Unfortunately, it hangs several times a year, requiring you to completely delete, reload, and log into the app each time. ### 2/5 — Continuing problems with connectivity and functionality *2024-05-23, version 2.2.0* Noted comments by others about how rti also loses connection to wifi frequently. The comments were 2 years old but I still see that regularly now on may 2024. Rti apparently has not addressed the underlying issues. I cannot rely on the rti app to work with any consistency, particularly when trying to control audio sources and speaker zones. A related issue is that rti’s website does not provide for any meaningful way to provide feedback to the company. The perception is that they do not want to hear criticism of which there would be plenty. I thoroughly regret going with rti and look forward to replacing it in the future. I would advise others looking at home and Av automation and control software to pass on rti and keep looking. ### 1/5 — Begging for an update *2023-10-15, version 2.1.1* Please fix this app ### 4/5 — TouchScreen problem *2023-01-23, version 2.0* The current method of recognizing selection on the touchscreen upon “touch” press isn’t user friendly. It is prone to inadvertent and incorrect selection as it is too quick to recognize touch. This is specially frustrating for seniors who generally have some amount of hand tremors. Please modify it to recognize selection on “touch” release, like 99.99% of computers and smart devices do. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t work with iOS 16.20 *2022-12-25, version 2.0* Worked great until I updated my phone to iOS 16.20. Now just says “Please wait. System being configured.” Rebooted phone, reloaded app, and rebooted RTI hardware with no change. All other (not updated) devices running RTI panel still work fine. ### 2/5 — Intermittent Connection Issues *2021-11-22, version 1.6.0* The RTI Panel software loses it’s connection to the command processor on a regular basis. I ping the command processor and it’s still there. I have to reconfigure the RTI Panel software several times a day for our iPads to work. We’ve had a stable system for almost three years now and have kept our iPads up to date with the OS and the RTI Panel updates. This recent problem seems to be due to the updates. The issue seems common and I can’t find a solution. I like the system but this seems to be a bug with no viable solutions. Not too happy about it! ### 1/5 — Unable to connect on newer iPad *2021-10-16, version 1.6.0* No issues connecting on my old iPad 2 but trying to access the system via my newer iPad is frustrating! In fact I’m rarely able to connect these days. I have to assume the app developers just don’t keep up with OS updates because Apple stopped releasing updates for the iPad 2 in 2016. Please fix this because my old iPad won’t last forever. ### 1/5 — App stopped working *2021-08-31, version 1.5.1* The RTI stopped working on our iPhones 3 days ago, magically started working again today. We have no idea why. So frustrating. ### 1/5 — Very frustrating *2021-06-23, version 1.5.1* There are some products that just suck the energy out of you because they are so frustrating to use. This is one of them. You are not allowed to manage the software and after the (expensive) technician leaves it works wonderfully. Then the power goes down, or you change your router - or make almost any change and the software occasionally freezes, or slows or just stops working. Considering how much you have paid, this company really should test its products properly. ### 1/5 — Iphone version does not work after update *2021-06-11, version 1.5.0* iPhone version does not recognize system after most recent update. Every day we have sound and connection issues, anyone that comes to our house attempting to use the app also becomes very frustrated. Not sure if I Should blame RTI or the integrator Kole Digital. ### 1/5 — Bad *2021-03-27, version 1.4.2* Make it work on iPhone ### 1/5 — Rti panel *2020-12-20, version 1.4.2* Worst system EVER!! ### 1/5 — Possibly one of the most inconsistent and glitchy apps I have ever used. *2020-10-25, version 1.4.1* When this system is pitched, it seems incredibly innovative and time saving – except upon actual use, the software is incredibly glitchy and the app is mediocre and inconsistent at best. Every time there is an update, the app will freeze upon almost every use (both the app and the phone have their most recent updates) and will require deleting the app, along with then reconfiguring the app on your device. On top of that, it often results in blackouts, no access to signal, drop outs of picture or audio, and just general lack of the app to control appliances. This, as many other people seem to be attesting to, is terrible and requires a lot of bug fixes. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone as it does not simplify your controls, but instead over-complicates your entire setup. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Genuinely horrible *2026-07-26, version 2.3.10* It’s an old system, unfortunately that’s the sound system I have. It disconnects all the time and it’s impossible to troubleshoot. Now the RTI Panel app has updated and does not open on our two iPads that worked fine before. Crashes immediately upon opening. Uninstalled and reinstalled.. tried everything. I find myself having to pray for the system to work each day, or I end up waiting weeks while incurring additional service fees, only for it to break down again. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-04-23, version 2.2.0* We had a professional install the RTI app and custom features on an iPad 5 years ago. Surprise surprise the app crashed and can’t be updated on this iPad. We installed the app on our phones, thinking (naively) that we’d be able to easily log in from there and resume having a a remote control for our TV. Surprise surprise the app is useless. It prompts for the IP address and once entered there is no functionality to move onto a next step log onto our system. Good Lord, do I need to spend another $300 to get the TV guy back just so I can have a functioning remote control for my TV?!? ### 1/5 — Trash *2024-11-13, version 2.2.0* Never works. You have the ability to control the experience and give your client a custom tailored system. If the programmer knows what he is doing and has invested in developing a good interface the sky is the limit. ### 5/5 — This apps as good as your installer *2020-09-04, version 1.4.1* I install this system if it’s done right it’s a solid app. This app is only as good as your installer if you not have a good network it won’t work well. If done right it works perfectly. Assignment of static ip’s must be don’t and shorten your DHC in your router settings so that you don’t have other devices trying to grab your processors IP that’s the biggest mistake made. If you need better installers RTI has certified deals on their website. A professional installer will need to the programming and setup. It’s hosted by an RTI Control Processor. The App is stable and can be as simple and intuitive as your programmer can design it to be.
