### 4/5 — App Enhancement

*2026-09-08*

Love the app and would rate it 5 stars of it had just two more features. First would be splitting sets to record progress on each side like Single arm supported Dumbbell Rows. This allows the ability to improving a weaker limb or recovery after an injury on one side. This applies to glutes too like Dumbbell Split squat. Second would be a rest timer between sets that we could set maybe as setup options or just in the workout screen where we can add in rest by 30 second increments or cancel it if we are moving right into another set or exercise. Maybe not everyone would want these but at least make them options for us if we do. Again, love the app Dr. Mike!!!

### 3/5 — Please change these

*2026-08-19*

As somebody who wants to structure my own plan: would be super helpful if you could make a split as many days as you’d like. I do 3 on 1 off and the app is rigid around a 6 day plan. Once you make your plan, why can’t you then change days around? My plan flipped workouts so now I have to restart and figure out why that happened. Also, when making your own plan, you should be able to copy paste workouts if most of what you do stays the same. Also week to week changes should be available in the mesocycle builder. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Great app, offensive price

*2026-08-18, version 1.4.0*

I’ve been using this app for years. I really like it, it’s the only one that regulates volume AND allows custom programs. Myoadapt is the only other app that regulates volume but doesn’t allow custom programs (fully your own exercises). Macrofactor Workouts and Alpha Progressions have progressive overload programming with rir but they do not regulate volume. There is just one problem with RP Hypertrophy; the price is offensive, disrespectful, and ridiculous.

### 3/5 — Poorly responsive without great signal

*2026-08-16, version 1.4.0*

This isn’t a critique of the program / format. The issue with the app is connectivity. This is essentially a web app - it cannot function without internet and doesn’t work very well if connectivity is poor. You cannot even enter data without a connection. If you’re in the corner of your gym that has poor signal, good luck using this app.

### 4/5 — Rest timer

*2026-08-04, version 1.3.0*

Latest update notes state: Checking "don't show me again" on the warm-up and rest timer tips now hides them immediately, instead of after your next set.

But there is no rest timer even though there should be.

### 2/5 — No offline mode - still lacks features

*2026-07-31*

What's the purpose of an dedicated app if you can not use it offline? Plus response times of the app is awful. There are tons of gyms in Europe where u don't have cell reception and the WiFi isn't working reliably.
And there is still no way to change the order of training days within the meso although I asked for it a few times over the years...

### 4/5 — Why no Abduction/Adduction muscle group??

*2026-07-20, version 1.2.0*

Makes zero sense considering this is supposedly a hypertrophic app. Everything else is top notch

### 3/5 — Almost There

*2026-07-03, version 1.2.0*

The app is mostly great, but a few things really hold it back. First I should be able to change from KG to ibs for each workout. My plates are metric, my machines are ibs. Currently I have to play plate math every time. Next there isn't an easy way to change custom excersises after you create them. I want to be able to edit whenever I want.

### 5/5 — Best gains ever!

*2026-06-27, version 1.2.0*

Best gains of my life! I’ve never gotten growth from my chest or shoulders, and this app is able to focus in on that and really deliver the volume intelligently. My only request is to report soreness all at once before beginning a workout, as once I’m warmed up and lifting, I’ve kinda stopped feeling sore and sometimes forget which muscles were sore.

### 4/5 — Great workout plans

*2026-06-23, version 1.1.0*

App works well, great exercises, helpful videos and targets. Wish it had progress analytics like Strongs. This app would level up if it did.

### 5/5 — Best workout app

*2026-06-21, version 1.1.0*

This is by far the best workout app I have ever used.

### 5/5 — Keeps getting better.

*2026-06-09, version 1.0.9*

I’ve been using RP Hypertrophy since 2024. It was good then, but it has come a long way and constantly improves. Love building my own programs, but there are tons of templates to choose from. If you take your training seriously, this is the way to go.

### 4/5 — Effective Mesocycle Programming

*2026-06-08, version 1.0.9*

Love the programming and the sophisticated AI. The only downside is the app will load up the sets for the next workout if your feedback is mostly positive. Also, it doesn’t save weights and reps from previous programs.

### 4/5 — WatchOS??

*2026-06-05, version 1.0.9*

awesome app but would love the ability to push workouts to an apple watch

### 5/5 — just my opinion

*2026-06-04, version 1.0.9*

with all the new work out plans out there. wheres the basics.
or the new stuff? UL/PPL ? its a great app don’t get me wrong.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not good

*2026-08-22, version 1.4.1*

Too many kinks. Doesn’t let you undo sets you accidentally skip. Total waste of money, don’t do it

### 1/5 — Too expensive for what it is

*2026-08-13*

Just get an excel sheet or something

### 1/5 — It’s pretty generic/bad

*2026-07-14, version 1.2.0*

I really wanted to like it. I love mikes content. This app is dog meat… plans are horrendous… videos aren’t anything different or better than you could get off YouTube for free.

