### 5/5 — Only app I’ve ever found that truly understands resistance bands

*2025-04-29, version 2.3.4*

It’s a really great app. I’ve used various apps that claim to offer resistance band support before now, but it’s clear they’ve not been made by people who truly understand bands. They are made as though everyone has tubes, handles, loops, anchors at all heights and what not. This app really lets you customize your equipment including adding custom bands. Truly can’t think of a single feature I’d want to be added.

Thanks!

### 5/5 — Exceptional

*2025-03-13*

This is the best workout app available for bands. It’s fully customizable and allows you to stack bands together. You can create your own exercises, workouts, or choose from their pre-made ones. The only downside is the lack of Apple Watch integration, but I hope they’ll add it in the future.

### 5/5 — Top Notch

*2025-02-12*

This is a great app and the developer is both incredibly responsive and open to feedback. They are always working on making this app better and make it a priority to make the app as accessible and useful as possible. If you use heavy duty resistance bands, this is the app for you.

**Developer response:** Thank you!

### 5/5 — Perfection!

*2024-10-27*

This app is exactly what I was looking for. I got sick of our small local gym always being too busy so I ordered some bands. Then they came and I had no idea what to do with them (I’m relatively new to “weights.”) This gives me a program that’s customizable as far as the bands and accessories I have, how much time I want to spend on my workout, and best of all has examples (videos) of EACH EXERCISE! It’s fabulous! I finish my workouts tired but feeling good and sore the next day.

### 5/5 — No videos or pictures for beginners

*2024-09-06*

Visual instructions would be helpful like BetterMe. As a beginner, I have no idea what an “overhead press” is, show me. As for length of bands, are you asking for maximum stretch length or unstretched length?

**Developer response:** Hi,

Each exercise has a “Guide” button in the upper right corner of the entry screen. They are also located on workout screen if you tap the number. Since most exercises support multiple variants, I don't show all the videos on the entry screen, but the guide will show you how to perform them.

The band length is the length without stretching. For instance, nearly every loop band is 41”.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2024-03-08*

This app is exactly what I was looking for to track my band workouts and also to help come up with new routines! I love it! Super easy to use, and I love that it also supports band stacking!

### 5/5 — Amazing resistance band app

*2024-03-06, version 1.0.5*

As someone who uses resistance bands to workout, I have always found the various apps here to be a pain in the butt to use. Either they feel old and clunky, or they don’t have the customizations I need (for example, specifying different brands of bands).

Then I found Rubber Bands. Finally. This is the resistance band app I’ve been waiting for. Not only does this app allow full customization, but the overall design just makes sense. My workouts are now much smoother and easier to record.

I wish this app had come out years ago, but I’m so glad it’s out. I use it every workout. Thanks to the developers!

### 1/5 — No Workouts Without A Trial

*2026-05-13*

Unless there was something I couldn’t figure out, you won’t be able to do ONE SINGLE WORKOUT without signing up for a trial. Which will auto-renew after 7 days according to their terms.

This wasn’t clear to me, again, unless I just can’t read, until I was about to start my workout after (🤯) the app sent me a reminder. Weird that it doesn’t gate setting the workout REMINDER behind the paywall, but it does gate your first workout behind that paywall.

Very irritated. It felt very scummy to not find out about the trial requirement until after putting sex, age, weight, height, physical fitness level, goals, workout equipment, etc in.

**Developer response:** Use the free Habit Builder workout. It’s free.

Add a workout and go to plans. It’s there - it’s totally free.

All the data is local. There was no email needed to use the app. I’m not collecting any of your data, it’s just used to power the algorithms.

### 1/5 — No Free Trial

*2025-10-16, version 2.9.10*

Very disappointed was charged straight away even though app said I was on free trial.

### 1/5 — Useless without a Subscription

*2025-02-09*

This app won’t even let you track a single workout without a subscription. What is the point?

**Developer response:** I have always offered a 7-day trial so you can decide whether to subscribe. You can use the app for free for 7 days. The paywall also states that a subscription allows unlimited tracking once the trial expires.

What are your expectations for this? What could I have done to avoid this one-star review?

Thanks for your time.

### 2/5 — Bad UI

*2026-08-03*

Good content, but for a paid app the UI is not good. Filtering is bad, customizing is bad, saving exercises sends them nowhere. Big yikes. Needs work.

