About Rostou!
As avid mushroom foragers, we built Rostou! for what we needed: an intuitive yet powerful app to identify mushroom species and save findings.
The focus of the app is on mushrooms growing in Europe. Each species includes a detailed description of its appearance, habitat, and possible lookalikes. There are also warnings for certain toxic species, and fun facts about many of the mushrooms. You can add a note to each species, or add it to favorites to quickly find it later.
When looking up species, powerful yet easy-to-use filters can narrow down the search significantly. For example, you can only look for white, ball-shaped mushrooms growing under conifers in September.
When you find a mushroom, you can pin the finding to a map with the tap of a button. If you’re not sure about the species you found, you can just add it as an unknown species and edit it later. Or create a shared album and identify species in a group of friends. And all your data is securely synced via iCloud, so your map of findings will automatically appear if you get a new iPhone.
About Rostou! PRO
The app is free to download and many of its features are free to use for everyone. We offer a paid subscription, which enables us to continue developing the app and adding more species. A single subscription is valid for both iPhone, iPad as well as Apple Watch.

With the paid subscription, you unlock:
- Descriptions of all species in the database
- Articles with identification keys for types of mushroom caps, stems, and cap undersides
- All planned features for no additional payment

Aplikace vypadá dobře, ale většina hub je až v PRO verzi za kterou je cena 399kč/rok což mi přijde hodně. Pokud by to byla jednorázová platba, tak by to ještě šlo. Ale za takovouto aplikaci nejsem ochoten platit každý rok tolik peněz. Radši jsem si zaplatil plnou verzi aplikace “Na houby”.

Aplikace postihuje pouze nejznámější druhy hub a to jen ty základní. Mám mnoho nalezených hub, které aplikace nezná.

Prumerna az pdprumerna aplikace. Koupil jsme PRO verzi, ale aplikace casto pada. Vyhledavani je kostrbate. Napriklad nejde hledat podle ruznych parametru ve stejne sekci. Chybi dost zasadnich druhu, ocenil bych vice fotek ke kazde hoube. V atlasu musite pokazde rolovat od A od po Z. Libi se mi oznaceni nalezu, ale zatim nevim jestli mi to bude uzitecne ponevadz v lesich nebyva casto signal a tak nevim jestli me to navede presne na misto, ktere jsem oznacil. Bohuzel se pres nalezy neda prokliknout do atlasu a takovych to  veci je v aplikaci vice. Pokud se vyvojaru budou snazit aplikaci zlepsovat, tak predplatne nezrusim, jinak ano.

Nejsem žádný vášnivý houbař, bezpečně znám jen pár druhů naprosto profláknutých hub, ale tahle appka je fakt milé překvapení. Můj poslední atlas hub, který se mi líbil, jsem četl jako malý kluk, papírový. Po X letech jsem dal šanci několika aplikacím, ale z různých důvodů to nikdy nebylo ono, fun-faktor byl vždy roven nule. To ovšem není případ Rostou! Funkční, jednoduché, intuitivní, popisné tak akorát, parádní fotky i grafika a navíc kompletně v češtině? Jo! Tahle appka už v telefonu zůstane. Díky za ni!

Atlas je detailní a pěkně zpracovaný, máme ho pro celou rodinu přes rodinné sdílení. 

Osobně mám v telefonu nastavená větší písmena a popisky hub se automaticky zobrazují zvětšené, za to extra palec 👍

Aplikace nemá automatické rozpoznávání druhu z fotky, ale na to by se beztak spoléhal jen sebevrah 😀

Time to learn more about mushrooms growing on trees! We are adding 5 more species to the app:
- Polyporus arcularius
- Polyporus badius
- Polyporus brumalis
- Polyporus ciliatus
- Polyporus tuberaster

### 1.4 — 2023-10-11

A BIG update for the BIG screen - Rostou! is coming to the iPad!

Everything you know and love about the app, now in a larger format. Using the iPad is ideal for browsing your collection of findings, editing your friend’s findings, or reading up on mushrooms before venturing out into the forest. All of your data is synced between iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, so you can pick and choose when to use which device.

We’re also adding multi-selection filters to the guide! This long-requested feature allows you to select multiple colours, habitats, or months of growth in search of the right species.

Finally, we squashed a couple of bugs that appeared when running the app on iOS 17. If you are running the latest operating system, you can display the map as a satellite, to get a better idea of where you found mushrooms in the past.

We hope you’re enjoying the autumn mushroom picking season - we can’t wait for wood blewits to appear!
