Suits my needs perfectly. RPN is versatile and your implementation is superb.

### 5/5 — Nice

*2025-10-19, version 1.0.8*

Good for quick calculations. Wish it had scrolling stack but otherwise nice.

### 5/5 — Amazing RPN calculator

*2025-10-15, version 1.0.8*

Very easy to use, super fast clean interface, good layout, no ads.

I love the simplicity and speed, I tried multiple other RPN calculators from the App Store and this one was the best, I have been using it for years and I love it, it just works.

### 5/5 — As advertised

*2025-10-13, version 1.0.8*

Excellent, simple call back to the HP 48 for people who like to do arithmetic RPN style.

### 5/5 — Très bonne app

*2025-10-05*

Une calculatrice ´HP’ simple et efficace avec un écran très pratique (contenu de la pile affiché)

### 5/5 — Best RPN app

*2025-09-30, version 1.0.8*

Having gotten used to RPN, I love that this app provides me the basic operations needed for my daily calculations. RPN is a definite logical method and this app provides 👍

### 5/5 — Brilliant for those preferring RPN

*2025-09-13*

Brilliant scientific calculator app for those preferring RPN. Ideal function set for what I do.

Super clear display, large keys. Works faultlessly, no crashes, utterly dependable.

Only calculator I use now, have used it for many years. Great to see the developer is still supporting it with another update this year (2025).

### 5/5 — Great RPN calculator app

*2025-08-22, version 1.0.8*

I used both of the HP SX and GX calculators back in college and loved them. I love having a calculator app that uses RPN and has a stack. The app works great and if you like a RPN calculator, I highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-08-02, version 1.0.8*

My go to calculator.

### 5/5 — Elegant

*2025-07-19, version 1.0.8*

I use this calc daily. It’s well-designed and as straightforward to use as my hardware HP.

### 5/5 — Everyday use

*2025-06-27, version 1.0.8*

I can no longer afford using any else calculator than an RPN one, especially this HP48 simulated RPN Scientific Calculator.
many happy returns to the developper.

### 5/5 — It works well on my iPhone

*2025-05-17*

I really like this calculator. I submitted a previous review of this calculator app when I just had an iPad and an iPod Touch.

I now use this calculator app on an iPad and an iPhone. I like the way this app works on my iPad and on my iPhone.

I still use this calculator app everyday, and I am still happy with it.

### 5/5 — Indispensable!!

*2025-04-19, version 1.0.8*

You can’t find a better calculator anywhere. Once you learn Reverse Polish Notation (RPN), an easy proposition, you cannot use any other. You will find even the most difficult computation very easy to resolve.

### 5/5 — My most used app

*2025-04-02*

I began using the HP48 in engineering courses and always felt that it gave me a huge advantage. So 30 years later I have this wonderful app that provides a powerful tool that I’m familiar with and I use it multiple times a day. Very happy with it!

### 5/5 — RPN

*2025-03-17, version 1.0.8*

RPN at it's best‼️

### 5/5 — I use this calculator everyday

*2025-02-13, version 1.0.8*

I really like this calculator. It doesn’t collect data on you. From what I understand, this calculator app is not an HP calculator emulator. However, it does use Reverse Polish Notation like some of the HP calculators do.

I use this calculator app several times a day everyday.

### 5/5 — Great calculator

*2025-02-02, version 1.0.7*

Have used HP calculators for engineering my whole career. Have owned a few HP48 family calculators. It is so great to always have one with me n my phone wherever I need it. One of the most useful apps!

### 5/5 — Great product

*2024-10-31, version 1.0.7*

Anytime I don’t have my HP around. It’s a easy click open.

### 5/5 — Not the full functionality of an HP-48

*2024-10-22, version 1.0.7*

Doesn’t have the full functionality of an HP-48, but heck better than an infix calculator

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Function Keys

*2023-05-10, version 1.0.7*

Each key shows an alternate function(s) but it’s not clear how to shift to them. There is no manual explaining how to use this calculator e.g. how to bring up tips. Once you purch this app it’s you can’t get a refund.

### 2/5 — Sympa mais...

*2020-01-28*

### 3/5 — Not a real HP 48g

*2020-09-25*

I bought this thinking it was a real HP 48g emulator. But no. Just a plain simple calculator. You can get the same for free elsewhere. Dont buy this. Thanks.