**Developer response:** Hey, could you let me know where you’re seeing issues? Where are you saving exercises that go nowhere?

What part of the filtering doesn’t work for you?

Appreciate it!

### 2/5 — Looks good but…

*2025-11-25, version 2.11.2*

A nice looking app but unfortunately it’s overly complicated and I didn’t end up using it.

### 2/5 — Not worth $20/yr

*2025-02-20*

I’m not sure why this would be worth $20/yr. I set up my gym and a workout that was supposed to be chosen by the app based on my goals and equipment. The first exercise needed equipment I don’t have and wasn’t mentioned until I looked at the instructional video. Awesome. The instructional videos, when the exercise had them, aren’t even theirs, just stuff they found on TikTok or YouTube. The AppStore preview is also deceptive. The in app purchases section it makes it look like it is a one time fee when it’s yet another monthly/yearly subscription.

**Developer response:** Could you tell me the recommended exercise for equipment you didn’t have? I want to investigate. It would be helpful to see a screenshot of the exercise issue; you can email hello@rubberbands.app.

There is a mix of videos that are my own; I’m shooting instructional videos every weekend for the app. If you look at my YouTube channel, you can see the videos I’m creating for the app.

As for the paywall, both Apple and Google will yank your app for deceptive paywalls. Both subscriptions indicate / year and / month. Please let me know how I could improve that.

I want to address all your issues so you’re a happy user. I feel the app is a bargain at $20/year. If you don’t, please give me the opportunity to change your mind.

Regards

### 2/5 — A lot to like - but more work to be done

*2024-08-21*

First of all. I really like this app and some of the features. I can tell the developers are trying to put a lot of thought into how it can benefit band users. This is definitely a wonderful start to an app that is competent in supporting resistance band users. Many other apps either completely leave out band users or have options that are not well thought out in supporting band users.

For someone like myself, that uses custom programs and has no interest in a curated program, the app is not yet to a point that I would be comfortable using it exclusively so I will cancel my sub for now.

Some screens are lacking info or just kind of wasting space, the countdown timer is pretty small, I’m not sure what is going on with audio cues but they don’t seem to work, I’d like to have more control over my custom exercises and what equipment I’m using with those, On that note I’d also like to be more specific with the equipment I use instead of just checking off a pre-made list, I’d like to see a screen before I start a workout that tells me all the specific equipment and bands I need so I can get them setup before starting my workout (this is also where my need for more control over my equipment comes in), this one is not as important but I’d like to group my workouts into a routine so I can halve multiple routines that I rotate after 6-8 weeks and it won’t overload my Home Screen with a bunch of tiles. Just some constructive feedback, not to be taken as me throwing shade on the app. I think it’s headed in the right direction.

I have plenty of feedback so if the devs would like to hear it then please feel free to contact me.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reaching out and providing feedback.

Some of your concerns have a planned feature to help with. For instance, I will add folders to group routines and an archive feature for programs you no longer wish to use.

My goal is to make both groups of users (custom and curated) as satisfied as possible without making the app overly complicated. With feedback from users like yourself, we can do this.

Please use the in-app product feedback on the main screen or the support button on the settings screen and send me a message so I can better understand your feedback. I want to make you a happy customer.

### 3/5 — Bands workout rock

*2026-07-05*

It’s a nice app the exercises are solid the main issue is the bands and entering them and how it keeps track of it

**Developer response:** Can you expand on this? You may have a configured option that could be confusing. I'd love to help; feel free to reach out via email in the app.

### 3/5 — App Needs work

*2024-11-10, version 1.0.61*

App is confusing and unintuitive. Not clear how the rest timer works. I ended up ignoring it.

It is also not possible to edit sets after the workout. The intent is to let you edit but it is not possible to actually save the new value 🤦

### 4/5 — Great place to start. Just one request…

*2026-05-10*

We really like this app. I like that it provides suggested workouts, options for replacement exercises, and video guides for each exercise. There’s no family sharing so my husband and I each bought it so we could use it when we exercise together. I just wish we could sync the workouts between our phones so we’re both on the same program (without manually entering them each time) because the workout it “chooses” for me is different than on his app even with all of the same settings, so he’s not really using his app at all. We would just like to be on the same program. I’ve started putting the bands he uses in the “Notes” section of my app. We also spent A LOT of time inputting the bands that we’re using. That could probably be improved as well…otherwise - great app!

