The app constantly logs you out for no reason and you have to use the truly diabolical landscape keyboard to log back in. And the landscape keyboard covers the entry field when you type. It would appear the developers have spent considerable time on an expensed work trip to some of the nicest cycling locations they could think of. But nobody actually bothered to check if the app is functional. ### 3/5 — Preferred app but CRASHES frequently *2026-08-02, version 4.6.7* ROUVY is very much my preferred indoor program, except that it crashes frequently and sometimes when well into a ride or workout, which is very frustrating. If/when the problem is ever fixed, I’ll bump my score up to 5 stars. ### 4/5 — Ohne elektrische Schaltung besser *2026-07-02* Ich nutze ROUVY seit gut zwei Jahren und war bisher sehr zufrieden. Die Strecken sind abwechslungsreich und machen wirklich Spaß. Seit der Einführung der elektronischen bzw. virtuellen Schaltung gefällt mir das Fahrgefühl allerdings deutlich weniger. Ich habe mein Rennrad bewusst mit einer kürzeren Übersetzung ausgestattet, damit ich auch steile Anstiege realistisch bewältigen kann. Durch die virtuelle Schaltung spielt die tatsächliche Übersetzung des Fahrrads nun kaum noch eine Rolle. Das macht das Fahren für mich deutlich unrealistischer. Vielleicht gibt es eine Möglichkeit, die virtuelle Schaltung komplett zu deaktivieren – ich habe eine entsprechende Einstellung bisher leider nicht gefunden. The two options are both bad now. ### 4/5 — Decent rides *2026-04-21, version 4.5.4* I enjoy the rides and their rendering. Good selection. Good presentation of onscreen data like gradient change. Expensive for what it is but you can suspend membership. Rides take literally hours to download for offline use (no wifi in my pain cave). Wish you could turn off the gamification - annoying tokens appear mid ride. ### 4/5 — Good app *2026-04-18, version 4.5.4* App needs more diversity avatar options! ### 2/5 — Password manager support *2026-04-15, version 4.5.4* I’ve been using this app for two years and I’ve given it lots of time. In many ways, it has matured nicely. However, the lack of support for a password manager, when they regularly reset login tokens, is nearing a dealbreaker. Look it’s a first world problem, but when I get on my bike to work out, I don’t wanna have to login. I certainly don’t wanna have to login once a week. If you are going to build such a problematic system, support password managers. and since I’m complaining about the login process, please stop auto capitalizing email inputs if you’re gonna do that, at least normalize the email addresses. ### 2/5 — Crashes frequently *2026-04-02, version 4.5.2* I love the app and when it works, it’s a nice way to train. Lots of options from workouts to rides through some amazing countryside I’d never do in my normal life. However, I’m running the app through my AppleTV 4k with a fast Ethernet connection and the app frequently crashes during rides. Rouvy needs to fix this as it appears to be an app problem and not a hardware/network issue. ### 1/5 — Difficult to cancel *2026-04-02, version 4.5.2* You can’t even cancel on the app and they charge you even if you do cancel or try to switch to monthly billing ### 2/5 — Keeps crashing *2026-03-28, version 4.5.2* Since a few weeks the App keeps crashing on my older iPad which I have dedicated for the purpose of indoor cycling. I guess this started with one of the recent updates. Really annoying. Today it happened just as I was about to start pedaling - thus had to go and start selecting a ride from scratch. Then, it happened again after an hour 150 m before the finish line! My wife says it crashes almost every time she rides… needless to say that this is a major problem. Considering trying another App instead of paying $30 a month for something that doesn’t work reliably. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Such a POS *2026-08-08, version 4.6.7* Somebody needs to fire these developers. This app has been trash ever since it started. I still have no idea how anybody pays this company money. Complete inconsistencies across Mobile, Apple TV, app crashes, virtual remotes are useless, none of the main features work. I could see no options to adjust ambient sound. What’s the point if a video of you have to experience it as a dead person. I am using an iPad 5th Gen for my Indoor Cycling. Used it for years with Zwift and also for more than a year with Rouvy without problems. But since earlier this year the App crashes every time we use it. I had high hopes when there was a new version, but there is no improvement. Last week it crashed 3 times in my 1 hour ride. Sometimes it crashes even before starting pedaling. We are paying $30 for two accounts and it is super annoying. I should get my money back or a credit. Otherwise I am going to switch to another solution. They tried to charge me for 2 full years when I did NOT consent for that. ### 1/5 — BUYER BEWARE- Rouvy will immediately suspend your subscription and cheat you out of remaining time. *2026-04-08, version 4.5.2* Suspended my subscription because I was going to be traveling for a month. Had 3-weeks left on my paid monthly subscription. I suspended my account a few days before I left for my trip, and Rouvy immediately suspended my account and cheated me out of 3 weeks of pre-paid service. My expectation is that if I pre-pay for a monthly service, Rouvy honors my payment until the end of the billing term. Really sleazy business practice. Full stop. I should not have to waste both my time and Rouvy's customer service time trying to receive services I pre-paid for. But with the last two updates the crashes are gone. The virtual pace partners are much better too so I have buddies to draft off of just like in real life. I didn’t want to risk the open roads again so decided to try indoor cycling. ROUVY is perfect for me. I love the real feeling it gives and since riding have lost well over a stone in weight which was one of my goals. Since joining Rouvy, I’ve started to really enjoy and look forward to my bike sessions. There’s so many routes to choose from, I find when doing a ride it’s so immersive and realistic that time flies by and it’s really helped with my bike fitness.
