## What is Run Well?

Tell it your race and what you run now. It builds the whole block: easy days, tempo, intervals, long runs, strength. Every session is written out in full, from warm-up to paces to recovery.

  Then the week happens.

  IT ADAPTS
Bad night, heavy legs: it offers a shorter session.
Away on Tuesday: it moves the run and protects the long one.
Ill or injured: pause. Missed days stop counting, and it works out where to restart you.
Too much, or not enough: scale the block, or change your days.

Nothing changes until you say so.

A COACH THAT HAS SEEN THE RUN
Ask it anything. Talk me through today. Was that too fast? Move Thursday to Saturday. Find me a half in March.

It reads your splits, laps and heart rate against what the session asked for, so you get an answer, not a pep talk. And it speaks up when something is worth saying: a long run stuck for three weeks, easy days creeping hard, the niggle you mentioned last Tuesday.

  ON YOUR WRIST
A proper watch app. GPS with your route on a moving map. A tap and a spoken split every mile. Structured workouts that lap themselves and buzz when the interval changes. Today's session on your watch face.

  ROUTES
Tap out a loop and it snaps to real roads and paths. Build it to the exact distance today calls for, send it to your watch, and follow it live. Export as GPX.

  RACES
Search real races near you by distance and date. Pick one, and the plan builds backwards from the start line.

  THE NUMBERS
Training load. Readiness from sleep, HRV, resting heart rate and breathing. Paces and zones from a recent result. What you could run at other distances.

Every figure comes from the same calculation every time, so Run Well can always tell you why.

  ALSO
Run/walk plans. Strava upload. A review every Sunday. Your own saved workouts. A gear shop that waits to be asked.

  YOURS
No account, no login. Your training lives on your iPhone and in your private iCloud, which we can't read. Nothing about you is sold.

  ONE PRICE
Pay once. No subscription. 60 coach messages are included; add a pack of 30 whenever you need more.

Race data from RunSignup. Weather by Apple Weather.

### 5/5 — Enjoying the routes feature and find a race

*2026-10-15*

This is a great app to help prepare you for a race. I’m training for a turkey trot, and found my race, and it comes up with a training plan for you on a calendar. I enjoy the find a race feature, already signed up for 2 (and one race that I didn’t even know existed). I also like using it on my Apple Watch, it has a very cool routes feature where you can save the route. You can also draw routes based on how many miles you want to do. Enjoying this app right now! I’m sure there’s more to discover but so far it’s been fun to use.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.2 — 2026-10-30

Choosing a route for a run now shows your route folders, just like the Routes page — so a long list of routes is quick to get through. Plus refreshed App Store screenshots to match the redesigned app.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-10-30

Run Well 2.0 is a new edition, redesigned from the first screen to the last.

A NEW LOOK
A quieter, paper-inspired design throughout, with a new icon to match. Today now opens on your race, your readiness and the session ahead, with nothing in the way. On iPad, it spreads across two columns.

THE PLAN
Build a plan the way you prefer: take Run Well's recommendation, or set every detail yourself, including how much of your running is easy and how much is hard. Not training for a race? Choose a block of 8 to 16 weeks to get fitter or faster.

THE NUMBERS
Time in each heart rate zone across the block, set beside what the plan intended. Race readiness, now shown dial by dial, so you can see which part needs work.

APPLE WATCH
A redesigned watch app, in light or dark. One large Start, a cleaner run screen with pace, distance and time, and maps that match your chosen look. New complications and Home Screen widgets show today's session and your week at a glance.

ROUTES
File routes into folders by dragging them where they belong.

STRAVA
Sign in through the Strava app if you have it, choose how uploaded runs are titled, and walks now arrive as walks.

VOICE
The coach now reads replies aloud in a natural new voice.

SMALLER THINGS
Add a profile photo. Settings have a page of their own. Save a home zip code and race search is ready when you are. New filters and sorting in the gear shop. The coach waits longer for a reply on a slow connection, and picks up the conversation when you tap one of its notifications. Send feedback from inside the app.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-14

Run Well no longer needs a subscription.

• The whole app is yours with a single purchase ($4.99 USD): plans, routes, Apple Watch, race finder and stats.
• 60 coach messages are included. Need more? Add a pack of 30 any time for $.99 cents.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-09

The coach now understands your sessions properly.
• It knows the full instructions for each workout — fast finishes, strides, intervals and all — for today, the days ahead, and runs you've already done.
• It can see strength days and second sessions.
• It knows your goal time, and when a lighter week is a planned cutback.
• It can answer direct questions about last night's sleep, HRV and resting heart rate.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-06

Fixes a crash when sending a message to the coach. Smoother app launch. The coach can now find a specific session anywhere in your plan and answer questions about races and gear directly.
