### 3/5 — Want to love but a bit glitchy

*2025-09-09, version 7.1.9*

Love the idea of this app! And with a few improvements, it could be perfect. For one, as other users have stated, it often creates and narrates unnecessary turns in the middle of the run. I will be on a straight section and it will say “turn right, turn left” to keep me going straight. Two, no matter how many times I select the option to only announce turns on my phones, the app will announce from my phone to my headphones AND watch app will announce for everyone nearby to hear. It’s incredibly annoying. Three, because of all the unnecessary audio cues, I often have to pull out my phone to check the map. It would be so much easier if one of the options on the watch app was a map zoomed in on my current location on the run. Four, I wish I could select how many announcements I want for turns. Sometimes it’s just one per turn, sometimes it feels like 3-4. It’s very disruptive. And last but certainly not least (maybe the most annoying glitch!), sometimes I need to pause my run to look at the map. Whether I pause from my watch or phone app, it will immediately “resume” on its own. So I’ll pause it again, then it will restart immediately, and on and on. I hate the impact that has on my mileage times since the app is tracking my pace / mileage. If you’re someone who likes to stop and stretch or stop and walk, this glitch might be a deal breaker.

For the pros, it’s really easy to create and share new routes. I can also make them private which is great so strangers don’t know my routes. You can create routes using roads, trails, paths, etc. - anything that would show up on a map. If your trail run has a lot of turns, it gets pretty annoying with the constant interruptions but it’s better than having to carry my phone and check the map all the time.

Honestly if they can fix the issues above, this will be my favorite running app. And until then, I’m still going to use it because I like to run different routes without having to stare at my phone the whole time and I have yet to find another app that does everything I want.

### 2/5 — Temperamental

*2025-08-21, version 7.1.9*

Paid for a yearly subscription - but wouldn’t recommend overall. The APP occasionally stops providing you voice instructions during your run which seems to be a recent issue within the last 2 weeks. This results in having to keep your phone unlocked for the duration the run for the app to function properly which just drains the battery, and is also a safety issue if someone steals an unlocked phone. Can’t see me renewing yearly subscription which is ashame as the idea behind the app is nice.

### 3/5 — Needs a little improvement

*2025-06-30, version 7.1.9*

The link between Iwatch and iPhone is not great start the run on the watch and despite setting the system to play instructions on phone it still plays instructions out load on watch. Does sometimes get lost. And it does not seem to have an offline ability but it is cheaper than the competition.

### 4/5 — Good, but could be better

*2025-01-12, version 7.1.0*

Some weird things with the Apple watch, if you start a run on the watch, it will not announce turns on headphones connected to phone. Even though I have it set to only announce on phone, it still does it on both. Recently I've had it pause my runs the whole time, even though auto pause is turned off. Other than that, route planner is great

### 2/5 — Must Pay for a Simple Feature

*2025-01-07, version 7.1.0*

You’ve got to pay to sync with Strava. It’s ridiculous. Every other app on the face of this planet doesn’t charge for this feature.

### 2/5 — App Crashes When I Click Start Route

*2024-09-28, version 7.0.9*

I imported a GPX file and it worked fine until I clicked start route where the app keeps crashing

### 4/5 — 音を大きくして欲しい

*2024-09-04, version 7.0.8*

### 1/5 — Dumb In-App Purchases

*2024-08-13, version 7.0.7*

Got this app to help plan my runs. Didn’t realize (they don’t make it obvious) that you can only plan one route, and then you have to pay for a subscription. They don’t tell you that up front. Also, the route making was super buggy and I couldn’t even outline my current run because it doesn’t show sidewalks are connected to certain roads, so it will not let you use them. It’s basically useless and is NOT a free app.

### 1/5 — Not SAFE for Navigation

*2024-07-23, version 7.0.4*

Horrible. They’ve made it worse with expensive subscriptions. If you go off course just once the entire mapping is done. It won’t course correct. It won’t tell you when you are off course. And the worst is once you get back on course it will no longer give you turn by turn directions. Imagine traveling for work, getting in a workout and being lost. Having to keep looking at your phone for which way to go. Not efficient and certainly NOT SAFE.

### 2/5 — Announces turns half the time

*2024-07-13, version 7.0.4*

If you really trying to use this without the phone half the time it doesn’t tell you which way to turn you have to look at the map section on the watch. it has also given me wrong directions when looking at the turn by turn section on the watch. Saying turn left when I really need to turn right to go on another street. but really nice to have the map on the watch when running.

