### 3/5 — Lovely abandonware

*2024-06-13, version 2020.8*

I love this app, but there is NO WAY it is worth $60 per year for an app that does one thing and hasn't been updated since the Covid pandemic.

### 2/5 — Premium doesn’t work

*2023-10-07, version 2020.8*

I pay for the Premium plan and don’t have access to my Other Routines. Keep saying I don’t have Premium. I restore my purchase and it continues to say I don’t have it but i pay every month.

### 4/5 — Like it but no more active support

*2023-01-27, version 2020.8*

The developer does not respond to emails and the app has not been updated in years. It’s a solid app with no glitches or anything but things and situations change and app developers need to accommodate.

For example I would like to see an option for a toggle in routines to auto complete tasks. This is helpful if you just need the notification beep too know when to switch to the next task but are unable to actually go in the app and check off the item. Examples: cleaning, shower routine (basically any hands free tasks)
Sad it’s not an option

### 3/5 — Free app okay; Upgrade at own peril

*2022-12-13, version 2020.8*

Update on Dec 13, 2022: Review stands. No new updates from developer. Free version good for what it is. I advise against upgrading.

The free version is excellent to give you a “taste” of how an app like this can help.

I upgraded to premium before the subscription model and I’m grateful I did. As of iOS 16, the app continues to work as described: The app is buggy and has not been updated in 2+ yrs - appears to have been abandoned by the developer. If the developer updates the app, I’ll update my review.

### 4/5 — Great tool, but a little dated

*2022-11-22, version 2020.8*

I have been using this app for the last several years. I love it for several reasons. One thing that I really like is as items are completed or skipped routine, your completion time is automatically updated. This is key when you have a target time to complete your routine. Also, most people confuse habits with routines. Make no mistake, this is not a habit tracker. This is a routine completion app.

Other nice things about the app is that you can skip the order of the items within the routine on the fly. Many of the other routine apps require you to go in a set order. It’s your choice how you want to do that in this app.

The one thing that I really wish would be if the author updated the user interface. It looks like one of the first version apps. It really needs to be freshened up to match the more modern user interfaces of so many other apps. If the author did that, I would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

But trust me, if you’re looking for a routine app, look no further, this is the best one out there by far!

### 2/5 — No updates for over a year now

*2022-11-04, version 2020.8*

The time stamp on the App Store says 2 years as last update. Some time in 2020. Will also update if app gets updated again.

### 2/5 — Keeps closing

*2022-09-22, version 2020.8*

Would be nice if it didn’t close the app for every change I make in the settings. I thought the idea was nice and started setting stuff but that bug completely turned me off.

### 5/5 — THANK YOU!

*2022-01-29, version 2020.8*

I’ve been using this app since 2019, and it’s honestly change my life. I really struggle with executive function, time management, etc. This app has made me much more functional & takes all of the stress and guess work out of my morning and evening routine. While I don’t have to think about time management & stuff that honestly doesn’t make sense to me, I can just enjoy my life. Love this app.

### 4/5 — Every Morning

*2021-12-05, version 2020.8*

I use this EVERY morning to keep me on track and help me get out the door on time. I love the checklist style and being able to tick off each of the boxes as I complete a task. The tasks are also very easy to rearrange as needed. I also like that I can see an updated time at the top of when the routine will finish. Seeing that calms me and I can focus on the task at hand.

### 3/5 — So good….but I’d like a few more functions

*2021-11-02, version 2020.8*

I love this app and I’m happy to pay the monthly fee ($5) for the pro version. Being able to map out the time all my little tasks take is amazing. And I love how it adjusts sleep times and go times so I can see when I need to do everything. Brilliant! But I won’t give more stars because I need these things….. I would like it to work on my watch….or at least be able to check off tasks. And sync with my iPad as well. Also so far the alarms only go off when my phone is not in sleep mode….which it always is when I’m working on my tasks?…..so that seems silly.

### 5/5 — I’m on time to work!

*2021-10-25, version 2020.8*

I used to never be on time to work and was always 15 minutes late. I was also unable to follow a routine because I kept getting distracted or not being able to decide which task to do next (brush my teeth? Or get dressed?) and then I’d forget things and lose track of time. Now I’ve used Routinist 23 times this month and am learning to manage my time better!

