### 2/5 — Needs a big update

*2025-11-04, version 1.9*

This app needs to keep the location on even when not riding. Unless you want to keep clicking "connect " every time you want it to connect to your phone. Also there is no reason why the screen needs to be on to do navigation on the tripper TFT. Please spend money / time on this app. I love my new Himalayan 450 but wish this app was way better.

### 2/5 — Needs location set to ALWAYS

*2025-09-29, version 1.9*

App wont work unless location settings are set to ALWAYS it wont work with the setting “location on while using app” Why does RE need to know my location via the app when I am not using it? App says it needs Btooth to connect to the bike, but then wont work unless it can also scan my entire wifi network. You see the narrative here…

### 3/5 — Needs improvement

*2025-09-17, version 1.9*

It could be a great app if it could run in the background without the need to keep your screen on, wasting battery

### 2/5 — Not functional

*2025-08-30, version 1.9*

When are you planning to improve it to make it work at 100% with iPhone, it’s impossible to use it while. In a trip, because it loses connection when the phone is blocked. Spotify doesn’t work either.

### 1/5 — Needs SERIOUS REWORK

*2025-06-23, version 1.9*

Bought a super meteor about a month ago, and I really was excited about the onboard navigation, only to find the app doesn’t connect to the tripper pod whatsoever. Very disappointing. Now I have to spend money on aftermarket one instead of using the factory one like I wanted to. The app needs serious work

### 1/5 — Cannot save device message

*2025-06-18, version 1.9*

I am able to connect my iPhone to my RE tripper pod but then the connection drops immediately saying cannot save device . Worst app experience so far

### 2/5 — Esperando actualización

*2025-06-01, version 1.9*

### 1/5 — Do better

*2025-05-23, version 1.9*

Be better. Learn. Innovate. The app, the software, the bike.

### 1/5 — Connect issues

*2025-05-21, version 1.9*

Cannot connect to the App with my iPhone. Says cannot save data. That is a lost of time

### 1/5 — Sin poder enlazar

*2025-05-19, version 1.9*

### 1/5 — Couldn't save the device. Please try again

*2025-05-18, version 1.9*

You are selling bike officially but didn’t add app support in our country, how funny is that 😡

### 1/5 — Would not save device.

*2025-05-18, version 1.9*

Wouldn’t save device so I could never try it. Basically it’s a nice little clock now.

### 1/5 — Doesn't connect to display on Meteor 350

*2025-04-28, version 1.9*

This app won't remain connected to the display on the meteor 350. It connects long enough to update the clock but that's about it. Really not useful as it was designed to be.

### 1/5 — Not so good

*2025-04-25, version 1.9*

The app will not stay connected to the motorcycle. At first it would connect, and then I would have to reconnect after each start of the motorcycle and now it won’t even connect at all. Terrible app.

### 1/5 — Not able to save tripper pod

*2025-04-25, version 1.9*

I recently got this installed but I can’t save the pod to my app.
I can’t even see anything on the app. It shows no routes or anything.

Another update: the support team emailed saying they have forwarded my request to the respective team and I’m still waiting for an update from that team.

Seriously if your team can’t fix this issue I’ll fix it.

### 1/5 — Can’t even log in

*2025-04-25, version 1.9*

App asks you for an email to send a verification code to. Fine. Unfortunately, the codes they send never work. I tried four or five times, and kept getting an error message: “Alert! Something went wrong.”
So yeah, this is a useless app.

### 1/5 — Does nothing

*2025-04-20, version 1.9*

Won’t save bike after connecting. Nothing fixes it. I asked the salesman at the dealership and he said he does not know of a single customer who has got this app to save their bike. I now have a brand new super meteor 650 with a for show only tripper pod.

### 1/5 — Unable to connect to Tripper Pod

*2025-04-18, version 1.9*

When trying to connect to the tripper pod it was able to detect the tripper pod and able to connect but immediately seeing the pop-up message as “Couldn’t save the device. Please try again later”

Have tried multiple times but still the same result.
Bike: Shotgun 650
Mobile: iPhone 14 Pro Max

### 1/5 — Needs severe AI maintenance

*2025-04-18, version 1.9*

I just bought my super meteor 650 and I was super excited to try the tripper app and everything because I can see all my navigation turns and it’ll be easy on long rides. I was excited. Getting the app set up as simple but the issue is after you install the app. Once you connect, your tripper immediately disconnects every single time. It will not save your tripper. Wanna allow you to do anything else there’s no other options. It just is able to open your app. Congratulations the app open actually work

### 1/5 — Sin conexión Meteor 650

*2025-04-15, version 1.9*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2025-10-20, version 1.9*

I’ve been trying to get this app going, but I can’t get past the initial launch page because they do not send me the 6 digit code needed to continue. It appears this app is no longer supported, which makes on gauge on my Meteor worthless. I can’t even set the time of day.

### 1/5 — Would be nice if it worked…

*2025-10-18, version 1.9*

The app shuts down randomly and needs to be synced several times during a trip, which is frustrating. It requires that location services to “always be on” for the app to work, so it’s constantly collecting data
This app also requires your phone to be unlocked while using it, which drains your phone battery very quickly, which means you have to keep your phone plugged into the USB-C port. To do that, you probably need to mount your phone to the handle bars, which means you can just use your phone for navigation. It works significantly better than the RE App.

