### 1/5 — Could be good

*2026-08-05, version 9.2.1*

I like that it gets you speaking right away but it teaches useless words immediately like “they run” and “she reads” - when am I going to say that? But the really annoying thing is that when I use the voice software, it doesn’t recognize what I’m saying. With current technology it’s ridiculous that it’s not recognizing what I’m saying with my speech issues - I’m saying elles courant with the nasal and everything. I’d wager it’s ableist because it expects you to know how to pronounce everything like an actor. I’d love to give it a good review because it’s clearly worked for people, but could never for me sadly.

### 1/5 — Immersion is the only way to really learn a language

*2026-07-30, version 9.2.1*

UPDATE: stopped working on my older iPad mini a couple days ago. I’ll restore 5 star rating if it gets fixed. I still believe in the Rosetta Stone approach but I’m very unhappy about the developer disallowing some of the older devices.

UPDATE July 2026: older devices work again. Thank you! Back to 5 stars!

UPDATE July 30 2026: it stopped working. Very frustrating!

If you rely on translating, I don’t think you can ever become fluent. Each language has words and phrases that simply cannot be translated. When you have a conversation in a foreign language and you have to translate the foreign words you hear into your native language and then translate your response from native back into foreign language, you will not only get tired and stressed out but your conversation will not be fluent and natural. What works for me are images. When learning the foreign word for flowers for example, I don’t translate into my native language but imagine a picture of flowers in my head. Then coming up with Blumen, fleures, flores, etc. in a foreign language conversation is much faster and requires much less brain power than translating. Those are just my 2 cents. This approach works best for me. I’m a foreign language major with 4 foreign languages. English is my 3rd language. Everyone is different and has their preferred way of learning but I encourage everyone to try the immersion approach for one or two weeks and see how it goes.
App works great. I only encountered one small glitch but that may have been a glitch on my device.

### 1/5 — Voice

*2026-07-30, version 9.2.1*

The voice recognition does not work. I have to say the same thing over and over before it finally picks up on my voice. The weird thing is that it DOES hear me, but it then just gives me a red line. Not even a correct or incorrect, it just stops listening.

### 1/5 — Classic or discontinued ?

*2026-07-29, version 9.2.1*

He comprado una licencia de Rosetta Stone y creo que estan tratando de dejar atras la primera versión para presentar esta “nueva” versión. Lo primero que he notado es que pretenden no restaurar las compras de la versión anterior. Totalmente injusto para los que pagamos el lifetime. Deberían restaurar las compras de licencia a los usuarios que ya pagamos el lifetime.

### 1/5 — Lack of diverse languages

*2026-07-25, version 9.2.0*

Lack of diverse, African languages because, such as twi.

### 1/5 — Voice recognition

*2026-07-22, version 9.2.0*

The voice mechanics are awful. Made it unbearable to use when I was saying things perfectly and had to keep repeating myself

### 1/5 — Useless!!!!!

*2026-07-22, version 9.2.0*

I’m having a very large issue whether I sign in online or through the app on my iPhone 17 Pro Max or my new iPad Air. It doesn’t matter if I use earbuds a USB microphone or just use the embedded mic in my devices, the app or the website is not recognizing that I’m speaking into it. Garbage service after paying hundreds of dollars.

*2026-08-29, version 9.2.1*

### 5/5 — This app is amazing

*2026-08-28*

I’ve been learning with this app for around two weeks now and it’s been great 😊
Ive learnt the basics of Japanese without it being as difficult as other apps. I highly recommend. It’s also almost completely free unless you want an extended version which I don’t think is necessary unless you are really struggling to learn a language.

### 5/5 — Learn another language

*2026-08-25, version 9.2.1*

I am attempting to learn the second most common language in the US. Rosetta Stone makes it easy.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2026-08-24, version 9.2.1*

Best for everrrrrrrrr😍😍😍

### 5/5 — Amazing

### 5/5 — Loving Upgrading My French on Rosetta Stone

*2026-08-20, version 9.2.1*

I took French classes in Canada throughout elementary and secondary school in Canada but had let my vocabulary and oral skills slip over the years. I decided to sign up for Rosetta Stone when they had a sale, and I am not disappointed. I’ve been having fun learning new words and improving my pronunciation. Really enjoying the audio and visual cues. I may try a whole new language, such as German, next!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-20, version 9.2.1*

I learned Spanish in a month

### 5/5 — I like it

*2026-08-20, version 9.2.1*