I am still getting multiple copies of the event on my calendar. I think every time I complete the routine it gets added to my calendar.

### 5/5 — Wonderful app to keep me on track

*2021-09-27, version 2020.8*

I love this app. The one thing I wish is that it worked with Apple Watch so that I can complete my routine without staring at my phone. 🙂

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Still having problem restoring purchase

*2025-10-25, version 2020.8*

After clicking restoring purchase button, the app tells me purchase has been restored, but still unable to access premium feature after that, please fix, unsubscribed for now, otherwise this is one of my favorite apps for productivity!

### 1/5 — App no longer maintained. Premium no longer functional.

*2024-12-24, version 2020.8*

Sadly, this app appears to no longer be maintained. The premium features are no longer functional. You can subscribe (and you will be charged as normal if you do), but none of the premium features unlock, despite the subscription.

This is happening to both my partner and me on multiple devices. (We’ve tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restoring past purchases, everything you can imagine. This isn’t functional for us anymore.) We’ve emailed the developer several times and have received no reply. We’re really sad to say that we think this app is done.

PAST REVIEW: I love this app. It’s far better than having your routine items somewhere more rigid. Using it, you can go a little long on some activities and then compensate by cutting short other activities without having to recalibrate everything. My highest wish for the app would be for it to sync across devices so my iPad and iPhone would be in sync. (I’d probably also use it on the Mac, since I have an M1, which can run iOS apps.)

### 1/5 — Abandoned

*2024-12-12, version 2020.8*

A solid one star unfortunately. I love it and have used it for years but the functionality diminishes regularly. I’m disappointed because I’ve tried every single routine app out there and this one was exactly what I needed. Premium no longer works and the app has lost a lot of its shine. It crashes on several screens and because you can’t upgrade, it’s not worth a lot anymore.

If the developer would come back it would be a five star app again.

### 1/5 — CHARGED WITH NO PREMIUM BENEFITS

*2024-08-11, version 2020.8*

I love everything about this app and have had for over 7 years. It was so helpful to where I really just lean on it periodically, like when I incorporate a new routine or use as a reset when I feel a routine needs tweaking. Even though I take long breaks from it, I still happily paid the premium of what was previously $2.99 a month, because I believed in it.

So imagine my surprise when I access the app and it tells me that I do not have a premium subscription, which is now $4.99. It’s not the increased cost that bothers me. What’s concerning for me, is that I have still been charged $2.99 monthly by Routinist for at least the past year. This charge has appeared on my Apple receipts monthly, and as of today, the monthly charge of $2.99 appears on my subscriptions page in the App center.

So yeah, Routinist has charged me $3 a month for NOT having a premium account. For at least a year not even joking.

### 1/5 — Abandoned

*2024-07-27, version 2020.8*

Agree with this:

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. THE DEVELOPERS HAVE APPARENTLY ABANDONED THIS APP. MY PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION NO LONGER WORKS AND CANT BE RESTORED. IVE CANCELLED IT.

I even cancelled my subscription and then started it up again. The premium functions worked one day and then stopped again. This app should be removed from the App Store.

### 1/5 — App no longer maintained. Premium no longer functional.

*2023-06-23*

Sadly, this app appears to no longer be maintained. The premium features are no longer functional. You can subscribe (and you will be charged as normal) if you do, but none of the premium features unlock, despite the subscription.

### 1/5 — Developer does not respond

*2023-01-14, version 2020.8*

This was a great app and I reinstalled it and purchased premium which did not work. I tried restore purchase. I uninstalled and reinstalled and reset my whole phone and everything that might help. Three emails to developer and no response. Tim needs to fix this and respond…

### 1/5 — Paying for premium, told I’m not paying for premium

*2022-10-11, version 2020.8*

I’ve been using this app for a while now. Suddenly, I’m being told I have a limited number of actions available unless I pay for premium. But I already pay for premium. I’ve tried restoring the purchase and re installing without success. I don’t want to cancel the subscription but I’m paying for nothing at the moment.

### 1/5 — App keeps crashing!

*2021-08-28, version 2020.8*

Every time I hit a button, the app crashes.

