## What is RunIntensity?

Your 40 miles this week hit like 55. RunIntensity is the running app that knows the difference.

Distance and pace don't tell you how hard a week really was. A hilly run in the heat or a tempo on tired legs costs more than the mileage suggests. RunIntensity scores every run in Stress-Adjusted Miles (SAM), a five-factor training load model built from heart rate, terrain, surface, cumulative fatigue and conditions. Your weekly mileage becomes a weekly training load you can plan around.

TWO NUMBERS, ONE ANSWER EVERY MORNING
RunIntensity reads what your watch already writes to Apple Health and scores two things separately, 0–100:

• Recovery — heart, nervous system and sleep. HRV, sleep and resting heart rate against your own baseline. Snaps back overnight.
• Freshness — muscles, tendons and joints. How much of your recent training your legs have absorbed. Drops with a hard session, climbs back over hours or days.

Then one call: Ready, Steady or Recover. Ready only when both are high; Steady when one system is still catching up; Recover when rest is the workout. Recovered isn't the same as healed — this is the app that knows when you're overdoing it.

KNOW WHAT TO DO TODAY
Your verdict, today's workout, your weekly training load budget and a one-tap start. Widgets, Siri ("What's my readiness?") and Control Center keep it one glance away.

## Frequently asked questions about RunIntensity

### What is RunIntensity's core feature?

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-26

Readiness gets two new signals, and hot days finally count.

• Illness signal — when your overnight wrist temperature or breathing rate runs above your own baseline, Readiness says Recover and tells you why. Needs an Apple Watch that records them.
• Heat — a hot, humid run asks more of you than the same run in cool air. Your Freshness now reflects that, and each workout shows the pace it would have been in cool conditions ("feels like 7:25"). Stress-Adjusted Miles are unchanged, so your weekly totals stay comparable.
• Time on your feet — days well past your usual step count now count as easy walking against Freshness, so a 20,000-step travel day no longer looks like a rest day.
• Your intensity-coloured route maps now appear on the coach web dashboard, with the same Stress / Pace / Heart rate / Elevation views and a fly-through of the route.

Plus the usual round of fixes.

### 1.0.9 — 2026-09-22

Readiness, rebuilt as two numbers and one verdict:

• Recovery (heart, nervous system & sleep) and Freshness (muscles, tendons & joints) are now scored separately, each 0–100
• A daily Ready / Steady / Recover call — Ready only shows when both are high, so a great HRV the morning after a long run reads Steady, not Ready
• Freshness runs on two clocks: a fast one that clears in hours and a slow one that counts the days your legs need after a bigger-than-usual load
• Readiness history replays Freshness hour by hour

Also new:

• Your workout map is colored by intensity — Stress (hills count), Pace, Heart Rate or Elevation — with a fly-by of your route
• Cardio fitness on the Health page: VO₂max and heart-rate recovery from Apple Watch, plus race predictions and training paces from your best race
• Widgets, Siri, Control Center, the coach dashboard and new Apple Watch complications show Recovery, Freshness and today's verdict

Thanks for running with us!

### 1.0.8 — 2026-09-10

Stay signed in, always:

• Your session now renews itself automatically in the background — feeds, friends, and sync keep working without re-signing in
• Accounts created in our earliest releases get a one-time “Secure your session” sign-in to enable the new session security
• Fixed a Settings warning that could stay red from an old Apple Watch location denial

Thanks for running with us!

### 1.0.7 — 2026-08-28

Smarter trophies and a fresher Board:

• Fastest Distances are now yearly trophies — your best 400 m-to-marathon times for the current year, resetting each January
• Indoor rides now count — stationary bike workouts import from Apple Health even when no distance was recorded
• The Board stays fresh — new workouts appear automatically after each sync, and pull-to-refresh now picks up your just-finished run
• Fixed a false “Watch GPS is off” warning in Settings — it now reflects what your last workout actually recorded

Thanks for running with us!

### 1.0.6 — 2026-06-18

• Live Activities now show your run on the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen in real time
• New iOS 18 Control Center controls and Action Button support — start a log or check readiness instantly
• Log strength and plyometric sessions with effort (RPE)
• Performance improvements and bug fixes
