## What is Rubber Bands?

Rubber Bands builds resistance band workouts around the bands you own. It picks the band and reps for every set, and tells you when to move up.

Add your bands once. Every workout after that is built from them.

THE BAND AND REPS FOR EVERY SET
• Each exercise comes with the band to use and the reps to hit, matched to your level and your goal
• Automatic mode builds a workout from the muscle groups you pick and the bands you have
• Build your own workouts too, or start from routines like Push/Pull/Lower and Upper/Lower

KNOW WHEN TO MOVE UP
• Progression reads your recent sessions of each exercise
• Hit the top of your rep range in two of your last three sessions, and it suggests the next band up
• When the next band is too big a jump, it can suggest stacking two bands instead

MADE FOR RESISTANCE BANDS
• Bands are first-class equipment, each with its own resistance range, not an afterthought on a gym plan
• Gym profiles for home, hotel and office, each with the bands and anchors you have there
• Built for loop bands, and it works with tube bands and loop bars like X3 and Harambe too
• Bands from any brand, from the built-in catalog or added as your own
• Band-assisted moves like pull-ups and dips

TRACK EVERY REP
• Sets, reps and the band you used, logged as you go
• Personal records, including the first time you use a new band
• Charts, streaks and a full workout log
• Log sets from your Apple Watch with your phone in your pocket
• A rest timer between sets
• Works offline: your workouts and history are stored on your phone
• Syncs with Apple Health and Strava

FREE TO START
Add your bands, try full workouts and track every set for free. Rubber Bands Pro unlocks unlimited workouts, AI workouts and exercise guide videos.

### 5/5 — Great companion for resistance band training

*2026-10-22, version 3.12*

The app packs in a ton of useful functionality catered to resistance bands. Huge exercise library with video guides and a really cool engine to generate varied workouts. The Apple Watch integration is slick and lets you log sets without touching the phone.

Tracking strength progression with resistance band training is inherently vague as a small difference in setup can result in a significantly different resistance. There’s no easy way to know exactly what your max is in terms of force, but all the other variables are tracked really well - band selection, reps, stacked bands, accessories used, and free text notes.

Dev is very responsive too. Very happy with the app.

### 5/5 — Impressive so far

*2026-09-23*

I got the app because I’m a long time lifter, new to resistance band training as a full-on replacement for barbells. I am shocked at how good this app is for the price. All I did was enter my equipment and rebuild the program I’ve been following by entering my lifting schedule, and then the app is now completely walking me through how to do it all with bands and how to progress.

I feel dumb for not doing this years ago. That’s the only downside. Zero sponsorship or affiliation, I just think the app is that good.

**Developer response:** Seriously thank you! 🙏

### 4/5 — Excellent, with one reservation

*2026-09-18*

This is much better, and cheaper, than the only real alternative (HarambeFit.) My one reservation is that it has a limited selection of built-in exercises, some of which don’t work well; e.g., hip thrusts. Fortunately you can add your own exercises, as well as excluding those you don’t like, but it’s a lot of data entry. An online library of user-contributed presets, and a way to download and install them, would be an improvement.

**Developer response:** Can you email me a list of exercises you’d like added? Is the gap with body weight?

🙏

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-09-03, version 3.9*

Scam

### 2/5 — Bad UI

*2026-08-03, version 3.2.0*

Good content, but for a paid app the UI is not good. Filtering is bad, customizing is bad, saving exercises sends them nowhere. Big yikes. Needs work.

### 3/5 — Bands workout rock

*2026-07-05*

It’s a nice app the exercises are solid the main issue is the bands and entering them and how it keeps track of it

**Developer response:** Can you expand on this? You may have a configured option that could be confusing. I'd love to help; feel free to reach out via email in the app.

### 1/5 — No Workouts Without A Trial

*2026-05-13*

Unless there was something I couldn’t figure out, you won’t be able to do ONE SINGLE WORKOUT without signing up for a trial. Which will auto-renew after 7 days according to their terms.

This wasn’t clear to me, again, unless I just can’t read, until I was about to start my workout after (🤯) the app sent me a reminder. Weird that it doesn’t gate setting the workout REMINDER behind the paywall, but it does gate your first workout behind that paywall.

Very irritated. It felt very scummy to not find out about the trial requirement until after putting sex, age, weight, height, physical fitness level, goals, workout equipment, etc in.

**Developer response:** Use the free Habit Builder workout. It’s free.

Add a workout and go to plans. It’s there - it’s totally free.

All the data is local. There was no email needed to use the app. I’m not collecting any of your data, it’s just used to power the algorithms.

### 4/5 — Great place to start. Just one request…

*2026-05-10*

We really like this app. I like that it provides suggested workouts, options for replacement exercises, and video guides for each exercise. There’s no family sharing so my husband and I each bought it so we could use it when we exercise together. I just wish we could sync the workouts between our phones so we’re both on the same program (without manually entering them each time) because the workout it “chooses” for me is different than on his app even with all of the same settings, so he’s not really using his app at all. We would just like to be on the same program. I’ve started putting the bands he uses in the “Notes” section of my app. We also spent A LOT of time inputting the bands that we’re using. That could probably be improved as well…otherwise - great app!

**Developer response:** Amazing that you work out together!

This is a use case I have not considered.

One option may be to use custom workouts. Those never change. I could also build a share workout feature that lets you scan a QR code.

Let me know your thoughts. Happy you like the app!

### 5/5 — Fantastic tool for tracking workouts!

*2026-04-30*

My strength workouts are exclusively it bands and I absolutely love all the tools and functionality of this app. They’ve thought of everything and it’s very easier to ensure that you are continually challenging yourself. Well done!

### 5/5 — Nothing like it. Extremely and pleasantly surprised.

*2026-03-17*

This is the app I have been searching for and could never find. As a 45 year old I find I prefer bands more and more over free weighs (though you can track those too). Finding your exact bands and tools in the app is an excellent addition. Subscribed yearly as a fellow dev, I can tell the work put into this and wish to support it. I don’t know what’s up with those two 1 star reviews - ridiculous. So I hope this offsets that some.

Note to the developer: if you ever have a temporary lifetime buy, I’d be down.

All the best and looking forward to seeing how you continue to improve!

Kind regards

**Developer response:** Thank you so much. Feel free to reach out in the app. Our stories and ages are similar. I'd love to optimize for fitness enthusiasts like us.

Thanks again!

- Reps per side now follow your setup. When your bands make an exercise one-sided, like Tricep Extension with a loop band alone, reps show per side and the exercise guide says so. Seated Hip Abduction, with the loop around both knees, shows plain reps.
- Fixed: the first change to a resumed workout, such as adding, replacing or removing an exercise, could be lost.

### 3.15 — 2026-10-24

- Your language, if you want it: during setup, Rubber Bands offers to switch to your phone’s language (German, Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese).
- Many more screens translated: logging, workouts, the band catalog, equipment names and timer notifications.
- Add exercises to a finished workout from the workout log.
- See every exercise when adding one, even if your gym is missing equipment. Exercises that need gear you don’t have are labeled, for example “Needs Door Anchor”.

### 3.13 — 2026-10-22

- A few UI improvements and Apple Watch fixes

### 3.12 — 2026-10-02

- Three new exercises: Good Morning, Behind The Back Curl and Lawnmower Row, each with demo videos.
- Strava uploads now include your exercises and sets, retry automatically after you reconnect, and can be resent with "Upload again".

### 3.11 — 2026-09-16
