### 2/5 — App Needs work

*2026-08-12, version 26.6.1*

The app would not resume on multiple times . Hopefully you can improve it. I’m deleting it

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-08-02, version 26.6.1*

I recorded 2 Rucks. I did the exact same ruck using the Apple workout app, then this app. Same pace, same route, using 55lbs in my ruck sack. This app doesn’t show a heart rate on my Apple Watch, and the was only a 5-10 cal difference recorded between the 2 apps

### 2/5 — No support

*2026-07-20, version 26.6.1*

The app does a good job logging rucks, but my integration with Strava broke three weeks ago, and no one from support will respond to my attempts to get help.

### 3/5 — Great app, but

*2026-07-17, version 26.6.1*

Great app and is what I’m was looking for when tracking my rucking. Only issue is that the Strava upload is failing over and over . Reached out to RuckWell support and never hear anything back .

### 2/5 — Not accepting edits

*2026-07-07, version 26.6.1*

Will not save edits !!!!

### 2/5 — Unimpressive

*2026-06-26, version 26.6.1*

Should have knew this would be a total waste of money.

### 2/5 — Unreliable

*2026-06-05, version 26.5.2*

It was refreshing to find a “free” app that would allow to use it for the simple, straightforward stuff without have to pay. It offers a “plus” version but it doesn’t limit you or harass you in order to get it. It is good for tracking rucking, but it is not for tracking run. It pauses every 30 seconds and you have to press “resume” in order to keep tracking. It’s very disappointing.

### 3/5 — Love it but…

*2026-06-03, version 26.5.2*

The watch app is glitchy. I’ve yet to use it and have it record a full ruck. It usually stops within a few minutes. The phone app generally does well but that has stopped recording at times as well.

### 2/5 — Still not fixed for Apple Watch workouts

*2026-05-28, version 26.5.2*

App seemingly and randomly quit ~30 minutes into ruck (saving it as “Other” workout). Restarted app and “new” ruck contained incorrect data (zero elevation gain throughout despite it being not flat at all, so I imagine calories are way off as well). Please fix this and I will subscribe! I’m about to give up and just use Endurac.

### 4/5 — Amazing rucking app

*2026-05-25, version 26.5.1*

Other than occasional glitches this is an amazing app. I use for rucking and plate carrier running.

### 2/5 — Gave it another shot, same issues with Apple Watch.

*2026-05-25, version 26.5.1*

Was encouraged that the auto-quitting of rucks started on Apple Watch might’ve been fixed, but just had it happen again this morning. The quit workout did however sync to my phone/Apple Health as “Other” - but not with any of the associated rucking metrics (including not being identified by Health nor RuckWell ad a ruck). Hope this gets sorted out as it’s still not fixed.

### 2/5 — What happened!?

*2026-05-24, version 26.5.1*

After the latest update, this app is cutting off mid-workout and it has deleted 2 workouts completely from existence! It’s turned into a piece of junk and time to move on to something else!

### 4/5 — Ok

*2026-05-06, version 26.4.1*

When I first downloaded this about a month ago, it had issues syncing between my phone and watch. Ultimately I deleted the app from my watch and only used it on my phone. It's worked well since then. It announces my split time on thru my headphones. I like the ruck work / load / power metrics and that I can select how much weight I'm carrying and how (ie: vest). In the section for additional weight I wish they had a choice for a camelbak since I carry one with 3 liters of water on long rucks.

### 2/5 — IOS Health App

*2026-04-26, version 26.2.1*

What is the difference between IOS health app and Ruckwell

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-04-16, version 26.2.1*

Does not work when walking on a treadmill even with it connected to my Apple Watch.

### 3/5 — Not Properly Syncing

*2026-04-15, version 26.2.1*

The phone app is not properly syncing with workouts recorded on my Apple Watch. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I’ve been through all the Health permissions. Workouts are also shown out of order in the History tab.

### 1/5 — Wtf

*2026-04-07, version 26.2.1*

Why only after using this app 4 or 5 times does it not sync with iOS?! I did a workout and stopped the workout then started another after a rest. I completed the workout and on my watch it’s there but it didn’t transfer to the phone app, like they’re different? Really this doesn’t make me want to even consider purchasing your paid app, why am I even giving you my data free if you can’t even get this rite? I am getting absolutely nothing in return while you gather information. Quit being greedy and put some care into your business and society.

### 2/5 — Ruck disappeared

*2026-04-07, version 26.2.1*

Two times already the page with the ruck closed and i can see the time moving but doesn’t allows to go back on it and it didn’t saved it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stats are wrong

*2026-08-29, version 26.8.1*

It’s been doubling up my rucks and pushing incorrect data to Strava.

### 1/5 — Repeatedly does not sync with iOS.

*2026-06-21, version 26.6.1*

I have used this app for about six months because I thought it would be a better way to track rucking because of the features that let you add weight and how it’s carried. The app also uses a simplistic algorithm to track “ruck power”. You can do the same thing by adding notes to Strava workouts or titles to WorkOutdoors. It’s too bad, I had hopes this app would work for me. It didn’t.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work well with apple

*2026-06-18, version 26.6.1*

This app could be good but misses the mark if you use an Apple Watch to track your workout. It doesn’t pair well. I import my workouts from Apple health but they never save correctly. When I try to save my ruck weights it doesn’t work. The information is therefore never accurate. What’s the point of using a rucking app if it won’t even save my ruck weight.