### 4/5 — Overall app has been great, but…

*2024-07-04*

Recently my turn by turn directions stop after the 5th or 6th turn, leaving me a little lost on various routes I do through different run groups. Another runner shared a similar experience with me this morning. My setting are set to give me a summary every 5 miles, and that still works. I can also still see my self on the map (I’m using an Apple Watch). But the upcoming turn info gets frozen after the 5th or 6th turn and fails to give me any more info after that. I hope this is a known bug that has a fix soon 🤞

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for sharing this review and this issue. We made some substantial changes to the app recently, and we continue to release updates to fix any stability issues since. We have now several new app updates since, and we hope it's sorted for you now. If not, please consider sending us a followup with some details to support@rungoapp.com

### 3/5 — I loved this app until about 3 weeks ago.

*2024-06-19, version 7.0.3*

This app has been amazing. I love that it works out routes for you and that I can add extra turn instructions and more detailed descriptions like "2km to next token point". Unfortunately I'm the last few weeks it randomly stops giving me turn instructions. Might be 5 minutes or am hour in to a run and then no more instructions. It still gives run duration and distance and elevation and expected route completion duration. As most of my routes are 20km plus and very convoluted routes I now can use the app without regularly referring to the map. Hopefully the developers are aware of the issue and are working on a fix already. I've recommended it to dozens of runners and would love to be able to continue doing so.

### 2/5 — Very poor

*2024-04-10, version 6.9.0*

I have now tried to use this app on multiple occasions on my Apple Watch Ultra. It’s fine for finding and creating routes, but it then fails miserably in providing navigation assistance from the Watch app. I subscribed for the premium version and it was money wasted.

### 3/5 — It was a great app…

*2024-01-31, version 6.8.6*

Until they switched and the app isn’t useable without a subscription. I’ve been using it for years for free and then all of a sudden, everything is locked down unless you sign up. Shame but I won’t be paying to use this. I’ll find another free service.

### 1/5 — Great app in theory, lousy support

*2024-01-24, version 6.8.3*

Update 1/24: Not sure if this was a joke, but I got an email with a somewhat snarky response from the developer today after reaching out multiple times in OCTOBER. I would now say this app is a borderline scam and would NOT recommend.***

Great app in theory, but I haven’t gotten any support since paying for a premium subscription. It’s possible the app was great before the last big iOS release, but the Contact Us button doesn’t actually work/go anywhere and sending a request on the website just goes to a Zendesk queue that hasn’t been responded to in weeks despite check-ins. Doesn’t sync to Strava

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used to be a lot better

*2025-12-21, version 7.2.2*

Developers got greedy, hardly does anything now

### 1/5 — App Broken. Doesn’t recognize subscription

*2025-10-10, version 7.2.0*

Proceed cautiously.. app doesn’t recognize premium purchase. May have just wasted $6

### 1/5 — Baffling

*2025-06-01, version 7.1.6*

Route designed by a Cocker Spaniel! Constantly saying ‘turn left, turn right’ at the same time, which would have meant running into the undergrowth. Followed directions but kept then hearing ‘you appear to be off route’. Spent more time stopping to look at the map than maintaining a decent pace.

### 1/5 — Beware !!

*2025-04-09, version 7.1.3*

Paid the subscription but my account has not been updated to reflect this and keeps asking me to pay again.

I’ve now been emailing their support for 2 days and zero responses.

### 1/5 — Nicht nutzbar !

*2025-03-23, version 7.1.3*

Accounterstellung via versteckter Apple Emailadresse nicht möglich. Einfügen von vorgeschlagenen starken Passwort bei manueller Erstellung auch nicht möglich. App wird gelöscht

### 1/5 — App no longer Speaks Turns, the Entire Point of the App

*2025-03-22, version 7.1.3*

I have used the RunGo app as a Premium user successfully for years without issue.

The past few updates have completely broken the core function of the app to speak turns and route directions.
The app no longer speaks at all from my Apple Watch.

I have tried restarting both my Apple Watch and iPhone, and tried to ensure that the volume is turned up in the RunGo app settings on the watch.

I’ll reach out to support and hopefully they can help me fix this. Otherwise the app is essentially useless for me.

### 1/5 — Won’t even create profile

*2025-03-01, version 7.1.2*

I downloaded this to use on my run training. It won’t even create a profile. It just crashes back to the Home Screen. This has been going on for 2 days.

### 1/5 — Can’t get past login screen

*2025-02-01, version 7.1.1*

Tried signing in with both Apple and Facebook and it won’t log in properly

### 1/5 — They keep your data hostage

*2025-01-02, version 7.1.0*

Horrible app

It comes with a standard route planner, something I can get from EasyRoute for free.

