### 4/5 — My take on Run Across America App

*2025-11-21, version 1.0.115*

Easy to use, easy to connect to Strava. Love the import multiple activities functionality and it’s for a great cause.

### 4/5 — Motivation

*2024-07-04, version 1.0.95*

This program keeps me motivated to walk every day at least 1km but almost always farther. Sometimes much farther.

### 3/5 — Not the best, not the worst

*2023-10-27, version 1.0.86*

I used this app & virtual run program for two seasons now - Spring and Fall. The apps fairly easy to use. I appreciate the option to include other physical activities like strength training into the count.
I give an average review because 2x I’ve had mishaps with my registration. First time they sent me the wrong item, and second time I didn’t receive my medal.

### 4/5 — Great fun, one small critique

*2023-10-13, version 1.0.85*

First, let me preface this with the fact that this is only my second virtual race- perhaps this is normal and I should just get used to it. Plus I would like to say I am enjoying how it's motivating me to get out there, and that you have a walking option. I have only one criticism. I signed up for the Fall Frenzy run- though I will be hiking not running. I like the fall season and feel of the race. But I live in southern Arizona, where it is just now in October starting to get cool in the mornings. I managed to get my first hike in early September when there was some surprise good weather, and was really excited to record my first entry. Now how do you think I felt when I looked at my first finish, and the feedback I got was not "good job!" or "nice start," but instead a criticism that I was already running behind schedule. ?????? I was not aware that I was under any schedule other than my own. All the excitement I had evaporated in that moment. I even thought about not bothering with the race anymore at all. I'm glad I stayed with it. I suppose that "motivation" works for some people, but it was disheartening to me.

### 2/5 — Too expensive & UI needs improved

*2022-03-17, version 1.0.61*

Not easy to navigate, it should be streamlined and other features added especially for the price! Don’t understand why it’s so expensive for only a couple months activity!!!

### 2/5 — Fun though inaccurate

*2022-03-09, version 1.0.60*

It’s been fun to have an overall idea of how many KMs I have run/hiked/skied over an extended period of time.

The latest update made the distance accuracy laughable. I hit 40k crossing the street the other day. Since I know many of the distances I often run, I just edit the distance at the end of the activity.

I wish the app worked - even as a timer - when offline. It generally won’t load at all if you don’t have a network connection.

### 4/5 — Great fundraiser and challenges, ok app

*2022-01-11, version 1.0.56*

Really enjoying the fundraiser and challenges. The various activities keep you engaged, and the teams aspect is fun, even if it’s just your family. App is mostly good, but has the drawback of no FitBit integration, so FB users have to manually enter activities. Still worth the effort, though!

### 5/5 — The mapping is top notch

*2022-01-07, version 1.0.56*

I needed winter motivation. This is my second winter with RAA, and I’m back to getting in/exceeding all the KM I need each day. I don’t use the social/selfie aspects but that would be fun if your friends signed up as well. I don’t have an Apple Watch, so I love the convenience of starting “go” in the app and it maps and times beautifully. Plus a “race day” style tshirt. To me, the cost of the app and shirt equates to a 10k or half-marathon one-day event, so I feel like I’m getting a bargain.

### 5/5 — Holiday Hustle

*2021-12-26, version 1.0.55*

Kept me motivated to exercise during a busy and stressful time of year!!

### 3/5 — Ok, but not my favorite

*2021-12-18, version 1.0.55*

I’ve used Runkeeper for a few years and then got this one to participate in the Holiday Hustle. Overall, it works, but some of the UI could be much smoother.
I don’t like that I can’t start a run from the first screen.
Also, changing from manual mode to having the app track it is more complicated than it should be…you have to go to a settings thing that’s in tiny text, and then that becomes the default. As someone who does both app track and manual entries, that really stinks.

### 5/5 — Motivation!

*2021-12-18, version 1.0.54*

One of the tools I rely on to keep my recent T2 Diabetes diagnosis in check. With the app, I compete against myself by setting goals and then working hard to surpass them. Run Across America has provided the motivation to put my wellness first, where ever I am. Let’s get moving!!

### 5/5 — So Much Fun!

*2021-12-14, version 1.0.52*

A great way to stay energized and inspired. A supportive community and easy to navigate app.

### 3/5 — Can’t see group activity?

*2021-11-27, version 1.0.52*

When my work and I created a team on Tuesday, we could see everyone’s activity on the team page. All of a sudden on Thursday, it says “no activities posted yet” despite there definitely being activities. Is there a setting I need to change or a glitch?

### 3/5 — Garmin

*2021-11-22, version 1.0.52*

Can you please add Garmin to options for auto feed

### 5/5 — So helpful!

*2021-11-15, version 1.0.52*

The Run Across America challenges are so motivating. I love using this app to keep me running when I’d rather sit on the couch and watch Netflix!

### 3/5 — Nice for selfies, kind of overpriced

*2021-11-15, version 1.0.52*

$45 for 2 months, then when your 2 months is up, you’re just cut off without any sort of notification email on what you achieved. I did enjoy using the app, but did not use teams or social sharing, and wasn’t a huge fan of how the app interfaces, so I won’t be buying again.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-05-05, version 1.0.116*

I tried this app years ago and it seems like all the money they have earned they just spend on advertising and certainly not improving their app. The issues I had with it before are all still here. I won’t waste time or money with this again.

