## What is Run2Beat?

LET THE MUSIC SET YOUR PACE

The right song at the right moment changes everything. Run2Beat locks your local music library to your exact cadence — whether you are running, powerwalking, or cycling (outdoors or on a stationary bike).

Just set a target BPM. Run2Beat pulls matching tracks from your files and gently re-times them to land perfectly on your stride or pedal stroke, without distorting the vocals. Streaming apps pick songs that are close enough. Run2Beat makes them fit.

WHY RUN2BEAT

• 100% Free & Private: No subscriptions, ads, or accounts. Fully offline — your files and data never leave your device.

• Leave the Phone Behind: Sync your BPM lists directly to your Apple Watch for full standalone playback with the same tempo, sound, and crossfade.

• Smart Import: Load MP3, M4A, or WAV files. Shazam auto-fills missing tags, and optional HE-AAC conversion saves storage space.

• Pro Audio Control: Built-in LUFS volume normalization, a 10-band EQ with presets and gapless crossfade ensure a seamless, uninterrupted flow.

• Your Rules: Set warm-ups, pitch limits, and beat multipliers (one step per beat, every other beat, etc.).

• Share & Drive: Share entire BPM lists with workout partners via AirDrop, or hit the road with full CarPlay support.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-12

Version 1.0.5

New: warm-up in BPM lists, smoother song transitions and volume buttons on Apple Watch.

A BPM list can now start with a gentle warm-up at a lower tempo before reaching your target BPM - a nice way to ease into a run. Works the same on iPhone and Apple Watch. Lists show an icon when warm-up is on, and the warm-up tracks themselves are marked in the list.

Song transitions feel smoother than ever, whether you use seamless switches or a short crossfade between tracks.

Skip a track in a BPM list on iPhone or Apple Watch and it's flagged, so you can easily find and replace it later - both on the row and on the list card itself. Clear the flags with a swipe or the context menu.

Also:
- Added volume buttons to Now Playing on Apple Watch.
- Watch playback resumes after a phone call.
- Simplified BPM editing: play time instead of track count.
- In the Library you can add all currently shown tracks to a playlist in one go.
- Made the save, import and sync buttons clearer.
- Show AirDrop-received lists in Import Logs.
- AirDrop of BPM lists now includes the full recipe, including warm-up.
- Sped up app launch.

Thanks for using Run2Beat!

### 1.0.4 — 2026-07-17

Version 1.0.4

New: Mail-style swipes, AirDrop for BPM lists and smarter BPM editing.

Swipe gestures now work like the Mail app: drag a row to reveal buttons, release to park it open so you can tap a choice, or fling far to commit the outermost action. In the Library: favourite or delete from library. In a BPM list: replace the track or delete it permanently. On the BPM lists and Playlists screens: swipe to delete a list. Destructive choices use a clear centered alert instead of a bottom sheet.

Share a BPM list via AirDrop! The receiver gets a real BPM list with the same recipe and tracks - not just a regular playlist.

When you change the target BPM on an existing list we ask whether to keep the tracks (re-pitched) or draw a fresh random selection. Tracks that fall outside the pitch window are flagged in red and your choice to keep them is saved - the list is not emptied when you save, close or sync to the watch.

Also:
- Multi-select in Favourites: pick several tracks and add to a playlist or remove from Favourites in one go.
- Playback stops if you delete the track that is currently playing.
- Expanded help in the BPM list info sheet for editing saved lists.
- Apple Watch: clearer sync prerequisites in the info sheet; Sync button stays active as long as the watch is paired.

Thanks for using Run2Beat!

### 1.0.3 — 2026-07-04

Version 1.0.3

New: smoother BPM lists, clearer audio quality and more reliable
backups.

We reworked how you edit a BPM list. Tap the speaker icon to
preview a track instantly - no session, no navigating away, and
the mini-player pauses automatically. Swipe a row left for a
fresh random match that lands in the same slot. Tap the row to
open the Library filtered to the track's artist(s). New BPM lists
now start at 10% max pitch instead of 5%.

On Now Playing we show a clear audio-quality indicator (1-5, plus
a kbps or Lossless line) so you can tell how good the source is.

We also:
- Made BPM lists and the Library much faster on large libraries -
  no more second-long pauses.
- Fixed a brief freeze when unlocking during a background import.
- Added swipe-left to remove a track from a playlist or
Favourites, and to delete a group.
- Smoothed out CarPlay on large libraries.
- Apple Watch: the Sync button re-enables as soon as the watch is
reachable, and we fixed a case where pausing then skipping could
make the list jump an extra step. New tip: with some older
Bluetooth headphones the sound can go silent after a pause -
leave the playlist and open it again to bring it back (newer
headphones like AirPods are not affected).
- More reliable backups: they now work with external drives, keep
running with the screen locked, and restore no longer needs
  double the disk space.

Thanks for using Run2Beat!

### 1.0.2 — 2026-06-13

Version 1.0.2

New features and improvements!

Sort order in Library and playlists now sticks. Choose once — it's
remembered when you navigate back or restart the app.

New: Merge playlists. Long-press a playlist and choose "Copy all
tracks to playlist" to move everything into another list.

Watch complication: add Run2Beat to your watch face and launch the app
with a single tap from your wrist.

Backup: pick a folder and watch a clear progress indicator while the
file saves, for example to an external drive. AirDrop and other share
options are still available.

The Library Duplicates sweep in Settings now works reliably on large
libraries without crashing or freezing the app.

CarPlay works better in real cars. You can now page both forward and
backward through long lists.

Importing a large library or receiving via AirDrop? We fixed a bug
that could cause crashes or let duplicates slip through.

Apple Watch: syncing with the screen off works better — open the app
on the watch if a long sync seems to have paused. Playback now
returns to the list automatically when the queue ends.

Welcome tip: a small one-time callout on the dashboard shows you where
to find info buttons throughout the app.

Thanks for using Run2Beat!

### 1.0.1 — 2026-06-03

Version 1.0.1

New: Back up your entire library!

You can now save your whole Run2Beat library to a single file - every
track, BPM value, playlist, BPM list, favourite and setting in one go.
Drop the file on a USB stick, external drive or the cloud via the Files
app, and restore everything in a snap when you switch phones or want a
fresh start. Find it under Backup in Settings.

We also:
- Added a nicer loading view while importing from a folder.
- Fixed importing into an existing playlist so it no longer duplicates.
- Improved list scrolling in CarPlay, so you can reach everything.
- Sped up playback start and squashed a couple of crashes.

Thanks for using Run2Beat. We hope you enjoy the update!
