## What is RS?

"RS-R30I" is a remote control application for the ICOM Wideband Handy Receiver "IC-R30."
You can operate and change the receiver’s settings using an iPhone or iPad, and you can also check 
its settings.

  
Device requirements:
iOS version 9.0 or later for 64 bit CPU models.

Supported receiver:
Icom IC-R30

Refer to the instruction manual for details.

NOTE:
- The RS-R30I does not guarantee compatibility with all iPhones and iPads.
   It may not work, depending on its OS version, installed applications, and so on. 

- Confirm the IC-R30's Serial port function is set to"CI-V (Echo Back OFF)"
   ( [MENU] > Bluetooth Set > Data Device Set > Serialport Function )

- Bluetooth LE is used to connect with the IC-R30 and it is a slow data transfer. 
   So there may be a time delay between the receiver’s operation and the display on the data device. 
   In addition, depending on the receiver environment, it may not be able to operate properly.

- Bluetooth may be disconnected in the following cases:
   · The screen of the device is locked.
   · The application is running in the background mode.
   · Wi-Fi is enabled.
   · Connecting or removing a Bluetooth headset.

### 1/5 — Stopped working last year - no reason at all

Doesn’t work with iPad, doesn’t work with iPhone.  Sucks.  I have a perfectly good IC-R30 I can’t control any more.

Also - this app sucked when it did work.  Can’t listen to audio through the EUD, and can’t access most of the available functions on the receiver.

Massive fail, icom.  Do better.

Ne fonctionne pas sur iOS 18. Je n’utilise plus l’application depuis 2 ou 3 ans parce qu’elle avait cessé de fonctionner me mettant un message d’erreur « ERROR - TURN ON BLUETOOTH » J’avais oublié cette appli ces dernières années (espérant une mise à jour)… Aujourd’hui le 10/09/2025 je me suis dit «tiens si j’essayais de nouveau l’appli ! » et là… déception… même message d’erreur alors que mon iPhone est connecté à mon IC-R30. Il n’y a aucun suivi du développeur. Dommage. Je met 1 étoile parce que c’est obligatoire pour valider l’avis, mais n’en mérite absolument pas.

The main thing I love about this app is that for the first time, it has enabled me to use my Icom ICR 30 despite the fact that I am completely blind. This is great, because I would be unable to use my scanner without this app, because I am unable to see the scanner screen. However, this app makes using the Icom ICR 30 much more accessible for a blind user. In my opinion Icom should be congratulated for making this app so accessible. The only problem I have with the app is that when I have tried to increase the volume of the ICR 30 with the app, it sometimes changes the channel on the scanner.

C’est bien de faire des applications, mais un minimum de suivi est nécessaire. Impossible de se connecter en IOS 14.1 
J’ai pu essayer avec un vieil iphone en 13.5, en 2 secondes, il s’est connecté tout seul. 
Dommage d’avoir une application inutilisable.

やりたかったらCS-R30買えってことですね。
  PC無い人やCDドライブ無い人は本体ちまちまいじっていれるしかありません。
このアプリはあくまでフィールドで「簡単な操作」を本体見ないで行える「だけ」のものです。 まぁ無償なので今後も期待はしません。
