*2023-09-04*

So as a almost 40 year old gamer I’ve been
Playing for almost the entire existence of video games. This game is a classic it has all the elements of our favorite old school rpgs but also is t long and drawn out which appeals to
Younger gamers as well. It’s just fun. Great game and thank you.

### 5/5 — Very few ads

*2022-11-18*

I’m 5-6 hours in and I’ve had very few ads and the ones I’ve had are easily escapable once they pop up. Great game, feels like a sister game to Dragon Lapis but upgraded.

### 5/5 — Amazing game, my favorite mobile game by far

*2022-10-11*

This game is just like any old school rpg you would play back on the nes and snes. I come back to play this game very year because of how amazing it is! Fun characters, fun combat, fun side quests, you can tell the developers put a lot of time and effort into the game.

### 5/5 — Old-styled, and full of memories.

*2022-10-06, version 1.1.2*

Been a while since I played this. Completely forgot about the scene where Abraham dreams the elf will snuggle him if he writes a review. That was really funny

### 5/5 — Game Review

*2022-09-23*

The game is very good. I am an old school gamer and truly enjoy games when they meet the classic requirements. MMORPGs have their merits but I prefer final fantasy style games where you actually can level up your characters without the rigor of having to deal with people who may or may not be on to form your party.

### 5/5 — Good

*2022-08-06, version 1.1.2*

I love these type of games

### 5/5 — Great game

*2022-07-29, version 1.1.2*

Great game, storyline, weapon development, enemy development. This game brings out the old school rpg genre and the aspect of the early rpg games.

### 5/5 — One of my favorites for iOS.

*2022-07-14*

Absolutely love the graphics and battle animations everything is basically perfect. Only thing I'm not big on is the whole multiple teams and switching out thing but you don't really even have to so it's not forced unto you. Well worth buying this and Dragon Lapis.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Shady Ad Deployment and Review Prompt

*2020-06-13*

I first played this game on the Nintendo Switch, but decided to try out the mobile version for kicks.

Honestly, the premium version is worth getting - as Dragon Sinker is a solid little RPG.

But this review is for the free version, with has deplorable ad placement and tries to trick players into leaving a positive review before most of the ads start popping up.

When I first started playing, ads only showed up on the save screen. It was a great method, I thought, as it guaranteed players would see ads almost every time they played, but at predictable, unobtrusive moments.

Then things got weird.

A bonus scene plays about an hour or so into the game, prompting the player to leave a review. It’s a cute scene, and I decided to write my first review praising the game and it’s method for deploying ads.

Then another hour into the game, they gave me a much less cute scene telling me that ads would now be more common and prompting me to buy the premium version.

Ads are now insufferable - there’s constantly a banner ad at the top of the screen, and pop up ads show up randomly - on top of the aforementioned save screen ads.

Pretty sure I’m going to stop playing now and be contented with the Switch release.

### 1/5 — Unplayable. Ads block saving, healing, and even purchasing. Design fail.

*2018-11-24*

Decent gameplay but the game is broken. It’s unplayable. Ads stack until the game crashes. Because the ads also cover the save button and don’t go away with no way to close them, it isn’t possible to progress beyond a certain point in the game. It’s a scam in that it lures you in with the tease of being able to play the game without purchases but it’s a lie. Without purchasing the ad blocker at the beginning, you CANNOT play through the game.

Edit: I found a workaround of sorts. If you can guess when the game is about to crash(heavy lag) and then close it before it crashes, and then reopen it and choose “continue” instead of “load”, about 50% of the time it will start you at the last screen you were in before you closed it. If you are fast enough, you can heal and save before the ads stop you again. Sometimes it starts from last save anyway though. Also...it appears my last bad review was deleted. Further evidence of a scam company.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2018-07-10, version 1.1.2*

Just garbage and not creative. Game mechanics are plain stupid.

### 2/5 — Bad version of Dragon Lapis

*2020-10-05, version 1.1.2*

It’s basically Dragon Lapis with no character progression choices, no equipment choices for most of your characters, and a ridiculous combat system where you have to input your actions in advance which often causes unexpected behavior.

Skip this and play Dragon Lapis instead.

### 2/5 — Unplayable because of ads

*2018-08-27*

At first the ads were so minor that I really didn’t mind, because I do understand the need for them. So when they said that I’d be getting more ads now, and my character had his two answer choices, I said I was cool with it. Then I got a small banner ad, and I could handle that just fine, but now there’s a square ad that takes up 2/3 of my screen that can’t be removed, I can’t save, and I can’t even read the thing on the ad eliminator page. Seriously, this isn’t what you do to your players, if you don’t want them to be able to play for free after a certain point, make it a second chapter that requires buying, don’t just force them to do it or stop playing through ads, and then basically lie by saying that you can play the whole game without spending money.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2017-12-31*

The gameplay is great and so is the story but it’s the ads that are absolutely horrible. I can understand that you need them because games aren’t cheap to make but, I have gotten an ad 4 times now that won’t leave the screen and takes up half of it making it impossible to play. Now I have to delete and re-download every time and it’s ridiculous. This game is amazing and deserves 5 stars but the ads need to be controlled so you can still play or dealt with in another fashion.

### 2/5 — Really?

*2017-12-18*

This game was easily worth 5 stars. It was fun, well balanced, and had amazing gameplay. It felt like a well put together old school rpg. And the ads weren't even that bad. I just had to watch an ad every time I saved which was reasonable and didn't detract at all from the game. Then the game started breaking the fourth wall to try to get me to rate the game then the adpocalypse started and I could barely see the game. I was fine with it being ad supported but it got ridiculous. So 2 stars for being cheap and money grubbing.

### 2/5 — Simple and fun

*2017-07-04, version 1.1.2*

One of the few apps that fairly simulates the experience of playing an actual video game

Oh. Addendum: Very Intrusive Ads

Well the joke's on me. The in game ads increase roughly 812% when you reach a certain point, just after it asks you to write a review. How impressively nefarious.

### 2/5 — Nice game but

*2016-10-16, version 1.0.0*

Play until after some point the ad starts come out ask to pay for remove it but after sometimes the ad will block the game play. It will not disappeared even you click on it and this giving me a feel that they're trying to force you to pay.

### 3/5 — Very nice

*2024-06-09, version 1.1.2*

So far so good

### 5/5 — Want snuggles

*2024-07-13*

Definitely gives the old-school vibes of a classic RPG controls could be improved, but I am happy with the overall experience good storyline dialogue good game.
