It shuts itself down/closes. I'm only at the bridge so it's sooner inn the game than the last time I played. Your other games don't do this. How annoying. How annoying. The game is over halfway through because of a bug. Stuck in a loop in the Witch Doctor's hut. I reinstalled only to find the problem reoccurred. This shouldn't be happening considering the game has been out for so long and this is not the company's first release. Very disappointed with 2.1. Meh. I enjoyed the other games in this series very much (I recommend them) but I don't have time for this nonsense. ### 2/5 — Update to previous review… *2022-01-07* I previously left three stars due to the many issues with pretty blatantly racist stuff that wasn’t changed with the port but am now downgrading as the game has since crashed countless times and will not reopen. I deleted and reinstalled hoping Game Center would store my progress but no. I have restarted the game & reinstalled the game and nothing works. Great - IF I could FINISH instead of FREEZING *2018-07-06* I have an IPad Pro with the extra memory and an updated operating system, and yet have had several “loops” already. Now, just barely into Chapter 3, the game froze completely. I restarted the game, and it freezes now when I even tap to start my saved game. I restarted the IPad itself with the same result. I had just finished the first Runaway, and was preparing to plow through the series. I guess I’m glad I didn’t buy them all right out of the gate. Please tell me there is a simple solution to this that doesn’t involve starting over - the is plus to these games is they take a long while to solve, but that’s also a problem if it freezes. I want to 5 star the game... but I need to be able to finish it to do so! ### 4/5 — Great game, with a few minor issues *2018-06-14* Generally speaking this is a quality, classic 3rd person point & click game. There have been quite a few people reporting catastrophic bugs causing the game to be broken but, for the most part, it ran perfectly for me. It is a pretty large game though, & I am using a top of the range, 2018 iPad Pro, so it is probably a question of memory. If you have an iPad powerful enough I doubt you will have any real problems. Every once in a while the game did behave strangely and I had to close it and reboot (a matter of seconds) and I would return to my exact point in the game for me to carry on, so it never really caused to much bother. My main gripe is with the game design, the puzzles themselves to be precise. It is the same problem with all the Runaway games - 80% of the puzzles are logical and you can figure them out after a bit of mental gymnastics, but every now and again there is a puzzle where the solution is pretty abstract. Worse than that, however, is when you know what to do but the game wont let you do it because you’ve not done things in the perfect order. That is very frustrating because the correct solution, which makes sense, won’t work because you’ve not done it in order and so you naturally think it can’t be correct and spend an hour trying repeatedly outlandish solutions. It is beyond annoying when you eventually give in, look up the answer, and discover you were absolutely correct in the first place but just did not do everything the way the game wanted it done. Another annoying puzzle problem is, occasionally, the game requires you to look through the same item twice, even three times. It’s hard to explain without giving things away, but say you search a box and find 2 useful items and no more, you will come across a problem which requires an item you do not have. Despite looking everywhere for said item, you cannot find it. Eventually you discover you have to search the SAME BOX you got the other items from, it magically having new items of use in it. I can see why they’ve done this in terms of story-telling - why take an item that you do not yet have a use for? But in terms of gameplay it is flawed as why search a box you have already searched for something new? Anyway, for the most part this is a really solid, fun, point & click adventure and I recommend it ### 4/5 — Good game *2018-06-13* Great animation, voice over and interesting story. Not like runaway 1 but still very good. There are minor bugs like dialogues going into infinite loop sometimes, game freeze sometimes and the hut appears on the map before you passed the challenges to actually find it. Some of the puzzles make no sense and require he hint system. Joshua is well voiced but annoying character. Anyhow, excellent game. ### 5/5 — Top *2017-06-12* Un classique du genre point n click ! Ich habe dieses Spiel schon auf der Wii gespielt - nun hier auf dem iPad Air. Bei mir ist das Spiel nicht abgestürzt und ließ sich problemlos spielen.
