### 4/5 — Not exactly like Shanghai Rummy

*2023-08-01, version 2.0.281*

Fun game but you are limited in what you are allowed to lay down. Once you make board, you may play on others’ boards but you are not allowed to put additional sets or runs down. This game limits that. So, it is fun, but limiting. And, what do the dogs have to do with the game? While cute, they are pointless.

### 4/5 — Fun and challenging

*2022-08-12, version 2.0.281*

There are a couple kinks. Game didn’t recognize when I ran out of cards and won the hand. Giving it to next player. Also when arranging cards to meld, game failed to recognize that I had correct cards. Kept moving on to next player. Very frustrating as it takes a lot of time to get correct cards.

### 4/5 — Almost great

*2022-06-14, version 2.0.281*

Please add the option to disable wild cards, and make it so you can drag the cards in order instead of tapping. Even at the lowest setting the AI players are too aggressive with their buys.

### 2/5 — Crashes

*2025-02-02, version 3.0.343*

I’ve had this game for several years and loved it but since this last 2 updates the game has turned awful. Lags and crashes at the end of the round :(… if it’s not broke why mess with it in the 1st place 😭

### 2/5 — One big flaw

*2023-04-08, version 2.0.281*

This would be a great game if it worked fully. Apologies if I am wrong, but I cannot find instructions how to take a joker from a run that has been played. The rules say that this is possible. But tapping on my card and then tapping on the joker in the run meld does not work. Please advise. These rules aren’t exactly the rules my family uses. But they are close enough. But I will uninstall the app if I cannot take jokers when the AI can. I would be playing with a handicap.

### 2/5 — Dog stuff is confusing

*2022-09-10*

I think the game is good, but the dog stuff is super confusing and clutters the UI. There’s just way too much stuff on the screen and it distracts and detracts from the game.

### 2/5 — Val’s game

*2022-04-25*

Getting so fed up with the site crashing or freezing. I have also found times when I am told to meld my cards but I don’t actually have the correct cards to do the meld.

### 3/5 — New font

*2025-01-22, version 3.0.341*

New font is blurry. Hard on the eyes. Makes game difficult to see.

### 3/5 — Gratitude but wanting more

*2021-03-16, version 2.0.277*

Shanghai Rummy is my favorite card game. So I’m very grateful that this app exists. But... the “play with friends” feature does not work. At all. And the interface for playing with the bots is super clunky. But it allows me to play and hone my skills. I would pay good money for a high quality Shanghai Rummy app.

### 4/5 — Dislike January 2025 Update

*2025-03-15, version 3.0.350*

I love this rummy game and play on my iPhone often, but really dislike the font change made in March 2025, makes cards really hard to see. Prior font was better.

### 4/5 — Dislike January 2025 Update

*2025-01-23*

I love this rummy game and play on my iPhone often, but really dislike the changes from the January 2025 update. The look of the card desk is smaller and bolder. Less attractive. Buttons got rearranged so most of the time when you go to press the OK in the latest version, it thinks you pressed the leash instead.
When you want to see all scores the leash button now seems to need to be pushed more than once.
The game wants to display score totals but usually only displays 3 of the 4 totals so that is not a time saver.
This update made the game much clunkier 😞

### 4/5 — Fun game, needs update

*2024-09-13, version 2.0.281*

It’s a fun game. Wish the graphics were better but overall solid.

### 4/5 — Gets stuck

*2024-02-10, version 2.0.281*

Often it gets stuck and nothing seems to fix it but deleting the app and reinstalling it. Right now it won’t sort so I can meld.

### 5/5 — Great Shanghai rumi game!

*2026-04-13, version 3.0.436*

Don’t understand the dog training theme but still what I want in a Shanghai rumi game. One ad per game is super reasonable.

### 5/5 — I LOVE THIS APP!

*2026-03-01, version 3.0.415*

This is a wonderful app if you like the card game Shanghai! The dogs make me lol and I like how the slight adjustments in the game so it’s mobile friendly versus when you’re playing it in real life. Overall, a great app. It helps me when I’m feeling anxious. Also, the app founder replied to my emails asking to change some fonts so they were more accessible for readers. Thanks again!!

### 5/5 — Nana

*2025-04-16, version 3.0.356*

I have deleted and reloaded this app 2 times and it continues to do the same thing. It keeps jumping on the page and that gets annoying to the eyes. Can this be fixed. THANKS

### 5/5 — Confusing

*2025-02-05, version 3.0.343*

Fun

### 5/5 — More hands

*2024-05-01, version 2.0.281*

It would be great if this game offered more hands. In the OG Game there are 9 hands

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2022-07-31, version 2.0.281*

Really like this game! The only change that needs to be made is being able to go out when your discard plays. Should have to play it and “float” until you draw a card that doesn’t play and you can discard it. Other than that it’s perfect!

### 5/5 — Wild cards

*2022-03-19, version 2.0.281*

I play this game quite often and I really do like it, however my complaint is that I very seldom get any wild cards and the opponents get quite a few. I don’t know how you determine what player gets what cards but it would be nice to get a fair share. Thank you for listening.

### 5/5 — K9 Shanghai

*2021-04-28, version 2.0.277*

Fun especially for a dog lover.

### 5/5 — Beloved Shanghai Rummy comes to life!

*2021-04-22, version 2.0.277*

I was incredibly happy to find this wonderful game on the Apple App Store today and immediately loaded it up on my iPad 12.9. The graphics are stellar, navigation was almost instantly intuitive, and you are able to configure several settings in the setup screen. Best of all, each round features simple graphics showing you what is required to lay down your cards! A set is three of a kind (any suit) and a run is 4 sequential cards of the same suit. Jokers can be anything, and I promise this game will capture your attention and you will be loving the genius programming that made it possible! Great way to practice your skills for when you are playing ‘for real’ with friends or relatives. I have not tried the play with friends but enjoy playing versus the computer ‘bots’ (it is 4 handed because of the demands of showing all those cards on screen. I used to do simple Visual Basic programming, this person likely used JavaScript to do this - (I am guessing) and I have to say kudos - it can NOT have been easy to handle all the variables and still make it ‘look good’. Compared to many other card games I have encountered on the web, I found K9 Shanghai Rum to be top-notch and captivating. I highly recommend giving it a whirl. I was sold the instant it loaded up on my iPad for the very first time!