### 1/5 — Can’t even use the app

*2023-01-23, version 1.0.76*

You have to sign up on a separate website and then pay $55 to even use the app. Screenshots made it seem exactly what I was looking for, so I’m disappointed that there’s a paywall

### 1/5 — Teams malfunctioning and no IT support

*2022-01-31, version 1.0.58*

The teams I had joined stopped showing anyone under 11 for the leadership board. Reinstalled the app yesterday and still no improvement. Today the 2teams I had been on have disappeared.
Very disappointing ks-run

### 1/5 — This app is non functional

*2021-11-27, version 1.0.52*

This app is not only not intuitive, it isn’t functional.

Why were my pets deleted without warning? Why advertise on Instagram as if this is for walking your dog when the pet feature barely works and then craps out? I can’t add my dog back with the code, so will just have to create a new pet and lose the data.

I’m not willing to sit on a phone to have someone explain to me why I paid $45 for a product that doesn’t work and “troubleshoot” either. I am glad I didn’t do the full year, find a better app.

### 1/5 — Mot working properly

*2021-06-12, version 1.0.38*

Does not work properly! Shuts down randomly on its own! Cannot adjust activity always just sometimes.

### 1/5 — Lousy

*2021-03-28, version 1.0.31*

Hard to use app

### 1/5 — Frustrating app

*2020-12-18, version 1.0.24*

I’m so frustrated that I paid money for this app to be motivated to run and participate in the events and then the even doesn’t show up on the app. This bug really needs to be fixed and you need to have a way to contact you when we’re having issues. Very ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Too buggy- not worth downloading

*2020-12-15, version 1.0.24*

This app is not good. The map tracking is not very accurate, and it seems to really malfunction after 5k. This morning, I was almost at 6k when it randomly reverted back to 4k and I lost track of my distance. I’m doing the Holiday Hustle and this app was a “selling point” for the price- enjoying the event, but this app blows.

### 1/5 — Distance tracker messed up

*2020-12-11, version 1.0.23*

I’ve been using it for several weeks and at least 3 runs have not been recorded properly in the app. It seems to just stop counting your distance. 8k was recorded as 2k today. So frustrating! I end up adding distance manually. Really poor functionality. Needs serious rework.

### 1/5 — Can’t shut it off!

*2020-12-07*

Went for a hike and when I had finished and hit stop, it would not let me select “mark as finished.” I’ve closed out the app, restarted my phone and still when I open the app back up it’s still still stuck on my last run. I can stop the time, but I can’t finish the run or close out the app. I can’t use it to track any future runs because it’s in a loop that won’t let me close it out. My only option is to delete the whole thing and start over. I’m better off tracking it all myself with my usual running apps.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Just do it!

*2025-10-05, version 1.0.112*

This is an effective app for staying motivating and participating solo (or in groups/teams) in daily physical activities

### 5/5 — Using this app since their inception!

*2025-06-16, version 1.0.108*

I LOVE this app! Each season, there are challenges to complete- including running, walking, swimming, biking, dog walking, etc. It does not matter how fast you are, the app set-up strives to keep you moving. This program has kept me active for many years now!!

### 5/5 — I love run across America

*2024-03-26, version 1.0.88*

This is the best workout app I’ve ever used and it shows other people to and it help me keep track of my workouts and you can make teams and join other teams but you got to be invited -Ariana walker

### 5/5 — APP IS NOT WORKING

*2022-11-01, version 1.0.75*

I was very excited to find out about this program and app. I signed up for the Holiday Hustle. I received instructions to download the app and I did that. The app is not working and I cannot see any pictures or words passed the first screen. I have emailed for support and have only received automated emails in return telling me exactly what I already know and have done. I would love to use this, since it’s already paid for. However, as it stands, I just wasted a lot of money.

### 5/5 — Strava Integration Stopped Working

*2022-09-17, version 1.0.74*

I love this app, but the Strava integration recently stopped working. All of my workouts show in the app, but will not successfully upload. I’m having to manually enter all my workouts and it’s such a pain. Please help!

### 5/5 — Great way to stay motivated and fight hunger

*2022-04-22, version 1.0.65*

I’ve been using the app for almost a year now participating in each seasonal challenge. I’m a daily dog walker and would do so even without the app or challenge. But it doesn’t hurt to get a 5K thrown in every now and then or just the extra motivation that setting a distance goal brings. Badges are rewarded. Some people share selfies. Just makes it more fun. I just wish it worked with Apple health or fitness so I didn’t have to do manual entries every day.

### 5/5 — Five stars

*2022-04-20, version 1.0.63*

Run across America has helped me loose weight and improved my
Mental health. Feeds America, helps feed Ukraine. It’s is a win win!

### 5/5 — Run Across America

*2022-04-06, version 1.0.63*

Fantastic Group and App - gets and keeps you motivated to move no matter your age or size. The RAA Team keeps it interesting with a reward system (virtual badges), new doable challenges, great T-shirts, and a responsive Team in the background that takes suggestions, answers questions and updates the app. Join RAA - it won’t disappoint!

### 5/5 — Motivation +

*2022-04-01, version 1.0.62*

Run Across America is a great motivator to get out and move. The app is easy to use and the badges are fun and add some satisfaction for one’s efforts. 👍👍👍