### 1/5 — Horrible app and they do not respect my private data!

*2021-08-23, version 2020.8*

Do not trust them! Your data is not safe!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A great help for the time blind

*2024-07-28, version 2020.8*

I was looking for an app like this for a long time before I found this one. I was even looking into learning how to create apps, just so that I could have something that would work for me. Fortunately, I found an app that does exactly what I need in order to manage my time well.

Of all the time management apps that I’ve tried, and I tried a lot, this is the only one that works backwards from the time you need to leave the house, and depending on how long each task takes, tells you when you need to get up.

### 5/5 — Really helps me time block my morning

*2024-06-06, version 2020.8*

The other reviews have led me to believe that this app is no longer being actively supported by the creator (who, if I recall correctly, also has ADHD and I assume has lost interest/motivation for now in favor of a new project). That’s the only thing that has prevented me from getting the paid version, as I find this app much easier to use than other routine/time-management apps I’ve tried. Fortunately, the lack of updates has not interfered with this app’s functioning at all, and I definitely recommend it!

I only wish I could add additional routines (something that’s available in the paid version), and I kind of wish the bars extended to visualize the extra time spent when I go overtime on a task. I also wonder if timer circles would work better for me rather than timer bars/lines. However, I love that even in the free version you can enter up to 15 tasks and that you can constantly move those tasks around or edit them when you need to change things up from one day to the next.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2024-04-07, version 2020.8*

Have found this app so helpful in understanding how long tasks will take and not forgetting any steps in my morning and night routine. I also am motivated to race the clock so I find myself getting more and more efficient. I really have found it so helpful.

### 5/5 — Best app for ADHD

*2023-08-21, version 2020.8*

This app helps me so much! I am now not always late. I would not live as well as I have been without this app lol. That is not a lie. This app has transformed my time management skills.

### 5/5 — How did I manage without this?

*2023-05-08, version 2020.8*

Edit four years after original review: STILL one of the most essential apps I own. Love it. I subscribe to the premium version as the ability to add extra routines is really worth it for me.

Original review: I love this app - as a quite disorganised person it has been incredibly helpful in the morning and evening. The morning especially, as it has helped me to get to work on time and less stressed.

### 5/5 — One of my longest-running and all-time favorite time management apps

*2023-04-10, version 2020.8*

I have been a premium subscriber for years and Routinist is one of my all-time favorite apps! There are so many organizational and productivity apps on the App Store, but none of them work for my needs quite as perfectly as Routinist does. The ability to start with my departure time (in the morning) and work backwards to the start of my evening routine (while also calculating the time for sleep and everything in between) has been a game changer for me. I hope this app never goes away!

### 5/5 — Help button is helpful!

*2023-02-22, version 2020.8*

I just wanted to say, that help button is helpful! In the tutorial says that you did like worked really hard on it, so I see where I’m coming from. Anyways just know that your help button is helpful!

### 5/5 — A neurodivergents dream

*2023-01-09, version 2020.8*

I used this app when I was finishing university and then for a period of time thought it was gone! I’m so happy it’s back. I have severe ADHD and since I can’t take stimulant medication (due to its mixing with other mental “disorders”) this app helps me stay on track with the self help routines I need to function. It would take me a week or mental overwhelm to journal, meditate, do yoga, meal prep, and exercise. Now I can do all those things before I start my day. As someone with disability and a health care professional and app developer myself I love it. Premium is beyond worth it. The feeling of health without medication is a godsend

### 5/5 — PLEASE make an Apple Watch version!!!

*2022-12-24, version 2020.8*

I have been using this app for 5 years, and it is an absolute life-saver for my ADHD. I haven’t been able to find anything else like this app, and I’ve looked very hard. The only thing is that it can be awkward to carry around my phone as I’m doing my routines. Please make an Apple Watch version!! I would pay a lot of money for an improved Apple Watch version of this app.

### 5/5 — The best routine app.

*2022-05-11, version 2020.8*

This app is a one of a kind. It works differently to other routine / habit apps and the system is the only one that works perfectly for me. I think the simplicity of the design is a plus as it’s keeps you focused on just the tasks.
Although great for everyone, I feel the apps real strengths lay in helping those who may experience time blindness, working memory issues and / or other executive function issues.
I look forward to seeing how the app develops in the future. Thankyou dev!
