### 3/5 — Get rid of ‘Boss’ and bring back screenshots

*2026-08-06, version 5.4.0*

The ‘Boss’ intro is gimmicky and not suited to a serious finance app.
Screenshot function has gone so I now have to write things down. That’s not progress. At least make that function user choice.

### 4/5 — Good, but…

*2026-08-01, version 5.4.0*

Nice app to work with but, as said by many people have referred to, PLEASE stop calling me boss. I understand it’s to bring it in line with your adverts, but it sounds very unprofessional.
Also, it would be better if you didn’t have to log in first BEFORE finding out you are maintaining the site/app and, why is this always on a Saturday morning when I go to check it. They are my only two issues.

### 3/5 — I'm not a 'BOSS'!

*2026-07-28, version 5.3.0*

The mechanics of the app are fine but who's stupid marketing.decision was it to change the home page with calling me your 'Boss' It rankles me and sounds condescending. If you call me anything you should use "Mr <surname>". or just revert to how it was before. Looks very unprofessional at the moment

### 3/5 — App

*2026-07-15, version 5.3.0*

slow and often unavailable

### 3/5 — Dreadful Patronising Greeting

*2026-07-14, version 5.3.0*

Whoever had the idea to use the “You’re The Boss” & “Hi Boss” greetings in the app, needs to have a word with themselves, (or anyone else), in my opinion. It makes the platform look as though it has no gravitas. Not what I want from and organisation, holding onto my retirement fund. If I am The Boss and everyone else with and account is The Boss, who’s making the big decisions. Please change it back.

### 3/5 — Screen shots

*2026-07-09, version 5.3.0*

Has anything changed with screenshots while in the app? Seem to get a black screen on iPhone when taking screen shots from the app. This doesn’t happen when logging into Website.

### 3/5 — “Hi boss” is an ick

*2026-07-08, version 5.3.0*

Please remove it - it’s just so cringe

### 4/5 — Graph

*2026-07-06, version 5.3.0*

The App is a much better but would like to see a graph showing how my pension has performed over time

### 3/5 — Sort out the time delay!

*2026-07-04, version 5.3.0*

The app is good when it works. However, it is disabled for far too long when extra/ad-hoc payments are made.over 4 weeks I waited for the app to ‘return’ and the staffer I spoke to about it needs some polite customer service training. Overall, unimpressed.

### 1/5 — Issues with the app

*2026-07-03, version 5.3.0*

Need graph so you can see the growth - if more that one policy then the. Separate and together. Date of when money goes in my just the month. Graph of how the policy that you are in has worked over the last 1 month, 3 month , 1 year, 3 year 5 year. Would be able to change your retirement date ok the app

### 1/5 — Feedback

*2026-07-03, version 5.3.0*

It’s very confusing that it says i have payments for Apr may and June but only 2 payments are showing

### 2/5 — Loss of function

*2026-07-03, version 5.3.0*

The app was a good way of tracking the performance of a pension, but the ability to take a screenshot for record keeping has just been removed. Why do that?

### 1/5 — Contributions STILL not aligned with actual payments

*2026-07-02, version 5.3.0*

The app still shows that all contributions have been made by employer. The website shows correct and unpaid contributions, so if you don’t check the website you’ll have no idea your employer hasn’t paid in the deduction made from your salary..

### 1/5 — Unprofessional greeting

*2026-06-21, version 5.2.0*

I am disappointed by the tone of this app. Upon logging in, the app greets me with "Hi boss." For a financial institution, I expect a professional and serious interface. This feels informal and inappropriate for managing personal finances.

### 2/5 — Can no longer access

*2026-06-12, version 5.2.0*

Errors now appearing blocking access as thinks I have an insecure network

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Removed ability to take a screen shot in the app

*2026-08-15, version 5.5.0*

I have a fair number of investment apps. Once a month I take screen shots of all my balances and upload them to my AI investment tool. This is no longer possible with the Royal London app.

### 1/5 — Very poor customer information

*2026-08-04, version 5.4.0*

The customer app is very poor - it didn’t show you graphs on past performance - only a daily value and a total of profit or loss - other providers - such as true potential have a fabulous app where you can see clearly growth - dips, highs etc since inception - they need to look at doing something similar

### 1/5 — Cannot see all of my plans

*2026-07-31, version 5.3.0*

I have 4 pension plans with Royal London but can now only see 1 on the App. Up until a few months ago the App provided details of all 4. I have called and spoken about this to your team but still not resolved. Poor service and is encouraging me to consider moving by pensions to another provider.