### 1/5 — Keeps pausing my workouts

*2026-06-04, version 26.5.2*

The app started out great but recently started pausing my workouts. I have tried every setting but no fixes were found. I tried reaching out to support but received no response. If they can fix this issue then I would change my review to 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Pauses randomly, no record of ruck

*2026-05-27, version 26.5.2*

I went on a long long ruck. It paused my effort randomly and then recorded the rest of the time as if I weren’t moving. Very annoying.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-05-19, version 26.4.1*

Watch app quits every time start a ruck.

### 1/5 — No synch with RuckWell on Apple Watch

*2026-05-10, version 26.4.1*

RuckWell on my Apple Watch records the workout accurately. However, the recorded workout doesn’t get transferred to the iPhone app.

### 1/5 — Won’t use Apple Watch and can’t change wt

*2026-04-29, version 26.2.1*

Very difficult to navigate, can’t use the Apple Watch heart feature. Can’t customize the weight for your ruck. Completely useless app so better off using something like MapMyRide or MapMyRun.

### 1/5 — Wtf

*2026-04-23, version 26.2.1*

Why only after using this app 4 or 5 times does it not sync with iOS?! I did a workout and stopped the workout then started another after a rest. I completed the workout and on my watch it’s there but it didn’t transfer to the phone app, like they’re different? Really this doesn’t make me want to even consider purchasing your paid app, why am I even giving you my data free if you can’t even get this rite? I am getting absolutely nothing in return while you gather information. Quit being greedy and put some care into your business and society. Also, Phantom workout suddenly appear. I will be deleting this app and I won’t use it anymore. It’s rather unfortunate but you can’t even handle. This small task.

### 1/5 — Test it before you use it

*2026-04-23, version 26.2.1*

App doesn’t work you need to test it before you use it on a long ruck. I should’ve stopped when I noticed calories weren’t tracking. I paused halfway through, but you know what let me just end it. I clicked end it wrote the calories over to my phone and I thought oh cool it is working. I started a new one from the app when I got done with my complete workout I clicked in again and it only wrote 30 cal for the entire 5 miles. I’m writing this in April 2026 app doesn’t work. I’d recommend trying something else.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Versatile

*2026-07-30, version 26.6.1*

Originally downloaded to track rucking time. This app has a bunch of other options with tracking movement. I was able to put what activity I was doing with what weight. I just completed a one mile run and it allows you to have alarms for whatever mark you want to reach. Like every quarter mile or mile. You are able to connect your Apple Watch if you have one. App totally function with bare bone usage. 100% worth downloading. I never write reviews but this app deserves the credit.

### 5/5 — Great for rucking

*2026-07-25, version 26.6.1*

Awesome app that helps me track my rucking progress. It integrates well with Apple Health and Fitness. Definitely recommend if you are looking to track any data regarding rucking and fitness.

### 5/5 — Good app for rucking

*2026-03-29, version 26.2.1*

I’ve been pleased with using RuckWell for rucking

### 5/5 — Nice overall

*2026-03-27, version 26.2.1*

Great app. My one complaint is the iPhone app defaults to no vo2 max protection and while you can change it, you have to do it every time because the app doesn’t save your preference. To add annoyance to this, the watch app shows vo2 max protection is on, but if you didn’t change it on the phone before starting a ruck, RuckWell is going to write a “hiking” workout to whatever apps you have connected to it. That means your vo2 max will go down. Very frustrating. But hey, it’s free so this is really just a nitpicky complaint. Thanks for the app!

Edit: an update has removed the vo2 protection it seems. I no longer see any option to turn that feature on or off. Maybe it’s behind the paywall now🤷🏻‍♂️. Since the main reason I went with this app is because it had that feature, I’ve been trying, quite unsuccessfully, to see if that feature is still in play. So far, Reddit comments, and an email to the developer have gone unanswered.

Edit 2: the feature lives!

### 5/5 — Very Improved!

*2026-03-27, version 26.2.1*

Thanks for moving the VO2 Max Toggle to the App. Now I can toggle it once and forget it. You’ve made a ton of other enhancements and tweaks and this App hits all the details I can Imagine possibly using. Ruck On!

### 5/5 — Great Tool!

*2026-01-18, version 26.1.2*

Incredible tool! The only thing I wish it had, was the option in additional weight to select pushing a stroller or something similar. For all the parents that enjoy this app, and more accurate tracking for some workout types

### 5/5 — Functional again!!

*2025-12-17*

Update that disabled most Apple Watch functionality has been superseded and it appears to be working again. Two minor issues. One may be my watch, but the workout progress in the watch has reverted to tiny fonts. It’s hard to read while moving. Needs more investigation by me. Also, when starting a workout on the phone, the title of the workout should be shown somewhere on the screen. Little things, but could be improved. I also like creating workout templates on the phone and syncing them to the watch.

**Developer response:** I’m sorry about the issues with the recent update. A subsequent update has improved the ability to edit activity settings, including ruck weight. If you try it again, you’ll see an improved experience along with several general bug fixes.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for.

*2025-11-09, version 25.9.2*

I just started rucking. This app is perfect for tracking my rucks. Easy to use and very informative.

### 5/5 — No complaints

*2025-11-07, version 25.9.2*

App is great, and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2025-11-07, version 25.9.2*

This application accurately captures your workout for Rucking, synch from your watch to your phone, integrates with the health app and is easy to use. A must have if you ruck.