Then it doesn’t have audio cues if you plan your own route, just beeps.

Then it WON’T let me export MY DATA, unless I pay their subscription.

Data that the built in WORKOUTS all gives you for FREE. There is absolutely nothing beneficial about this app, and since I cannot export my route to Strava or Garmin, I cannot sync it with all my other training. I ran 15 miles for nothing!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2025-01-01, version 7.1.0*

Turn by turn navigations are really bad and the map is too small to see anything. For some reason heart rate is not monitored. Also doesn’t sync with Strava unless you have the paid version (only realised AFTER my run) so had to subscribe for a month to see my run on Strava. Will unsubscribe and delete now. Surely there must be something better out there?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Last update broke the app

*2025-10-05, version 7.2.0*

Lost sounds, it doesn’t announce anything compile quiet. Very unfortunate
Already fixed, great app

### 5/5 — Perfect for Creating Routeso

*2025-03-30, version 7.1.3*

Found this app doing a search for what I needed. I wanted to create a route, share it with people and also create a GPX file for other smartwatches. There’s not all in one app like this for this cheap or free. Also I didn’t need all the bells and whistles like Strava or Map My Run. It actually has more than I expected for a free app. It also shows all kinds of data on the Apple Watch and iPhone. And it calls out data like pace, miles where to turn etc in your Bluetooth headphones, watch and phone. I just tested this morning for the first time and worked great. Now for GPX files and to save serval routes you have to pay, but a third of the price for Strava. I don’t even think you can map routes in Map my Run. If you just want a couple routes this is a great free app. And I wanted a live tracking feature to let someone know just in case something happens. This has it too in the paid version for way less than the others. All I can say so far is this is a great app. Not sure why all the 1 and 2 star reviews. I’ll probably pay the yearly just to give them money to keep this app going.

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2025-01-28, version 7.1.1*

Personally I love this app. Best thing that I’ve discovered in 2024! I suggest this app to everyone!
Minor issues - sometimes the app doesn’t give instruction through runs, but that only happened twice. I wish when you created routine it would also show in KM and not miles (and yes I checked the settings, everything is switched to KM), I wish this app could have been inegrsted shrug Fitbit or apple watch, would be such a game changer!!! And last but not least, I think it adds some distance on, as GPS on my Fitbit always ends up with far less distance than what is tracked on the app.
But again, such minor issues, I would not let anyone stopping downloading this! I’m literally about to get a subscription cause I gen love this app so much and been using it for like 6+ months!!!

### 5/5 — Overall app has been great, but…

*2024-08-13, version 7.0.7*

Recently my turn by turn directions stop after the 5th or 6th turn, leaving me a little lost on various routes I do through different run groups. Another runner shared a similar experience with me this morning. My setting are set to give me a summary every 5 miles, and that still works. I can also still see my self on the map (I’m using an Apple Watch). But the upcoming turn info gets frozen after the 5th or 6th turn and fails to give me any more info after that. I hope this is a known bug that has a fix soon 🤞

### 5/5 — The best of it's kind

*2024-02-11, version 6.8.6*

This app is so much better than others that claim to do the same thing. I never have trouble finding routes, and the turn by turn directions always keep me on track.

### 5/5 — See a

*2022-06-25, version 6.4.2*

Zazazahi a a sw

### 5/5 — Great UI & Voice Nav

*2022-06-02, version 6.3.1*

The UI on this app is easier to use than other options, and by that I mean that it’s easy to draw a route and correct mistakes . The turn by turn voice nav, even on trails us the real reason to use this.

Devs: Thank you for the automatic export to ’shortcuts’ to start a trip. Will you please give us more ‘shortcuts’ endpoints? I would like to be able to use a shortcut to query RunGo for route and stats in RAM, then write to my own server after a run.

### 5/5 — Changed my LIFE

*2022-03-11, version 6.3.1*

RunGo is amazing. I literaly cannot imagine my life without it. And I’m loving the recent update. Please can I pay you more. 🤩

### 5/5 — Great app to help run in the woods

*2021-10-06, version 6.2.7*

I used this to plan a run through the woods and it was great to hear about upcoming turns. I could easily gotten lost, but the app kept me on track.

### 5/5 — 簡単ルート作成

*2021-08-27, version 6.2.7*

タイトルの通りです。任意の地点をタップするだけでルートを引けるのでサクサク作業出来ます。また、高度をグラフで見られるのが便利です。ルートラボが使えなくなりましたが、これは代用にお勧め。
