## What is RowSwift?

RowSwift lets you explore and analyze comma-separated files right on your device. Open a CSV from Files, iCloud Drive, a URL, or the clipboard and inspect its structure.

The app summarises each column by showing counts, unique values, minimum and maximum, mean, and quartiles. You can switch between histogram, box plot, scatter plot, pie chart, and line views to understand distributions and relationships. When a file is large, row filters help you focus on what matters while keeping scrolling smooth. You can save any chart as a PNG, and you can write data back to CSV.

All processing stays on your device. RowSwift collects no analytics and requires no account.

## Key features

- CSV file import from various sources
- Column statistical summaries
- Multiple chart types (histogram, box-plot, scatter-plot, pie, line)

### 3.0 — 2026-10-10

RowSwift 3.0

A fresh new look!
RowSwift has been redesigned from the ground up. Darker, calmer screens let your data stand out, with colors that tell numeric and text columns apart at a glance.

Rebuilt charts
- Every chart now shares one layout, with live stats and more dynamic elements.
- Switch columns right from the chart header.
- Customize each chart in place:
  - Histograms: bars, area or line, automatic or custom bins, and percent or cumulative counts
  - Box plots: points or raincloud views
  - Scatter plots: trend lines, and color by a text column
  - Pie charts: donut, pie or ranked bars

New: Correlation heatmap
See how every pair of numeric columns relates, using Pearson or Spearman. Tap a cell to explore that pair.

New: Compare Groups
Compare a numeric column across the categories of another.

Better chart exports
Pick a shape (4:3, 1:1 or 4:5), a theme and a title, and choose exactly what appears, with a live preview before you share.

Redesigned Group-By
Pick your aggregates and get one clear card per group, sortable by name or size. Search now filters Group-By results too.

Smoother importing
Preview the first rows before importing, with the separator detected automatically. Load from URL checks the address as you type, and Enter Table Data shows the shape of your table live.

Fixes
- Group-By averages and maximums are now correct when a column has blank cells.
- CSV export keeps your values exactly as imported. Numbers like 0.5 or 007 are no longer changed.
- Files with duplicate or blank column headers now open correctly.
- Charts no longer occasionally open with an empty axis.
- Searching large files is faster.

### 2.0 — 2026-03-27

- Dataset Library: Save your favorite datasets and access them anytime from the home screen. Tap the bookmark icon to save, long-press to delete.
- iCloud Sync: Your saved datasets automatically sync across all your devices via iCloud Drive.
- New user tips: A helpful TipKit popover guides you to the bookmark feature the first time you open a dataset.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-02-18

New "Column Operations" section in Dataset Overview for performing computations across columns. The first supported operation is the correlation between two numeric columns.

### 1.3.1 — 2025-10-02

Improved navigation when selecting visualizations.