### 3/5 — Press ENTER to lift stack

*2020-08-24*

Could you please add this feature? It would be greatly appreciated

### 3/5 — Great calculator but might need to fix display

*2020-03-30*

Love how it calculates but can’t make it work right in landscape mode on my iPad. Mostly use my iPad in landscape but calculator only seems to display properly in portrait mode.
Is there any way to adjust it so it displays properly in landscape mode. If there is not any way to do this, a great update would be to make it automatically rotate so it displays properly in in portrait and landscape Thank you for the app.

### 3/5 — Ok - but could be improved

*2019-05-04*

with SCI /ENG number formatting
Complex Numbers would be also great

### 4/5 — Quite a handy replacement

*2025-04-01, version 1.0.8*

As a user of an HP 11C for 45 years, this app works well for my needs, so I rarely carry the old 11C out of my office 😄

### 4/5 — Good for everyday use

*2020-12-06, version 1.0.7*

I find this app gets the job done for most calculations I need to perform on a day to day basis. The app supposedly has a 100 line stack but doesn’t allow you to recall anything from that stack other than swapping with the previous. It’d be nice to pull a previous calculation to use in an operation.

### 4/5 — Reminds me of my old HP48GX

*2020-10-23, version 1.0.7*

I’m still getting used to the app, but it’s nice not having to force myself to use the regular calculator entry I have to force myself to use.

### 4/5 — Simplified HP48

*2020-08-14*

Gives the basic RPN performance of the HP48 series calcs in a somewhat familiar interface. Wish it had a few more features (like units) but very good for everyday computing for people used to RPN. Greatly miss my HP48gx; it was solid and had a great ergonomic feel (you never missed a key input unlike can happen tapping a phone screen). Granted there was a ton of features on it I no longer use (need) but I would love to see a better 48 emulator app available (like the old i48 app).

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — RPN Heaven

*2026-08-10, version 1.0.8*

I retired my HP35 when I got this app. It’s so much more efficient doing complex calculations. Love it!

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2026-07-16*

It's convenient to have most of the everyday functions of the hp48 with some added features (like more visible stack, bigger keys, undo, ....).

My favorite RPN app.

### 5/5 — Very Good hp 48/49 Emulator

*2026-04-16, version 1.0.8*

All self respecting engineering school students used the hp (real hp before Compaq merger) 48 and swan song 49 handheld calculators. I am amazed how tell this emulates it. With today’s dollars the real calculators sold for roughy $4k.

### 5/5 — Goldilocks RPN

*2026-03-21, version 1.0.8*

This calculator is just the right mix of features/functions from the wonderful 48 series machine. For those fortunate enough to have learned RPN, you can relive that experience every time you are greeted by a need for computation.

### 5/5 — My Go-To Calculator!!!!

*2026-02-15*

This app is so good that I almost don’t miss my old 48. The haptic feedback upgrade was a great addition. Love that this still works on IOS18.2.

### 5/5 — Fantastic calculator

*2026-01-27, version 1.0.8*

This is my go to calculator, and the best RPN calculator app I’ve tried.

### 5/5 — Just works!

*2026-01-27, version 1.0.8*

Grew up using RPN calculators and this one works well without any fuss. I’ve used this calculator for years now and use it for any hand calculations I need.

### 5/5 — Best RPN Calculator

*2026-01-19*

I've been using this app for a few years across a couple phones now and it's still the best one I've tried. Well worth the money. Fully functional no-frills interface that works smoothly.
This is my main calculator for work and home (engineering work, quick calculations that don't warrant writing a script or cracking open matlab)

### 5/5 — Great HP48 Reimagined

*2025-12-18, version 1.0.8*

This is the best HP48 RPN style calculator for iOS. Highly recommended if you love RPN and the venerable 48.

### 5/5 — Best RPN iOS calculator

*2025-11-27*

I’ve tried several free versions. I read the reviews and figured this one was worth the $4 risk.

No jankyness / bad UI. Mimics my old 48GX pretty well (minus the graphing features). Everything works as expected!

I don’t mind paying for software, especially if it motivates the developer to continue porting the app to each iOS release— (historically, a lot of my freeware apps have lost modern iOS support whenever Apple deprecates an old feature.)