### 1/5 — Problemas con la app

*2025-10-14, version 1.9*

### 1/5 — Worst support

*2025-10-10, version 1.9*

Wrote multiple times, only record acknowledging that they received the issue never herd back at all!

### 1/5 — Not very useful

*2025-08-31, version 1.9*

Nice try but very limited use in North America. It only works with the simple Tripper gauge and cannot be used as a stand alone app. I don’t mind the simple arrows for directions but sometimes it’s nice to see the map without the phones display going to sleep.

The biggest downfall is it will not save routes or locations which makes it difficult to pre-plan a road trip.

So the Tripper gauge just takes up space on the dash to display the time, which the speedo already displays. At least the times could sync between the 2 rather than showing different times.

### 1/5 — Tripper non-functional on my new Shotgun

*2025-08-26, version 1.9*

After installing the App I can connect via Bluetooth to the tripper pod, but the tripper device is never saved to my phone, so it never succeeds to fully connect and provide any navigation functionality. The tripper pod is on a new Shotgun purchased in November 2024.

### 1/5 — Decent UI, but never routes anything so I can’t use it unfortunately

*2025-08-05, version 1.9*

It connects with my phone, but never creates a navigation route…useless.

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2025-07-31, version 1.9*

What can I say other than I don’t use it. I’ve seen lots of complaints about how glitchy this app is and it shouldn’t be that way. Royal Enfield should update it and fix the problems so that we can use it seamlessly from our smart phones to the motorcycle Dashboard interface.

### 1/5 — Unbelievably Low quality

*2025-07-02, version 1.9*

I spent an hour trying to connect my phone with my new RE Himalayan. It won’t connect. The instructions referred me to a YouTube video, and a low quality one at that. My grill/smoker has a better app/software than my new motorcycle. Had I known it was this bad I would’ve bought a KTM. Immediate buyers remorse. Shame on RE for having such a poor system.

### 1/5 — No sirve

*2025-07-01, version 1.9*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Not perfect but it’s really useful

*2022-08-05, version 1.3*

Yeah, this is superior to anything else I’ve used

### 5/5 — what gps should be

*2022-05-16, version 1.3*

the current app has the avoid highway feature and it works perfectly. The post ride summary is great. it shows the next turn. Simple clea effective

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-09-12, version 1.3*

I bought a Meteor 350 yesterday and today I discovered the “avoid highways” feature that so many reviewers have described and requested. I am so glad this option is in the app and it really makes the app terrific in my mind because I also do not want to take my bike on the interstate. To avoid highways you click the three vertical dots to the very right of the destination entry bar and it will give you options such as “avoid highways” and “avoid toll roads” etc. Love the bike and love the App.

### 5/5 — It works

*2021-07-21, version 1.2*

I tested it and works. Im from puerto rico and i haven’t had issues

### 4/5 — Working pretty good but a few niggles

*2024-04-03, version 1.5*

1) How can I tell what version I’m on? 2) Please allow saving routes, it’s a pain to have to re-enter routes every time I want to go to a different one of my favorite locations, it would be a much better application that way. I sincerely hope that you aren’t waiting to put that behind a pay wall as that would be massively bad advertising for your motorcycle line, probably enough for me to just remove the tripper and put something else in that spot and just get a gps device. And badmouth you harshly where now I have been singing the Himalayan’s praise to every motorcycle rider that I encounter. Don’t do that.

Update 1 year later

You still can’t save routes, I have worked with Indian programmers in Pune and other places multiple times and you/they are good enough to have done this easily. WHY AREN’T YOU DOING THIS??? It doesn’t require any more hardware than you already on the smartphone. For any significant trips I now have to mount a gps which uses up handlebar space I could really use for other things. If I continually have to use an external gps then your device is just a useless irritating ornament. WHY DON’t YOU JUST DO IT???

### 4/5 — Working pretty good but a few niggles

*2023-05-27*

**Developer response:** Hi, we are sorry that you faced an issue. Could you please share your contact details with us at reprimesupport@royalenfield.com so that we can get in touch with you and resolve the issue. Regards, Royal Enfield

### 4/5 — Simple but limited

*2023-05-05, version 1.5*

Does what it claims to do, but lacks basic features like saving places or routes within the app, or reordering of waypoints. Refuses to begin navigation unless location data is set to “always allow”, which is unfortunate for privacy and battery life.

Update: RE support responded and it turns out you can reorder waypoints by dragging them. I thought I had tried that but I guess I didn’t try hard enough ☺️

### 4/5 — ok

*2023-03-17, version 1.5*

decent

### 4/5 — He is not compatible with iOS update.

*2022-09-14, version 1.3*

This app was working fine on my iphone until I updated my phone to iSO 15.7. now when I try to run it the phone says the app is not supported and that I need to update the app. Unfortunately here in the USA there currently is not a new update available on the App Store. I tried resetting the phone but without success in solving the problem. I know they’re supposed to be coming out with an update for this but so far it’s not available here in the USA.

### 4/5 — Finally much needed update

*2021-08-08, version 1.3*

After so much of waiting, RE finally made the update to switch to units between Miles and Kilometers. Initially only Kilometers/Meters was the only measurement unit.
It has a minimalistic display with just the current turn/direction and immediately following turn/direction.
Woul have been great if it could display the number/name of exit or turn also but given the small size of display screen, it might not be possible.

The option to update system software is non functional under the connected device settings.