### 1/5 — Poor service and communication

*2026-07-23, version 5.3.0*

I transferred £10k into an existing pensions plan with Royal London before the end of the tax year for tax efficiency reasons. It took nearly a month for RL to apply the investment to my account and it still shows as starting on 27/4 meaning that I cannot reclaim tax from Inland Revenue. I have asked my Financial Adviser to intervene and RL have told him they are aware, the notes on the system are clear, but still it is not remedied. I have had no direct communication from RL and when I did try to complain, te new business team contacted me to open a new account! Unacceptable!

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2026-07-16, version 5.3.0*

Very clunky. Doesn’t provide all the information you want at your finger tips. Constantly unable to access because it is offline.

### 1/5 — Steve

*2026-07-14, version 5.3.0*

Fantastic overall

### 1/5 — I don’t like you because….

*2026-07-14, version 5.3.0*

In my career in Financial Services, I had an issue with ONE institution - Royal London. Around 2006/2007 I gave you a 1 week trial of a data service that I was selling at the time - you downloaded pretty much the whole database and then told me that you wouldn’t be subscribing! I have disliked you ever since.

I also HATE this new thing on your app where you’re calling me Boss - makes me feel like an Albanian drug dealer. PLUS I can no longer screen shot my plan summary numbers as before.

### 1/5 — Very Poor

*2026-07-05, version 5.3.0*

No trends or charts to track performance just a value number that changes. No useful features and they think it’s funny to refer to all their users as the Boss rather than our preferred names. Out of touch and the app is way behind other financial services providers.

### 1/5 — Where has the screenshot facility gone

*2026-07-04, version 5.3.0*

Can you let me know how to take a screenshot in the app please? Ive always been able to do this but the latest version of the app seems to have disabled this function. The screenshot just appears as a black screen.

### 1/5 — Screenshots no longer possible

*2026-07-04, version 5.3.0*

I updated the app and can no longer take a screenshot of my investments page.
Please restore the ability to screenshot pages in the app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The Boss

*2026-08-15, version 5.5.0*

I like the fact that you use the Boss to symbolise that we are owned by you. The app is so neat and easy to use. Well done designers. If the concern is that the use of the term Boss is deemed hierarchical then use say Stakeholder instead? Personally, I like it as makes me feel valued.

### 5/5 — Pension

*2026-08-11, version 5.4.0*

Excellent

### 5/5 — Easy to talk

*2026-07-21, version 5.3.0*

Royal London is easy to use and any information either online or telephone the staff are really helpful.Thank you.

### 5/5 — Great growth in my pension fund

*2026-07-20, version 5.3.0*

Royal London provide all the tools that enable to track and understand the progress of my pension funds , and have experienced super growth.

### 5/5 — Thanks for all your hard work !

*2026-07-04, version 5.3.0*

My only suggestion would be to show the annual fees or charges on the dashboard as this will provide greater transparency and will help users to monitor their pensions more easily.

### 5/5 — “Hi Boss”

*2026-06-07, version 5.2.0*

The app is perfectly fine but “Hi Boss” might be the cringiest thing I’ve ever seen. Please just use my name.

### 5/5 — Update it’s now fixed it wasn’t RL it was O2 deciding that SMS’s from Royal London was “likely spam”

*2026-04-07, version 4.8.0*

Checked the spam folder and all authentication codes were is a spam folder, all I had to do was report it as not spam and it was fixed and sorted!! Happy Days 😊

### 5/5 — Great Update

*2026-03-11, version 4.8.0*

Excellent new functionality.

### 5/5 — Terrible App

*2025-11-09*

I updated the App when prompted but following the update the site would not recognise my password so after 3 carefully checked attempts I pressed the ‘forgot my Password’. I then received an email asking for verification on my phone but the number was not my phone number! Don’t know who received the prompt but it wasn’t me. This is pretty scary.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for letting us know. It sounds like the phone number we have on record may need updating. Please contact our servicing team on 0345 602 1885, and they will look into this for you and help resolve the issue.

### 5/5 — DIY

*2025-02-19, version 3.10.2*

Very easy to make major changes oneself on line. Necessary checks and balances are in place but do not obstruct what one wants to do