**Developer response:** Amazing that you work out together!

This is a use case I have not considered.

One option may be to use custom workouts. Those never change. I could also build a share workout feature that lets you scan a QR code.

Let me know your thoughts. Happy you like the app!

### 5/5 — Fantastic tool for tracking workouts!

*2026-04-30*

My strength workouts are exclusively it bands and I absolutely love all the tools and functionality of this app. They’ve thought of everything and it’s very easier to ensure that you are continually challenging yourself. Well done!

### 5/5 — Nothing like it. Extremely and pleasantly surprised.

*2026-03-17*

This is the app I have been searching for and could never find. As a 45 year old I find I prefer bands more and more over free weighs (though you can track those too). Finding your exact bands and tools in the app is an excellent addition. Subscribed yearly as a fellow dev, I can tell the work put into this and wish to support it. I don’t know what’s up with those two 1 star reviews - ridiculous. So I hope this offsets that some.

Note to the developer: if you ever have a temporary lifetime buy, I’d be down.

All the best and looking forward to seeing how you continue to improve!

Kind regards

**Developer response:** Thank you so much. Feel free to reach out in the app. Our stories and ages are similar. I'd love to optimize for fitness enthusiasts like us.

Thanks again!

### 5/5 — Great tool for X3 system

*2025-10-22*

I got this to use with my X3 and it’s great.

### 5/5 — The only workout app you need

*2025-10-21*

I don’t even know where to start. This app makes it so easy to track your band workouts. If you’re a beginner there are guided workouts. If you’re a pro and have your own routine just create custom workouts. If you do hybrid, and workout with bands and other equipment like dumbbells you can do that too. The developer has built a clean, easy to use, comprehensive app that is all you need no matter what kind of workout you are doing. I can write 5000 words on all the features and benefits of this app but you just have to try it yourself. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Great app. Responsive developer.

*2025-10-04*

Really enjoying this app to track my workouts. Contacted the developer with a question. He responded very quickly and indicated a plan for an to improve my experience in the app. Can’t get much better than that!

**Developer response:** Thank you!

### 5/5 — Good app, great developer

*2025-08-23*

Just started adding bands as a part of my workout routine and this app is really really good. Even more impressive than the app is the developer. He’s been incredibly responsive to a few questions I’ve asked and some suggestions I’ve made. Can’t wait to see where all this goes.

### 5/5 — Solid resistance bands focused app

*2025-08-08*

I use this as a straightforward way to track resistance band exercises for the routine I do and it does all the things I need it to do. There are other features that I don’t need/want and they don’t get in the way of what I want. Happy with it. Developer is very responsive as well.

**Developer response:** Thank you!

### 5/5 — Finally found it!

*2025-05-31*

This is my new favorite app. I’ve just taken up resistance bands and have found zillions of plans and videos online. But it’s just too much to process and create my own bc almost invariably they just don’t work quite right for me and then I’m fiddling creating workouts which I do not want to spend time doing (fiddling that is).

Enter Rubber Bands. It’s easy to dial in both the bands you have and the style of exercises etc (I like to go anchor free for example). There’s even an option for seated only.

Best of all, the app progressively increases load and mixes up the exercises from workout to workout.

Love love love it.

My only complaint is I’m not a huge fan of the look. I think the UI could be improved. But it’s not bad and it works super well

**Developer response:** Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying it.

If you wouldn’t mind, please send me a message via the app support or email me at support@rubberbands.app. I’d love to hear your ideas for the UI.

### 5/5 — Rubber Band app

*2025-05-26*

This app makes working out easier and more productive. I’ve seen many applications for different uses that are not practical because these were developed by those without first hand knowledge of the product and the end goal. This app is very practical, efficient, and organized. I am fairly technologically inept, but I’m able to navigate the app well, and the one or two times when I was new to the app and contacted customer support, they were very helpful, clear, and professional.

**Developer response:** Thank you!

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-05-12*

I’m in the middle of a workout but just wanted to shout out the developer for being so involved in the community and making changes ASAP. Amazing amazing app that has truly changed my body and health for the best

**Developer response:** Thank you. Please reach out with anything!