### 1/5 — No Free Trial, No Purchase

*2026-07-04*

A free trial is a fair way for customers to evaluate any program or service. This company doesn’t offer a free trial but an immediate purchase. Some customers like myself do not know you. Why should I purchase your service right way? I have to see what you offer and evaluate whether it fits my needs or not. That’s evaluate is something no customer should pay for. I won’t be using your app since there are so many other freemium options to evaluate.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review and feedback. The app does require a subscription in order to use but if you reach out to our team at app.support@rpstrength.com you can see what offers we currently have to give the app a try!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-06-12, version 1.0.9*

Not intuitive at all. Can’t create programs on my own without running into roadblocks at every step. Was hopeful this would be a good app, but it sucks.

### 1/5 — Price is whack and app is just ok

*2026-05-14, version 1.0.7*

The app is behind others. You do get videos of mikes people doing very correct form which is it’s only benefit. Other than that it doesn’t help Hypertrophy no matter much you tell it “not enough” volume. It doesn’t even remember your stats from one meso plan to the next. So you start over every six weeks. Some available workout “plan” choices are just completely blank. Doesn’t sink with Health smh. I paid like $240 with a holiday special price for the year… overpaid by at least 10x. I did learn a couple of forms that are now better for me but definitely not renewing.

### 1/5 — Won’t open

*2026-05-11, version 1.0.7*

You literally need a starlink connection with 25 satellites hooked up to run this overpriced app. Gym wifi went out and app won’t even load on cell data. Completely ridiculous for an app this simple to so no functioning

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2026-04-17, version 1.0.7*

I am super experienced but this doesn’t do anything. Basically I’m writing the workouts for myself. And if I say I’m not able to use machines, it still gives me workouts with machines. SMH.

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2026-03-27, version 1.0.4*

I am super experienced but this doesn’t do anything. Basically I’m writing the workouts for myself. And if I say I’m not able to use machines, it still gives me workouts with machines. SMH.

### 1/5 — Overrated

*2026-03-16, version 1.0.3*

Completely overrated

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-25*

This app has totally changed the way I work out. It is easy to use and generally sets you up for success. I’ve been using it for 10 months. My only suggestion? I work out in two different gyms: 1 at home 1 at work. They have very different equipment so often the same exercise will have me doing vastly different weights. The app struggles to account for that. I know it’s a small minority of lifters in this position, but if you could toggle between “gym 1” and “gym 2” for each work out, that would be amazing.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-13*

Love the app and all the different program options to work on different muscle groups

Only criticism is sometimes a bit slow to load

**Developer response:** Thank you for the great review! Glad you're loving all the program options 🙌🏻 We appreciate the note on load times. This can at times be related to your connection. For any questions or concerns please reach us at app.support@rpstrength.com!

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2026-08-12, version 1.3.0*

This app makes progressive overload easy to track and maintain month over month. I have made the best gains of my life with this app.

### 5/5 — Very Cool

*2026-08-10, version 1.3.0*

Great app. Easy to use. Love the constant Template updates.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-07-28*

"Love this app, it's taken all the thinking away. It's constantly adjusting the weights, sets, and reps to get you the best results. Just follow it, be honest with yourself when it asks questions, and don't second-guess it. Turn up, do the work, and let your own personal coach in your pocket handle the rest."

**Developer response:** Thank you for your 5-star review!! 🙏🏻

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-07-15, version 1.2.0*

After lifting for 10 years this really help push myself even further

### 5/5 — A+

*2026-07-11, version 1.2.0*

It’s as if the developers of this app read my mind. It’s exactly what I wanted and executed so perfectly. Knowing Dr. Mike is behind the programming is immensely important to me.

### 5/5 — Love this app.

*2026-07-04, version 1.2.0*

Great app for people with a full time job that don’t want to think and get the results of a good periodization program. Good variety of exercises to choose from.

### 5/5 — Best designed gym app

*2026-06-30*

Whilst not cheap, this is the best designed gym app I’ve ever used. It’s intuitive and so well laid out. Very impressed. Only criticism if I have one, is that it’s not designed for an iPad.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your great review and feedback! I can certainly pass the feedback along to the team. In the meantime you can still use the app in its desktop format directly on the iPad or similar tablet like devices.

### 5/5 — Add workout dates? And everyday body weight?

*2026-06-28, version 1.2.0*

Recommend adding function where user can add everyday body weight and dates that users workout.
