It’s was great because it focuses more on what I’m interested in without having to navigate the website- open the app and desires info is there… BOOM! However, it hasn’t been losing the past week or so and today I finally decided to Google it to see if it’s just me or if anyone else is having the same issue. Well, it’s the latter. Immediately google was able to predict my search, indicating lots of people having been googling the same exact issue. Then I see “fix” links to “clear cache” etc etc. That doesn’t work for me. It’s an app. If I wanted to deal with catch and all that crap I’d still be using the website. Looks like I will be I guess. How does a company like NBC have an app that doesn’t even work??? And even worse, why hasn’t there been an update to fix it yet if it’s a problem big enough that Google is loaded with inquiries and links on the subject. Stupid. ### 2/5 — Poor writing skills, decent info, frequent glitches *2023-06-26* The writers apparently can’t be bothered to proofread their work as the blurbs are littered with misspelled words and incorrect references to the players’ teams. The info is good, so it’s still worth using the app. However, as is currently the issue, the app is not showing a single player update due to a technical glitch, which happens every so often. ### 2/5 — Need better NBA Content *2022-11-20, version 1.4* Rotoworld used to be a one-stop-shop for all sports news with fantasy slant. Now…not so much. In particular, the NBA content has dropped off. There used to be great experts with legit fantasy insight. All the layoffs have caused the content quality to suffer. Sad, Rotoworld (NBC SportsEdge) is no longer my go to source, and is teetering on the brink of irrelevance. ### 4/5 — Why I like Rotoworld *2022-09-05, version 1.4* I’ve been using Rotoworld for 15+ years. But regarding the app, the comically small and stupidly light font on the player update text is enough to warrant a 2 star rating. How can something so poorly conceived make it into production? Please just make the text easier to read. Looks like the new owner is called TeeOff Media. Unsure if they’re just a subsidiary of NBC, or if new, when they took over. Regardless, developer had shown absolutely zero respect for the loyal fans that use this app daily. This move screams of a redesign/redeployment, which often involve a paywall and if that’s the case I won’t be redownloading the app. Thanks for nothing, you’ve TickedOff a lot of people. ### 1/5 — NBC trying to buy themselves relevance *2022-09-16, version 1.4* ...and ruin what was a good app. Athletic as a source of news needs to go. They are way off on all their opinions. This is a complete failure; 3) the app hasn’t shown player stats for over two months. You click on it and it says ‘not available’; 4) whenever you bookmark a player the app crashes. Over all, while the style and navigation has always been well maintained, the content has been shrinking to the point of absurdity. When you remove one of he big 4 sports (mlb, nba, nfl, nhl) you are showing your complete lack of caring for your audience. We do not want to use different apps for different fantasy sports news. The interface has gone through so many iterations including this new terrible name change but admittedly this one does look and work the best. Normally I would give this 5 stars but it has not worked for an entire day and that is a major problem during baseball season. Using the site on a web browser is terrible and a major reason why the app is so necessary. I’ve been using the site, back when it was called Rotoworld, and the app as soon as it became available. It’s the absolute best way to get immediate information on players. Aggregating news and information, from local and national sources, in one place that would normally require you to search endlessly for. It’s beyond impressive and something I always recommend to friends. People ask how I know about xyz players all the time… because I read this.
