While RosterElf shows great potential, almost everyone on the team has encountered issues with it. Wether managers or staff. The platform can be frustrating to use—rostering is more difficult than it should be, and we keep getting logged out unexpectedly. There’s a few things that don’t make sense. It’s the small things that really add up and impact the overall experience. Basic features seem to be missing, like seeing the total number of hours scheduled for the week or clearer shift details. Ui really needs rework. Although it did get better the past few updates it’s still messy. With some improvements, RosterElf could be a fantastic tool, and I’ll be happy to update my review as it gets better. But right now it feels more like a hassle than a help. ### 2/5 — terrible new UI *2025-06-17* have been using rosterelf through my company for the last year, and the app just released a new update and the UI is just terrible. previous version was simple but effective. new update adds superfluous windows and pop-ups for a “sleeker” look that just make everything clunky and more difficult than needs be. ### 2/5 — Great potential, but too buggy to be usable *2020-02-02* I have just set this up for my small business and got all employees to download the app. However you can’t log onto the website on a mobile device and the app isn’t working properly. When opening the app everything freezes on the loading screen, with just a spinning wheel. Deleting and reinstalling the app looks like it fixes it, but this isn’t a suitable workaround considering it needs to be done daily. Really hope this is fixed before my free trial period is up, or I won’t continue using it. ### 2/5 — Camera function *2019-12-16* takes ages for the camera to open this bug should be fixed ### 1/5 — Broken *2019-01-30* This new roster elf is broken Everyday no bodies shifts show up until you delete the app and re download it every morning. Automatically logged out and cannot turn off MFA *2025-08-26, version 3.2.18* App kept logged out by itself almost every day. When staff need to clock in and out, they have to call me to get the account password and authenticator numbers (which RosterElf said cannot be turned off once linked to Xero). Have had it for around half a year, never got to use it as it never loaded anything. Very efficient and nice neat layout making my current and previous roster review nice and easy :) ### 5/5 — Business Owner *2021-07-22* This app makes rostering so seamless! Before I downloaded RosterElf I was using spreadsheets and I cannot believe how much time I’ve gained! It’s also saved us a lot on paper already as we used to print leave slips for our employees to fill out whereas now they just apply for leave and shift swaps on the app. It makes managing staff much easier and saves us a lot of time, couldn’t be happier! ### 5/5 — Fantastic Customer Service! *2021-06-22* RosterElf have been absolutely amazing! I’m new to rosters for my staff and they have been really great at understanding my needs and helping me understand how I can use their software to make admin easier for the business. I cannot recommend these guys enough! ### 5/5 — Saves me Heaps of Time *2020-07-26* Love this program been using for a year or so now. It has freed up seriously like 2 hrs per week of mine on mucking around calling staff, updating spreadsheets, reentering into Xero worksheets. It’s integration is awesome, and I can and have been using it on my iPad since the start so not sure why others struggle with this. Rosters, and payroll for 10 employees done and dusted weekly in 10 minutes or less. ### 5/5 — Great easy to use app *2019-02-08* The RosterElf app is so easy to use! This new app is better than ever. ### 4/5 — Notifications *2026-04-14* Would be nice if the clock in and out reminders first checked to see whether we had already checked in or out. It’s annoying to be reminded an hour after I already clocked out. ### 4/5 — Smart watch *2026-02-11* This is a great app and I love using it for work. However I feel like it would be beneficial for a lot of people who use it if it connected to a smart watch (Apple watch) so you can clock in and out easier through the watch as I put my phone away a bit before I start work. I then have to go get my phone and clock in or clock in early. So being able to clock in right as I’m actually starting work on my watch would be very helpful. ### 4/5 — Great app but doesn’t let me view everything on iphone *2022-09-26* I’ve been using this app and it’s worked perfectly fine until I switched from Samsung to apple and now I can’t change what I’m viewing. I cannot click and see shift swaps, avails and leave. It only lets me view today when I open the app and I have a shift to click into. Please fix this! Would be very helpful. Thank you. ### 4/5 — Past information *2019-06-02* Hi. Great app. Something that would help me is to be able to track the actual time worked on previous shifts not only on the day of the shift. At the moment if I pick a shift a week ago it only shows the rostered hours but I may have worked a couple of extra hours because work was so busy.
